Analytics account will not stayed connected, listed fixes do not work.
-
I've had my MOZ account for a while and have just dealt with this issue for a while now but it is really getting annyoing. My Google Analytics account will not stay connected.
Eveery time I refresh a page or click to a different page, I get a notification that reads "Our connection to your Google Analytics account was lost. Don't worry, you won't lose any data. Please reauthorize now."
I click the link to reauthorize and it says it was successful, But then as soon as I refresh the page or click to a new page withing Moz Pro, the message appears again.
I've tried the fixes listed in all the other questions about this issue
- Follow this link https://accounts.google.com/b/0/IssuedAuthSubTokens. This page displays the current OAuth tokens you are using.
- Once you reach the page, simply press the revoke button (illustrated on this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/vjh3KrjRRIe) for services that you are not using right now, as well as your current Moz token.
- Once you are done with that, simply go back to your campaign settings, disconnect your GA profile and reconnect (I recommend you use a fresh incognito window).
And they do not work. Please help me solve this very annyoing issue!
-
Wow that actually worked!!!! Thanks you have solved the issue!
-
No, my tokens were fine. I just reconnected it several times till it stuck.
-
It's nice to hear you didn't get a copy and paste answers like I got. What steps did you take to solve the issue, or did the revoking of tokens finally work?
-
Yes, my account is connected right now. When this has happened before, it was on-and off for a little while, then on for a long time, then on-and off...
I did receive a nice response from Moz Help, which said in part: "We are trying to improve our relationship with Google so this connection can become less finicky."
So it sounds like this is perhaps a problem with the connection between Moz and Google in general?
-
Linda did you ever get your issue resolved?
-
Just a heads up to everyone. If you contact support via email like Sean suggested above this is the response you will get.
Normally this error is a result of Google going through a process called Oauth when it comes to authorizing access of services that are linked to your Google account. Under any single Google account, there are about 20 tokens account wide. Those tokens are used to provide access for a variety of services from Gmail to apps on your phone. Once you hit the limit, which is 20 for most users, the system automatically revokes the oldest token to provide a new one. I'm not certain if this is causing the issue on your account, but it is a great place to start troubleshooting.
You may be able to correct the issue by manually revoking your tokens to make room for new ones on your account and then reconnecting the account to Moz. Here are the instructions on how to do that:
- Follow this link https://accounts.google.com/b/0/IssuedAuthSubTokens. This page displays the current OAuth tokens you are using.
- Once you reach the page, simply press the revoke button (illustrated on this screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/vjh3KrjRRIe) for services that you are not using right now.
- Once you are done with, that simply go back to your campaign settings, disconnect your GA profile and reconnect.
I hope that helps, but please let me know if you are still seeing the error after you've done this or if you have less than 20 tokens on your account.
Look familiar? Yes it is the same instructions posted all over this forum. The worst part is when you reply to help saying you have tried this and it is still not working they will literally send you the exact same verbatim response. In fact they sent me this verbatim response for all 3 responses to my help email... You will also get the same people answering your email that answer in this forum, so I guess there is no Tier 1, 2, or 3, support. This issue is still not resolved for my account.

Nope I already tried that and did it again just in case... No Joy

Hi mr_w,
I am sorry to hear that you have been having trouble with your Google Analytics connection.:(
If you have persistent issues with GA we generally recommend that you delete your Google Analytics information from your Moz account settings and attempt to set it up again.
If this does not resolve the situation feel free to send a ticket to help@moz.com and we should be able to look further into the situation.
Hopefully this helps and if you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us!
Have a wonderful day.:)

I have been seeing this exact same thing and also have been having this problem on and off for quite a while. It recently got worse again and when I contacted customer service, they just told me how to reconnect it. (Which I already knew from previous experience. I mentioned that I was not happy about this.)

