Combine .com and .co.uk domain? So forward .co.uk to .com for SEO?

Hello,
A new client of mine has an .com and an .co.uk domain. Both the same content (and they don't have the capacity to make specific content on both domains).
I am thinking building al domain authority to 1 domain. In this case the .com domain.
And forward the .co.uk to this .com domain.
In this way, the .com will rank in both UK as in other English speaking countries, right? Or not?
Or should I use therel="alternate" hreflang="x" tag?I am not sure. But I do know big brands rank high in the Netherlands with .com domains (for example booking.com).
Looking forward on feedback on best practices here...

As far as I can see, if the content is exactly the same on both the .com and .co.uk sites and you intend to keep it this way for the forseeable future, then there is no point maintaining both. Put all your efforts into developing and maintaining the .com site. Not only will this ensure that you are able to build the authority of one domain, it will also ensure that all your social media activities will be for the one site rather than sharing both .com and .co.uk URLs.
Alternatively, if you want to differentiate your content slightly for a global and a separate UK audience then hreflang across the.com and .co.uk sites is the way to go.

Ok, thanks. This is helpful. But I am still wondering if it wouldn't be better if the client only uses the .com domain and target with this domain also in the UK.
In this way you only have to build authority on the .com domain instead of on two domains?Or does Google sent the authority build on the .com domain trough to the .co.uk domain with these codes?

Hi,
Instead of implementing 301 redirects, would recommend that you implement Alternate tags.
Assuming that you have only .com and .co.uk domains and that .com domain caters to the whole world, the following code needs to be placed -
In case .com caters to US then place the following code -
The highlighted part will vary depending on the URL of the pages.
In addition you can also specify alternate tags in the XML sitemap. You can refer Google support document here

SEO - Use pages on main site or set up outside keyword rich domains and websites
I have a client who is wanting to target searches for competitors products. His idea was to purchase domains related to the searches he's targeting (for example, people looking for another company's app) and to build out one page websites addressing the search query and why a customer would choose his app solution over a competitor. I know he'd have to build a handful of links to each site for any chance of success but I wanted to ask the following.. Would doing this be better than just building pages addressing the searches on his main website domain? Is there an SEO risk to doing this? Potential for a penalty? Something happened within the last 2 weeks on our WordPress-hosted site that created "duplicates" by counting www.company.com/example and company.com/example (without the 'www.') as separate pages. Any idea what could have happened, and how to fix it?
Our website is running through WordPress. We've been running Moz for over a month now. Only recently, within the past 2 weeks, have we been alerted to over 100 duplicate pages. It appears something happened that created a duplicate of every single page on our site; "www.company.com/example" and "company.com/example." Again, according to our MOZ, this is a recent issue. I'm almost certain that prior to a couple of weeks ago, there existed both forms of the URL that directed to the same page without be counting as a duplicate. Thanks for you help!

Should we host our magazine on a subdomain of E-com site or its own domain?
We host a online fashion magazine on a subdomain of our e-commerce site. Currently we host the blog which is word press based on a subdomain ex: stylemag.xxxxxxx.com First question is are all the links from our blog considered internal links? They do not show in the back links profile. Also would it be better to host this on its own domain? Second question Is my main URL getting credit for the unique content published to the blog on the subdomain and if so is it helping the overall SEO of my website more then if it and the links were hosted on its own wordpress.com

Redirect domain or keep separate domains in each country?

My main site is www.isacleanse.com.au (Obviously targeted to Australian Market) and also www.isacleanse.co.nz targeted to NZ. The main Keywords im targeting are 'Isagenix' for both and also Isagenix Australia, Isagenix Perth, Sydney (Australian cities) and Isagenix NZ, Isagenix New Zealand, Isagenix Auckland etc.. for NZ The Australian site gets a lot more traffic and Australian market gets a lot more searches - I also have a section www.isacleanse.com.au/isagenix-new-zealand/ on the Australian site. The question is am I best off redirrecting the .co.nz domain completley to the Australian Domain to give it extra SEO Juice?0 -

Multiple domain level redirects to unique sub-folder on one domain...
Hi, I have a restaurant menu directory listing website (for example www.menus.com). Restaurant can have there menu listed on this site along with other details such as opening hours, photos ect. An example of a restaurant url might be www.menus.com/london/bobs-pizza. A feature i would like to offer is the ability for Bob's pizza to use the menus.com website listing as his own website (let assume he has no website currently). I would like to purchase www.bobspizza.com and 301 redirect to www.menus.com/london/bobs-pizza Why?

So bob can then list bobspizza.com on his advertising material (business cards etc, rather than www.menus.com/london/bobs-pizza). I was considering using a 301 redirect for this though have been told that too many domain level redirects to one single domain can be flagged as spam by Google. Is there any other way to achieve this outcome without being penalised? Rel canonical url, url masking? Other things to note: It is fine if www.bobspizza.com is NOT listed in search results. I would ideally like any link juice pointing to www.bobspizza.com to pass onto www.menus.com though this is a nice to have. I am frustrated by a lack of progress for a major keyword I want to rank for. I have made several pages, optimized with Onpage and even a whole site but I can't seem to get my ratings up.
