Asynchronous loading of google maps?

I'm working on a page that ranks the 10 best neighborhoods in our city. With each of the top 10 I have a 300x200 google map of the area. These maps are taking some time to load and slowing down the speed of the page. Is there a way to load these asynchronously? Or any other way to speed up the page?

Too cool. Just as I was falling asleep last night I figured out that this was exactly what I was going to do.

10 maps is a lot of data going on... have you considered just doing static images of each neighborhood and making it link to the Google map?

I have a domain with rank no 1 in google web search!

I have a domain with rank no 1 in google web search! When I search for the keyword which are the domainname in google adwords, keyword search I get 1.200.000 searches in that keyword. Our domain have only 10 visitors a day - why is that?

Google authorship works on posts, but not on root domain.

When I check Google authorship via the tool Google provides, it says I am confirmed for individual posts, but not for my root domain. I’m using WordPress, and individual posts are fine, but not the blog as a whole. I am the only author… and have given it a week, thinking perhaps it needed time... but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

What is your take on using Google images for blogs

In your opinion, do you think it is okay to use Google images for your blog posts as long as it credits or includes a link to the site in which you located it? We tried looking at stock art for some license-free photos and had no luck in coming up with good pictures. What rules or guidelines do you follow when looking for pictures for your customers blog (or your own)? A lot of our posts have to do with "what to do in this city" or "Where to go in this city". Do you think it's okay to use Google images for these types of posts?

About Google Instant Preview

Hi all, Please, I have a doubt about how Google Instant Preview works. My website is www.emagister.com, it’s a Spanish website and our servers are here in Spain (for the Spanish version of course) Sometimes, in some URLs appears Google Instant Preview image with the preview of my website that advises users that they could visit USA or German version of my Website while they visit the Spanish version www.emagister.com. Even though they stayed in German or USA…. Sometimes in the Instant Preview image it shows that they could visit the version in German or American even though the user is in Spain. Then when I click on the link, the text does not show up. Emagister gets 12 version (each country we have). I attached screen-shoot. So I was looking at updating my ping list in WP. Some of the lists I have come across have a lot of "blogsearch.google" What does a WP site risk in pinging all of these google properties?

Not accepted in Google news.

We see several other gambling sites already appearing within Google News’ pages, and we contend that, in most cases, our reporting is both timelier and more relevant. Using own domain for Google blog

Is it worth the effort using your own domain for a Google blog? After adding my own domain to a blog I see a boost in ranking, maybe the url has more value without the blogspot extension, or that Google might treat the (max.10) pages you produce under your own domain as "independent" thus giving you the chance of building your own domain trust...?
