Switching domains, need tips and trick?

I currently have my sub-product hosted on a subdomain that I have, for example say it is: x.mysite.com. I plan to migrate and move this to mysite.com. I was planning to do this by having mysite.com pointing to x.mysite.com and do a 301 redirect x.mysite.com to mysite.com. Is it as simple as that? Any other consideration, tips and tricks that I should be aware of so that my SERP doesn't get messed up.
Any articles or guides on this subject matter would be highly appreciated

Well, losing backlinks will absolutely mess with your rankings. Those links prove that you are providing content that other webmasters deem high quality.
I clicked through on your links, though, and it looks like you've already migrated everything. How did it go?

The current back links won't be relevant to new products. Here is a link of the old site and here is the link to the new site that will replace the old site.

What do you mean writing 'mysite.com pointing to x.mysite.com' ? But describe current content of mysite.com and when placing new products to mysite.com will be current back links relevant to new products?

Subdomain replaced domain in Google SERP
Good morning, This is my first post. I found many Q&As here that mostly answer my question, but just to be sure we do this right I'm hoping the community can take a peak at my thinking below: Problem: We are relevant rank #1 for "custom poker chips" for example. We have this development website on a subdomain (http://dev.chiplab.com). On Saturday our live 'chiplab.com' main domain was replaced by 'dev.chiplab.com' in the SERP. Expected Cause: We did not add NOFOLLOW to the header tag. We also did not DISALLOW the subdomain in the robots.txt. We could have also put the 'dev.chiplab.com' subdomain behind a password wall. Solution: Add NOFOLLOW header, update robots.txt on subdomain and disallow crawl/index. Question: If we remove the subdomain from Google using WMT, will this drop us completely from the SERP? In other words, we would ideally like our root chiplab.com domain to replace the subdomain to get us back to where we were before Saturday. If the removal tool in WMT just removes the link completely, then is the only solution to wait until the site is recrawled and reindexed and hope the root chiplab.com domain ranks in place of the subdomain again? #! (hashbang) check help needed
Does anybody have experience using hashbang? We tried to use it to solve indexation problem and I'm not fully sure do we use right solution now (developers did it with these FAQ and Guide to Ajax crawling as information source). One of our client has problem, that their e-shop categories, has solution where search engines aren't able to index all products. In this example a category, there is this "Näita kõiki (38)" that shows all category products for users but as I understand search engines aren't able to index it as /et#/activeTab=tab02 because of #. Now there is used #! (hashbang) and it is /et#!/activeTab=tab02. Is this correct solution? Also now example category URL is defferent for better indexation with:

How to switch to HTTPs in Bing?
I am creating a list of all things I need to do for switching a site over to HTTPs. I can find great instructions for Google, but nothing for Bing. If I do everything that Google requires, is the only thing I need to do for Bing is the site move?

Domain Issue
Starting a new local travel guide site. Would like to buy a domain and have found one with decent Domain Authority and Trust, but they want $2500 for the domain which I feel is a bit steep since I will be not using any of the content and it is generating hardly any revenue now. . I would rather not start from scratch with no links and no trust. I have a few questions.... -Any suggestions on sites to look for domains or strategy for finding and offering to buy? Website domain hosting and set-up for foreign domains?
Hi, I am just wondering what the best practice is for marketing a business in two separate countries? I have a new client that wants me to create their website targeted at the UK market which for me is normal but they also want to target Australia (Probably couldn't get any further away) My initial thoughts are that the business would need two separate websites. The first one in the uk and the second website hosted on servers in Australia with different content.