On Page Optimization and Page Grader in Moz Needs Some Fixes
Okay, so I've brought this up a couple times to your team and have always been met with resistance and confusion, but I really feel like the fundamental design of your on page grader (the auto one) needs some changes in order to be really useful. Let's start with the basics. An on page grader is supposed to be a tool where you can enter your keyword or keywords and have it scan the URL to see how well the keyword has been implemented on the page. It checks for heading use, anchor text, alt tags, frequency of use, etc. We all should get this if we are here. Now, your manual page grader does just that and does a great job of it. I find it very useful for checking newly created pages, landing pages, competitor pages and the like. However, your auto version found in the Search > On-Page Optimizations is the culprit here. So, according to several staff at Moz, this tool scans your site every week when the rest of your site scan is done. It then takes the rankings of pages for ranked and tracked keywords and assigns a grade for that page. Here's the major problem.... in almost all of my accounts, it very rarely gets the association with keyword and URL correct. Thus, it returns a low page grade even though the grade of the URL would be an A or B for the correct keyword. What seems to be happening is I'm tracking multiple keywords, sometime close variations. This grade tool in a lot of cases is grading a page more than once for several keywords it's ranking for. All the variants it gets a low grade for because the exact keywords isn't in the title, headings, etc. The second thing that seems to be happening is some pages are not being graded using the primary keyword, but instead a variation. In this case it only shows low grades for the page. On one occurrence of trying to discuss this issue with you, I got scoffed at for saying the tool was "guessing at which keyword to use for the grade". Your staff was very adamant in saying "it's not a guess!" My counter point was, call it what you want, it's in accurate to the intended keyword to be optimized for. Now, when one first gets to this tool, all of the above doesn't seem like that big of a deal because there's an "add & manage page grade" section. This section allows you to add and manage page grades. So, one would think that you could go to this tool, add an page grades for keywords that the tool didn't automatically associate and delete ones that it added with an incorrect association and that would be the end of it. However, that's NOT quite the end of it. At your own admission, the tool doesn't function like that. Each week when a new scan is completed, these pages grades essentially reset. So any page grade that you deleted will simply show right back up again. Now, before I go any further, let me explain why this is such an issue for me. First, on page optimization is something my company does and sells as a service and we are pretty good at it. Not saying we're the best, but we're better than most. That said, one of my reasons for choosing Moz was because according to the verbiage on the pages, one can create branded reports to include on page optimization. However, when the tool doesn't get the right keyword to landing page AND there's no way to manually override it, then basically all of my reports make it look like my pages grades suck, when in face they don't. Now, if in my campaigns I only added the exact keyword for each page and didn't do any variations of, then this tools becomes much more accurate. However, I want to track multiple variations. Bottom line is this: I need a page grading and reporting tool I can count on and actually use. Thus far, you solution is riddled with problems and every time I bring it up, you fight me on it saying it's working as it's supposed to. What I'm saying here is "as it's supposed to" is fundamentally wrong. I'd like to discuss this with someone at this point, and preferably someone a bit higher up than a first tier support person because frankly, I'm not getting anywhere. Overall I love your service, but it's things like this that have me questioning wether or not Moz is right. I'm giving you opportunity after opportunity to prove to me that it is. Help me work this out so we can continue that trend. Thanks, Micha

Analytics reauthorisation
On a number of my campaigns, Moz is continually asking me to reauthorise analytics. I reconnect and then if I refresh the page, back comes the reauthorisation warning - this is a fairly new occurrence, it used to work perfectly. Thanks for your help.

Campaign lost connection to Google analytic's
Hi, I have a website that I has two Campaigns, one is its performance in the UK and the other is in America. Both of these project use to work and gather information from Google analytic's but recently the UK campaign has started saying it can not connect to Google analytic's and stopped providing information. The problem is both the UK and US campaigns use the same analytic's tracking code and the US campaign can still gather Google analytic's information so I know the tracking information is correct still.

why can the UK campaign no longer connect properly? Thank you in advanced.0 -
Back to Pro in New Moz Analytics Accounts?
I have two accounts with Moz.com Account One (about a year old) has both the options to switch over between Moz Pro and Moz Analytics. Account Two (a trial so far) just has the option to use Moz Analytics. So new or trial accounts don't have access to Moz Pro?
