Why does it show (in Moz) that we don't have any meta descriptions on our site when we do?
-
We have over 1,330 pages that say we are "Missing Meta Description Tag" when I spot check all of them have meta descriptions? Can you please explain to me why Moz is picking up that we do not have meta descriptions when we do. Our website http://www.betheboss.ca
Please help. I would like a accurate measure of meta descriptions that are missing.

Interesting, Lesley - I hadn't made that connection - that Google may have different crawlers for rich snippets and 'normal' pages. Makes sense really, especially when you consider the data highlighter tool in WMT. Good point and I'm pleased I read this posting now!

ok, great. Thank you for your help!

I personally would make them separate. The reason being is we do not know specifically how all of the crawlers are designed. Some might pick it up, others might not. I would look at it a better safe than sorry type situation.
edit: Sorry for the ninja edits, but I ran a couple of pages through a few crawlers and none picked up the meta description. The itemprop is throwing it off. I would do two different tags, the tradition and the rich ones. The reason being there is a collision in the naming convention and I honestly have no data on what crawlers would support in that sense. From what I have observed, and I could be wrong, but I think google might actually use a different crawler for rich markup. The reason being is that normally I can get pages indexed on the first crawl, but it takes a lot of time for the snippets to get indexed. Either they use a different crawler or some kind of review process.

Can you give the instance of a couple of pages it does not register them on?
edit: After looking at your main page it looks like you are using a combination of rich snippet / meta description. Have you tried adding the meta description in the normal manner?
IE you have
itemprop="description" content="BeTheBoss makes it easy to find the best franchises in Canada. Search our directory for the top Canadian franchise opportunities and businesses for sale." />
Normally it is written
description" content="BeTheBoss makes it easy to find the best franchises in Canada. Search our directory for the top Canadian franchise opportunities and businesses for sale." />
I cannot find any information if search engines will actually accept a meta description with the rich mark up, I would play it safe and do both.

I bought a domain name https://ez1.in and it has a high MOZ spam score. Although it is because of the previous webmaster who used this domain as a URL shortening website. But now I am using it as a service delivery website. I wanted to know once a domain is deleted and ready to resell MOZ doesn't update its Spam score? Or it has periodic updates that are scheduled? How does the whole process work?

How can I find duplicate pages from a Moz Crawl?
We have many duplicate pages that show up on the Moz Crawl, and we're trying to fix these but it's very difficult because I can't see a way to isolate the code where the duplicate is found. For instance, http://experiencemission.org/immersion/ is one of our main pages, and the crawl shows one duplicate of http://experiencemission.org/immersion. It appears that one of our staff manually edited the source code in one of our pages but forgot the trailing slash. This would be an easy fix but the problem is that this page is linked to internally on our website 2423 times, so it's next to impossible to find the code that is incorrect. We have many other pages with this same basic problem. We know we have duplicates, but it's next to impossible to isolate them. So my question is this: When viewing the Moz Crawl data is there any way to see where a specific duplicate page link is located on our website? Thanks for any and all help!

The Moz Spam Score tells me my site has too few backlinks for such a large site. How many links per page would I need to not trigger this filter and stop appearing spammy?
Hello! One of my sites is triggering the 'too few backlinks for large site' filter. I am wondering how many backlinks I need so as not to trigger this. Many thanks for your help. Toby

How do you feel when Moz marks one of your questions as "answered?"
Hi everyone, This is not meant to be snarky at all, so I just want to preface my question with that. So, since the new re-branded Moz rolled out last year, I'm sure many of you have noticed that if you ask a question and it is answered by a Moz associate, your question is marked as "answered." I'm sorry, but I don't like this. Here's why, I'm the one who asked the question. I should be the one who determines if the answer was adequate for me, or if it didn't sufficiently answer my question. This is particularly true when my question doesn't have to do with a customer service issue or a Moz tool question. If I ask a question about SEO, Content, CRO, marketing or any other subject, I feel like it should be me and only me who determines whether or not I feel like my question is answered. In addition to this, Moz is actually depriving themselves of useful UGC by shutting down questions in this way. How? Because when the rest of us who frequent the Q & A see a question that's already been marked as "answered" we tend not to open it, read it and respond, because we think that person has already gotten what they needed....when in fact, it could be that a Moz associate has jumped in and marked their question as answered when it really wasn't. Consequently, we all miss out. I propose/move that Moz associates can only mark questions as "answered" when they pertain directly to Q & A about Moz tools, service and support. All other questions must be marked as "answered" only by the asker or closed as "answered" after they have been dormant for 6 months or more. Can I get a second (motion) ?

Dupe content report showing in 'Errors' section when surely should be in 'Warnings' section ?
Why is the dupe content info showing in errors and not warnings ? Since if dupe content can get your site penalised (as per Panda) or worse banned, surely it should be in that section of reports ? Cheers

Since the revised website was launched, I can't find the "Crawl Test" function showing Titles and Descriptions of other websites. Anyone know where that link is located?
MOZ can "crawl" any website and show information like Title, Description, etc.....Can't find that link.
