How to fix this issue?
-
I redesign my website from Wix to HTML.
Now URLs changed to _
http://www.spinteedubai.com/#!how-it-works/c46c
To
http://www.spinteedubai.com/how-it-works.html
Same for all other pages. How I can fix this issue and both pages were also indexed in google.

Hi Alexander,
While there are some server-side technical things you can do to force a 404 error for a given URL, the best thing to do is remove the content in question from your server. At the very least this should achieve getting a 404 status code when you attempt to visit the URL that once housed the content. Ideally, if you can configure a custom 404 page that is more user-friendly, that's even better.
Now, depending on how your server is configured, there may be instances when a URL should produce a 404 error, but doesn't. I only bring this scenario up as a possibility because it's something I am currently dealing with on one of the sites I manage.
In any case, you may need to work closely with your server administrator or Web developer to achieve what you need. Most likely, it's just a matter of removing the old content from the server. Hope that helps!

How can I add 404 error? What are the steps?
-
Hi Alexander,
It looks like you've implemented the canonical tags properly. It can, however, take Google a very, very long time (sometimes years) to remove old content. If you really want the old page/URL out of Google's index, the very best and quickest way to achieve that is to make sure that the old page produces a proper 404 status code then use GWT's Remove URL tool to request Google to remove it from their index. This still isn't immediate, but I've seen URLs removed in as little as a week using this method. Hope that helps!

Hi Alexander,
You can either 301 the old page http://www.spinteedubai.com/#!how-it-works/c46c into the new page http://www.spinteedubai.com/how-it-works.html
or you can set up rel=canonical tag if its the same content and you want the keep the URL.
You would then have to either wait or use this to remove the URL - https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

Any crawl issues with TLS 1.3?
Not a techie here...maybe this is to be expected, but ever since one of my client sites has switched to TLS 1.3, I've had a couple of crawl issues and other hiccups. First, I noticed that I can't use HTTPSTATUS.io any more...it renders an error message for URLs on the site in question. I wrote to their support desk and they said they haven't updated to 1.3 yet. Bummer, because I loved httpstatus.io's functionality, esp. getting bulk reports. Also, my Moz campaign crawls were failing. We are setting up a robots.txt directive to allow rogerbot (and the other bot), and will see if that works. These fails are consistent with the date we switched to 1.3, and some testing confirmed it. Anyone else seeing these types of issues, and can suggest any workarounds, solves, hacks to make my life easier? (including an alternative to httpstatus.io...I have and use screaming frog...not as slick, I'm afraid!) Do you think there was a configuration error with the client's TLS 1.3 upgrade, or maybe they're using a problematic/older version of 1.3?? Thanks -

Duplicate Page Titles Issue in Campaign Crawl Error Report
Hello All! Looking at my campaign I noticed that I have a large number of 'duplicate page titles' showing up but all they are the various pages at the end of the URL. Such as, http://thelemonbowl.com/tag/chocolate/page/2 as a duplicate of http://thelemonbowl.com/tag/chocolate. Any suggestions on how to address this? Thanks!

How best to fix 301 redirect problems
Hi all Wondering if anyone could help out with this one. Roger Bot crawler has just performed it's weekly error crawl on my site and I appear to have 18,613 temp redirect problems!! Rather, the same 1 problem 18,613 times. My site is a magento store and the errors it is giving me is due to the wishlist feature on the site. For example, it is trying to crawl links such as index.php/wishlist/index/add/product/29416/form_key/DBDSNAJOfP2YGgfW (which would normally add the item to one's wishlist). However, because Roger isn't logged into the website it means that all these requests are being sent to the login url with the page title of Please Enable Cookies. Would the best way to fix this be to enable wishlists for guests? I would rather not do that but cannot think of another way of fixing it. Any other Magento people come across this issue? Thanks, Carl

Sitemap issue - Tons of 404 errors
We've recreated a client site in a subdirectory (mysite.com/newsite) of his domain and when it was ready to go live, added code to the htaccess file in order to display the revamped website on the main url. These are the directions that were followed to do this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory and http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#When_Your_Domain_Name_or_URLs_Change. This has worked perfectly except that we are now receiving a lot of 404 errors am I'm wondering if this isn't the root of our evil. This is a WordPress self-hosted website and we are actively using the WordPress SEO plugin that creates multiple folders with only 50 links in each. The sitemap_index.xml file tests well in Google Analytics but is pulling a number of links from the subdirectory folder. I'm wondering if it really is the manner in which we made the site live that is our issue or if there is another problem that I cannot see yet. What is the best way to attack this issue? Any clues? The site in question is www.atozqualityfencing.com https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/

Can a Novice Fix Parallelize Issues?
I was working yesterday on making my WP site quicker (sellingwarnerrobins.com) and after updating the htaccess file to solve some "Leverage Browser Caching" issues I re-ran a scan on Pingdom Tools and am now getting a zero for "Parallelize downloads across hostnames" with a list of 34 items to fix. I did some web searches and when the articles started talking about cnames, subdomains, and hostname distribution it went beyond my capabilities. Are these Parallelize "issues" something a novice like myself can easily fix? If so, how?

How can we fix duplicate title tags like these being reported in GWT?
Hi all, I posted this in the GWT Forum on Monday and still no answers so I will try here. Our URL is http://www.ccisolutions.com
Technical SEO | | danatanseo
We have over 200 pages on our site being flagged by GWT as having
duplicate title tags. The majority of them look similar to this: Title: <a>JBL EON MusicMix 16 | Mixer | CCI Solutions</a> GWT is reporting these URLs to have all the same title: /StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Category/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Footer/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?Origin=Header/StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=../StoreFront/product/R-JBL-MUSICMIX.prod?origin=GoogleBase These are all the same page. There was a time when we used these origin codes, but we stopped using them over a year ago. We also added canonical tags to every page to prevent us from having duplicate content issues. However, these origin codes are
still showing up in GWT. Is there anything we can do to fix this problem. Do we have a technical issue with our site code and the way Google is seeing our dynamic URLs? Any suggestions on how we can fix this problem? The same is true in our report for Meta descriptions. Thanks
you,

Duplicate page content issue needs resolution.
After my last "crawl" report, I received a warning about "duplicate page content". One page was: http://anycompany.com and the other was: http://anycompany.com/home.html How do I correct this so these pages aren't competing with each other or is this a problem?

"Too Many On-Page Links" Issue
I'm being docked for too many on page links on every page on the site, and I believe it is because the drop down nav has about 130 links in it. It's because we have a few levels of dropdowns, so you can get to any page from the main page. The site is here - http://www.ibethel.org/ Is what I'm doing just a bad practice and the dropdowns shouldn't give as much information? Or is there something different I should do with the links? Maybe a no-follow on the last tier of dropdown?
