Right way to find quality free/non free directories to submit web page
-
I have one question about link building. What will be right way to find quality free/non free directories to submit my web page. My web page thematic is nail-art. Thanks and best regards

Directories are unlikely to get you better rankings, many directories have been devalued in recent months. Given that many of them are freemium, you are better spending your time writing a great piece of content and reaching out to bloggers/websites to help you spread the word about your brand.
1. Always start with the onpage optimisation, without it your backlinks will mean little. Think more about site speed, URL structure and user benefit because this is what will give you a better conversion rate.
2. It is possible but as Gavo said below, it depends on how competitive the keywords are. Look at interacting with people on social media, follow them, look at how they would like to be connected with and do so. For example, if some influential in your industry is talking about a particular topic, put your spin on things and get a conversation going. This will help make you an authority in this industry.

In response to your questions....

Onsite SEO I think initially takes priority and should be the first thing you focus on.

You can get on google without any backlinks or with only a few backlinks. However, this depends on (a) What keywords you're targeting, if they are not competitive, this can be achieved (b) the quality of your backlinks if you just have a few. If they are of exceptional quality, you can be right at the top, though once again depending on the competitiveness of the keyword you're targeting.
All the best!

Hi, thank you for your help.
In first step, I want to use it for my SEO benefits, to get better position on google.
I have few newbie questions.
1. To compare, onpage seo and backlinks, in start, what to have as priority?
2. Is it possible to get good position on google without backlinks or with only few backlinks?
Thank you

Good response by James.
To add to the conversation I would also advise that you be clear about why you are wanting to get a link in a directory: is it to get traffic through those directories that will best result in an enquiry for your business? or for SEO benefits? (Though these two questions are obviously not mutually exclusive).
If it is to get traffic that will potentially lead to an enquiry, seek to find the popular directories either in (1) your industry (2) your locality. Being in nail art your industry may be something along the lines of beauty services.
I would proceed to go to what I think is the best link finding tool which is Google itself. To find good directories, you could possibly type in "beauty services directory + [your country]" and see what you get. This would result in niche directories that I think would best allow to achieve your purposes. Not all of them will be free, so you will have to sort the free from the paid. You will also have to enter in different search terms potentially to yield more directories of which you have an opportunity to submit a link.
If your main goal is to get better rankings by directory submissions, you want to also ensure that the directory has good metrics (i.e. Domain authority). Implementing the Moz Bar will help with that. You also want to make sure that the directory doesn't look dodgy and established for the sole purpose of just building links.
All the best!

There is a existing question on this topic, it has some directory ideas,

Once you take a look maybe the tools mentioned in this article will help you evaluate the directories you find,

Hope this helps,

Find Historical SERP Ranking for a Term?
Is there any way to find out what pages ranked for a given term historically? I.e. what were the top 10 search results for "Widgets" 6 months ago, 1 year ago, 2 years ago? If I had a campaign tracking that term, I'd be able to look back, but I do not. Does this data exist anywhere in a format that could be queried?

Finding all search terms/keywords
Hi everyone! Is there a report I can run on SEOMoz that will show all of the search terms that people are using to find my site? I want to analyze where I am doing well and where I can use some work, but I'd like to have that as a starting point. Thanks in advance!

Unable to crawl pages
Hi, I am trying to set up a campaign for our website - www.salvationarmy.org.au however, I can't seem to get a scan of more than three pages. I have tried the following: www.salvationarmy.org.au (only 2 pages) www.salvationarmy.org.au/home (only 1 page) salvationarmy.org.au (only 3 pages) There is a geo IP redirect on www.salvationarmy.org.au but the second domain listed above should resolve the full site. I'm a newbie to SEOmoz so any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Mel

Issue in number of pages crawled
i wanted to figure out how our friend Roger Bot works. On the first crawl of one of my large sites, the number of pages crawled stopped at 10000 (due to the restriction on the pro account). However after a few weeks, the number of pages crawled went down to about 5500. This number seemed to be a more accurate count of the pages on our site. Today, it seems that Roger Bot has completed another crawl and the number is up to 10000 again. I know there has been no downtime on our site, and the items that we fixed on our site did not reduce or increase the number of pages we had. Just making sure there are no known issues with Roger Bot before I look deeper into our site to see if there is an issue. Thanks!

How to rank each page correctly in the search engines
Hello everyone, I am new to SEOmoz and SEO in general. I am trying to wrap my head around everything and one of the issues I am having trouble grasping is how each individual page on our website plays into ranking for certain keywords. I will explain in more detail below: 1.) We are not a blog, we have a pretty static website. 2.) We can add as many pages to our website as needed (for SEO purposes) 3.) Our site is fairly small, about 25 pages on the website. Now with that information above, here are our main questions & concerns: 1.) What is the best way to rank in the search engines for 50 of our best converting keywords with only 25 pages on our website? 2.) We have 2-3 competitors that rank in positions 1-3 for about 30 of our keywords we are trying to rank for. But no matter what you type in, for example, "cars" "buy cars" "buy a car online" "truck prices" etc, the results that the search engines display our their homepages. Not the other pages on their websites that actually rank for each one of those individual keywords. Is this normal? That is something that we would like for our rankings to do if we have any control over it. 3.) Should each page try to rank for a unique individual keyword? For example, when using the SEOmoz On-page Optimization tool, should I try ranking 2 pages for "buy cars online" or just 1 page? Say my homepage has an "A" grade for the keyword, "buy cars online" but so does my second page on my website. Are these pages essentially competing with each other? Or will the search engines pick their favorite page and display the one they like the best? Any help is greatly appreciated and I look forward to getting this cleared up. Thanks

Duplicate page content reports duplicates, but pages don't show duplication
My duplicate page reports shows 376 pages with duplicate content. After reviewing the pages the report claims have duplicate content, i can't find duplications. could this be an error, or is there some source code that doesn't display that could be causing this issue?

Is there a Tool to compare Duplicate content for non web Live content?
Is there a tool that can give me % of duplicate content when comparing two pieces of content that are not Live on the web? Like copyscape but for content that may not be indexed by copyscape or not live on the web? Does Word or any other program allow you do do this?
