Landing pages report - Meaning of clics metric
-
Hi there,
I am looking at the landing pages report on Google Analytics, I see 4 columns:
Impressiones
Clics
Average position
CTR
Regarding the clics metric, this shouldn't be equal to the sessions of organic traffic that you get? In Adwords, a clic is a session.
What I see is that clics are not sessions and I am a bit surprised of this. Why are they different in this report?
Thanks and regards

Hi there,
Yes, you are right, I should have specified the kind of report I was talking about.
Ok, I know what you mean but I don't understand a big discrepancy. I would count with small difference which make sense not this.
For the same time range, look at this discrepancy:
-
Clics on the landing pages report under Search Engine Optimization Section in Google Analytics are 13007
-
The number of organic search sessions under channels section in GA are 3995
-
Number of clics on Google Webmaster Tools / Search Traffic / Search queries / Landing pages tab: 1719
Does this make sense?
Thanks and regards

It took me a minute to figure out what you meant but you should have specified that you meant the landing page report under the Search Engine Optimization Section in Google Analytics. The Search Engine Optimization section pulls its data from Google Webmaster Tools, which is known for having data that is completely accurate.
This is data as reported from Google's end and not by the analytics code on your website. Someone could have clicked your search result and then hit the back button before loading your page or users could have javascript disabled, which would skew the data. I wouldn't use this tool as more than a rough estimate. The data is not going to match up with analytics, so you shouldn't expect it to.

Google Analytics is treating my blog like all the content is just on the home page.
Hello all, I installed Google Analytics on a main website and a blog (blog.travelexinsurance.com) While it appears to be tracking correctly (and when I test it in real time it shows that I'm visiting) but it is treating the entire blog as though it's one page. So I can't see data on blog post X. All I see is that X visitors came to my blog in aggregate. So I see blog.travelex.com has 999 visitors, but it doesn't show that /travel-luggage got 50 visits, while /insurace-tips got 75 and so forth. I assume I screwed up the tracking somehow, but can't figure out where I went wrong. Tracking on the main domain works just fine. It's specific to the blog.

Deleted Rarely Visited Pages - Traffic Dropped (Big Time)
Hi folks: I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have on a problem I am having with organic traffic. One of our sites has about 500 pages/blog posts. We had about 200 pages that no one was visiting, or only one to ten people had visited in an entire year. As a result, we decided to experiment, and delete any page which had fewer than 5 visits in a year. This resulted in a deletion of about 90 pages. We did this on April 6 or 7 of this year. Two days later, we had a substantial drop in visits to the site. We had been getting about 300 sessions a day. Now, we are lucky to get that in a month. I know there was an algorithm update in late March, but our traffic dropped about two weeks after that, and a day or so after the deletion of the pages. There is a clear demarcation on analytics. I gave it a month, the traffic did not recover, so we decided to restore the pages. Traffic has not recovered and it has been about 3 months now. Does anyone have any thoughts on why we might have experienced such a drastic drop as well as what we might do to recover from it? Thanks very much

How do I cancel a scheduled Dashboard report in Google Analytics?
I created a few Dashboards in Google Analytics and scheduled them to be emailed for the next 6 months. Now I want to cancel those scheduled emails and am not finding those Dashboard reports/emails anywhere so I can cancel them. Do you know how to stop these emails from being sent?

Reported data in Multi-channel funnels in GA wrong?
I'd love to start using the Multi-channel funnels feature in Google Analytics but I have zero confidence in the reported data as it seems to bear no relationship to the standard ecomm reports. To be specific, in August 2013, MCF is reporting the following for email campaigns: Assisted conversions = 20
Reporting & Analytics | | Bluesnapper
Assisted conversion value = £1,405.91
Last Click or Direct Conversions = 14
Last Click or Direct Conversion Value = £369.57 Now switching to the traffic sources report, GA reports for the email campaigns revenue was £1,226,41 over the same period across 21 transactions. My interpretation of this is that the email campaigns were the "last-click" and delivered £1,226,41 and 21 "conversions" (as I have no goals configured in this GA view, conversions = transactions I believe) That leaves the MCF last-click report short by £856.84 (£1,226,41 - £369.57) I can see no reason why this should be so unless I'm not interpreting the data correctly! Anybody have any suggestions/ideas as to what's going on? Any help appreciated.0 -
Are Click-Through rates & Bounce Rates as Ranking Metrics ?
There are lots of articles around but I would prefer to see what everyone here has to say about it. Are they ranking metrics ( directly or In-directly )? If they are then how to get it right? Can i depend on Google In-page analytic? What is an acceptable Bounce rate for a home page ? What is an average click through rate for your landing page ? thanks

Time on page: What happens when I open many tabs?
Hello everyone, I was studying Analytics, and checked that the time on page is calculated by the diference of the time you entered the page and when you click to go to another one. But how the time is calculated when I open several links using new tabs in different moments? Does Google counts the last tab? Just a guess... Thanks!
