Rich Snippets Showing in Site:Search Queries Only?
-
Hey Mozzers,
I'm noticing that several sites of mine are triggering rich snippets for REVIEWS when I do site:search, however when I remove the site:search their results are stripped of rich snippets.
Any thoughts on this/others seeing similarities?
-
Could this be a part of an A/B test to see the impact of Rich Snippets on the SERP ?
-
Yes, this is happening to us currently. Roughly 2 weeks ago I noticed that our rich snippets started appearing when doing a 'site:' query like you mentioned, but this was not the case 2 weeks prior.
Around the end of March our rich snippets for customer reviews abruptly disappeared from the SERPs after always displaying basically since Google adopted displaying rich snippets. All URLs pass the snippets testing tool, and we have not seen any return to natural search results.
-
Some of our sites are seeing this as well. I would venture to say that this is a fluke and not a leading indicator that the snippets are coming back.

Completely up to Google when they want to show them. Check here to make sure they are working.

The displaying of rich snippets - as with many Google "features" is completely discretionary on Google's part. I haven't come across this particular scenario before, but so long as the rich snippets are validated as being set up correctly I don't see that you have many options. If they used to display in main SERPs and now suddenly don't, take a look back through changes to your websites a few weeks prior to see if you've somehow affected them. The structured data report in Webmaster Tools should give you the historical data.

Generally, the main search engine is taking those out of the SERPS.
I have seen the same out in the wild.

Not showing up in Google Local Pack despite being #1 ranked for keyword
Hey everyone, This has been an on-going problem that we've been having for a select location of ours. We've been #1 ranked for the keyword "dog groomers near me", however we don't show up in the Google Local Pack (top 3 locations box). We have a high 4.9 rating with 20+ ratings, and the other locations that DO show up have a 2.4 and 3.6 rating with less reviews! I've exhausted every resource and have even geo-tagged our specific photos on our landing pages. I'm not sure what to do anymore as we're already #1 ranked on every similar keyword. Thank you, Anthony

Review stars dropped off in Google from Rich Snippets (started in October '17 - Jan '18 timeframe)
Our review stars from Rich Snippets are not showing up in Google for Novus products. I believe these are structured correctly or at least there are no errors. We have tried to troubleshoot on our own and asked multiple SEO'er's and partners, but have not had success. Turning to MOZ! They were there in September/October timeframe but dropped off in October to January timeframe. example URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=hif+1+alpha+antibody&oq=hif+1+alpha+antibod (It seems to be off all products); This started in October to January time frame so was before the latest algo update.

I just found original business name for client - its not the same as GMB or any aggregate site. What to do?
the business filing with the Secretary of State is a name of an individual (e.g. Matthew Smith, M.D.). This is on reflected on Localeze and such. However, the business is operating under a name "Healthy Body and Minds Clinic", which is the Facebook, Google My Business, and website name and info. So, how is it best to get consistency in NAP with the two different business names being used? (Ideally, no change in State registration or filing for a DBA). Thanks much! One idea I have seen is to include both and separate them by a colon. As in "Healthy Body and Minds Clinic : Matthew Smith, M.D." I appreciate any suggestions or tips to help. Thanks.

How to Properly Add Simple Review Schema to Your Website For a Review Pulled from a Third-Party Site
Hello, I'd like to pull the content of a review from a third-party site and put it on my client's website. My plan is to add review schema to this content but I want to make sure everything I'm doing is white hat before I implement. Can someone please tell me if the following example is okay to do? For example...
Reviews and Ratings | | Etna
I'd like to pull an entire review from Yelp and put it on my website. I would link out to the review on Yelp and then give credit to Yelp in the publisher section of the schema. If I give credit to the name of the reviewer and where the review is being pulled from (in this case Yelp) on both the actual website as well as in the schema, is this white hat and something I could implement? Also, is "simple review" markup the correct markup to use in this scenario?

Do ratings/reviews show up in Organic Search Results anymore?
I read about using schema or h1review to add markup that would get an individual person's review to show up in organic search, but it was from 2013. I did a few queries for keywords in my area, and none of the results had this. Then I did some queries for generic things like "best pizza in Tampa" and "coffee in tampa" and they didn't have it either. So, is this still something that can be done or not? I do see it when a review site like yelp comes up or in ads, but I'm specifically talking about organic search results from our website. Thanks, Ruben

Two web sites with the same contact info is this a problem ?
I have two web sites and a physical shop. I run the web sites from the the same post address as the shop. I am concerned that if I add the actual address to both web sites which also has the same telephone number that google might see this as suspicious activity. The reason is I bought a competitor out and now run two sites.

Migrating Reviews from Old SIte
We recently changed our Website to Word Press and I would like to move the old reviews to the new site. I am concerned Google might not understand the reviews showing up all of a sudden. The old reviews were on a sub-domain (store.domain.com). I will be able to match the dates and text as well as names. Any advice or Best Practice on this? Thanks!
