Changing my title tags
-
My title tags always get changed, i label them correctly, no too long or short and they always get changed, any ideas?
-
Matt Cutts just released a video that addresses this exact question - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3HX_8BAhB4

They even change the title tags for companies like Apple, so it's not related to links.
You can use Open Site Explorer, Google Webmaster Tools, and several other tools to look at links to your site and see what kind of links you do have.

Yes if you go to site:benjaminmarc.com my title tags are different then in the serps. I have a feeling I'm looking ranking because if this. Also do you know any tool that will help determine if i have bad links pointing to my site?
-
If you are talking about Google changing your Title tags, it could be because they are wanting to show it the way that they want to.
It happens to me, and I know others. Google just decides what is the best tag
-
Do you mean your title tags in the SERPs? Google is known for changing title tags, especially based on the search used.

site:benjaminmarc.com, html, they just change this week.
-
What is the URL of the website? What CMS are you using? When/how often do they change? What do they change from/to?
Need more details.

Canonical tags in the body?
Hi there, Does anyone know if placing canonical tags in the body instead of the header of a page will still "take"? The system we are on means that making an editable header is no easy business and I was just wondering how big of a difference it makes to have it in a different area. Thank you in advance.

Should I add canonical tag on these pages?
Hi folks I have some pages that used to rank pretty well..but I believe it is affected due to the content similarities. Here is one the sub category pages http://www.ilovebodykits.com/category/98/2/Full-Body-Kits_Duraflex.html the main category page http://www.ilovebodykits.com/category/98/Exterior_Body-Styling_Full-Body-Kits.html These 2 links have very similar contents. The content are dynamic generated by template and I don't think I am able to change content for each individual pages since there are over 2000-3000 of them or more. Should I use canonical tag on the Duraflex.html page to give the main category page all the link juices and credits? There are about 20 other pages like this under this main category. Is it right to canonical all of them? Please let me know if anyone has any suggestion.. thanks

Global Meta Data and Titles
I am working on an e-commerce website with Volusion. I have 1 main keyword that I am really trying to focus on for my home page. Last week I was in position #7 for this keyword, and I have never been off the first page of Google for it. Using Volusion you can Globally set a Title and meta description for any pages that do not already have a title or description. I noticed my Global title had the same keyword as I was using for my home page and thought that, that might be taking away some importance from my keyword, so I changed the Global Title to a different keyword. When I looked at my SEO moz rankings today, which crawled last night it said My keyword was #24 on Google. I checked and as of now I am in position #11. Like I said before, I have never not been on the first page for this keyword. Does anyone think that changing the Global title may have been the cause for this??

Tags or Categories: Which is best?
I seem to have duplicate issues on my website due to tags and categories having the same title. If I was to delete one of the two, which would be better to delete? Thanks!

Best title tag structure?
Hi, In the below example, which one do you think would work best if any. The website is called greatshoes.co.uk (fictitious) The category is 'work shoes' and a page under this cat is lets say 'Size 9 work shoes' I tend to build my title tags like this: size 9 work shoes, cheap size 9 work shoes | greatshoes.co.uk BUT I have read on here it should be more like this: size 9 work shoes < work shoes | greatshoes.co.uk Does anyone think it would make a difference when targeting for the term 'size 9 work shoes' which title tag I use. Cheers
