Does Google penalize a page with the image tag with alt and without src?

Hi, I am curious whether Google penalizes a page with the image tag with a value in the "alt" attribute and without one in the "src" attribute?
Would this count as stuffing? Sometimes you cannot put an image but you would like to get SEO benefit by having a keyword in an image?

An image with no image? That would be just like an HTML error. It would be a mistake to think that doint this would be good for your SEO.

However, I honestly don't think this one thing would be enough to penalize you. It might just be viewed as an error (kind of like a 404). But if you have a site with other issues (on-site or off-site) you don't want to do more things that could tip the scale towards a penalty.
Even if you did "get away with it" - I highly doubt you'd see much SEO benefit.

Why would you create an image tag if there's no image to put? If the reason is just to put some words, then yes, that's stuffing, and you could be penalized.

Google Indexing
Hi, We recently launched a new version of our site on the Magento platform. I submitted a new sitemap and on the first crawl only 7 pages out of 132 were indexed...a few days later and we now have 107 indexed (phew). My question is this....how on earth do i find out which pages are indexed and more importantly not indexed? Faq page
We are redoing our faq page and we were trying to decide on the best format. 1. Create each question on a separate page 2. Create one page with all the question and have the questions expand 3. Hi, in my campaign crawls diagnostic, I have a lot of Duplicate page content, but we use canonicalization and I used webmastertool to make sure the campaign parameters are not consider by the Google bot. Should I let Google index tags? Positive? Negative Right now Google index every page, including tags... looks like I am risking to get duplicate content errors? If thats true should I just block /tag in robots.txt Also is it better to have as many pages indexed by google or it's should be as lees as possible and specific to the content as much as possible.
