With the keyword research on moz it reports on bing search volume - does anyone know if you should multiply this for google searches - ie if I'm looking at a keyword with 2500 bing searches what should I be considering google would be?

I don't really think it's possible to calculate. A multiplier for one keyword will be different to another. I don't the nk there is an average figure that anyone could calculate with any degree.

KW Explorer is Working to Disambiguate Keywords Google Merges Together

Hey gang, Russ Jones from Moz has been doing a ton of heavy lifting work to try to get around the new problem posed by Google AdWords recent change to merged-keyword volume data. But, we're fighting back against this obfuscation in Keyword Explorer. I'm sharing two emails (slightly edited) from Russ about what we're doing here: Introduction to the Problem: Google Adwords Keyword Planner is the primary source for keyword search volume (how often a keyword is searched monthly on Google) for much of the search marketing industry. While Google has grouped together highly-similar terms for a while (especially misspellings), in June of 2016 they dramatically increased this keyword-grouping. This means similar phrases like "keyword rank", "keyword ranking" and "keyword rankings" would all be reported as having the same, combined search volume, rather than their individual search volumes. If you were to take Google's numbers at face value, you might think there are 3,000 searches per month for these 3 terms, when in reality there is only 1,000, divided amongst the 3 terms. How we are addressing it: Moz's Keyword Explorer uses a blend of data sources, not just Keyword Planner, to build our volume metrics. This gives us a distinct advantage in that we can adjust the volume of words that deviate dramatically in one data set verses another. Take for example the phrases "keyword rank", "keyword ranking", and "keyword rankings". While Google Keyword Planner might report all of these as having 1,000 searches per month, Moz Keyword Explorer can detect that these numbers are significantly higher than what our models would predict given our other data sets. We can then adjust the volume accordingly. Moreover, given our huge keyword data set, we can also identify grouped phrases (like these 3) and divide the volume proportionally to what we see in our other data sets. Thus, we address the grouping problem from multiple directions. Here's email #2 from Russ, detailing more of how we're attacking this: I have been working pretty much non-stop on this keyword volume disambiguation problem (finding the real search volume of individual keywords when Google clumps several together). I think I have settled on a pretty good solution and am working on getting it all in. For example... Google Keyword Volume for the phrases "briefcase for women" and "briefcases for women" are both at 3600 because they have been lumped together. My disambiguation script says the singular (briefcase for women) should be 2731 and the plural should be 869. Google Trends roughly agrees with this, showing that the singular is searched more than 2x the plural: https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=briefcase%20for%20women%2C%20briefcases%20for%20women&cmpt=q&tz=Etc%2FGMT%2B4 Basically, Keyword Explorer should already be providing some more accurate/segmented numbers than AdWords, and in the future, we'll get even better thanks to our clickstream data and our evolving models. Keyword Difficulty Search Results: Can't tell which search engine

I ran a keyword difficulty search for 4 search engines: Switzerland in Italian, Switzerland in English, Switzerland in French and Switzerland in German. Now the results are in but it shows "Google.ch" for all of them so I can't tell which result is for which language. How can I check that? I ran the basic not full SERP.

Has using Moz got me banned from Google search?

Dear fellow Mozzers, For the last couple of weeks when ever I do a google search I have to enter a captcha code. Now I hardly use google anymore which is annoying ! Then I went onto support.google.com and saw this: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/86640?hl=en&ref_topic=3378866 "Automated traffic includes: Sending searches from a robot, computer program, automated service, or search scraper Using software that sends searches to Google to see how a website or webpage ranks on Google" Is Moz alone doing this? 500 errors showing up differently on moz and google wmt

Lately, I've been having the issue of a large increase in 500 errors. These errors seem to be intermittent, in other words, Google and Moz are showing that I have server 500 errors for many pages but, when I actually check the links, everything's fine. I've run tests to see if there is any virus on the server or if I have any corrupt files and as far as I can tell, there are none. I'm left with the possibility that maybe one of my plugins is causing this issue (I'm built on top of Wordpress). Moz is showing that I had nearly five hundred 500 server errors on the 12th or the 11th. On the other hand, Google shows that on the 13th I had 179 server errors and then an additional 200 for the 15th. I'm assuming Google is slow to find or report these things? I would like to know which is more reliable so that I can try to figure out which of these plugins may be causing the problem, if any or if I'm investigating this the wrong way, I'd love to have more suggestions. Create a report with keyword, label, difficulty, global search volume, and ranking?

Is it possible to create a report with containing keyword, label, difficulty, global search volume, and ranking? Currently in order to get the data, it seems like I need to manage two lists, the keyword list we are tracking and the keyword list in the Difficulty tool then somehow manually combine the data. Is there an easier way?

Does anyone else have issues with Moz's keyword search volume tool for Google's search engine?

It will show the search volume for Bing even when Google is selected. Then, if you select Bing, you'll get the same data as it shows for when you selected "google". So basically, this tool does not work for Google's search engine. Or it is most likely not a reliable way to perform keyword research. Anyone else notice this? Does Moz even offer a way to submit a support ticket to get this fixed?

Why does Moz Analytics drop my Google Analytics connection every time I login?

I get the following message every time I check the Moz Analytics dashboard on any of the sites I manage. It seems like a bug in the system. Does anyone know how to fix it? "We lost connection with your Google Analytics account. Don't worry — you won't lose any data. Please reauthorize now."
