Relevancy vs Quality of the website in blog commenting
-
For example, I would like to comment on a do follow blog with my link inserted in the comment. The blog post is relevant with the link i inserted however there are too many spammy links on the comment. Will this affect my website in terms of "link neighborhood" even my site is relevant to the blog?
how do you judge whether the blog is worth commenting and putting your link on it?
Does link building on blog comments actually hurt the page rank of websites if it go wrong such as spammy sites?

I agree with Keri, but would add that from a purely technical perspective you'd be best to avoid getting links from pages where a lot of poor-quality links have been left already, either by the person who wrote the blog post or by other commenters. There's reason to believe that "bad neighbourhoods" are best avoided in order to not draw comparisons between your site and spam. Sometimes you'll be naturally linked to by a page or blog that also links to poor-quality content; this isn't a huge problem in an of itself, but there's no need to encourage it.

Would you want to comment there if the link was not included, or if it had a nofollow attribute? Did you find the post because it was a relevant post, or was it found with a search query that was looking specifically for posts to comment on?
Those are a couple of questions to ask yourself as to whether you'd want to leave a link. If there are a bunch of spammy links, I'd probably avoid it myself, but that's my personal opinion.

How can I track where visitors go after exiting my website?
I don't want to track external links. I just want to know where they go when they leave. Is that possible? Can I do this with a cookie?

How can I track relevant websites my visitors are viewing?
I'm wanting to build a in-depth profile for my company's typical site visitor and I was wondering if there is anyway to view other websites that visitors are searching for online to get an idea of their hobbies/interests and how they spend their free time. I'm not sure if I'm asking the right questions in Google because the results are very broad and are more about reading analytics for your own company. Can anyone point me to a website or software that allows for this sort of thing?

Subdomain vs Root Domain Metrics
My site has everything in the root - test.com. www.test.com is redirected to test.com and all content is in the root; there are no subdomains. So I'm completely confused as to how the mozrank and moztrust are different. They have the same number of links yet: Subdomain: MozRank - 3.72
Competitive Research | | Optimise
MozTrust - 3.23 Root Domain: MozRank - 3.05
MozTrust - 2.79 This seems consistent with all my competitors too so just wondered if someone could explain why the root domain is usually/often lower? Surely the root domain numbers should always be equal to or higher than the subdomain?0 -
Two links with the same quality but different effect
Hi, the website I'm working for is loosing rankings for one specific keyword and since there haven't been any bigger onsite changes I assume it's the back links. The company bought some exact anchor text links in the past, so I went through those. One specific one attracted my attention: It's a site wide link which creates over 80% of the back link profile to the specific website. There was only one catch: part of this bought anchor text campaign is another highly targeted anchor text which is not negatively affected by the rankings. Still I didn't like the feel of this so I ran the seomoz keyword difficulty report. And there I discovered an interesting pattern: For keyword A we are the only ones in the top10 with such a high percentage of exact keyword usage. But for keyword B, which didn't loose rankings our top10 competitor have an even more over-optimized keyword usage or much weaker back link profile. So now I wonder if it could actually be the case, that we loose rankings for keyword A since our competitors have a more natural profile, but for Keyword B it has no negative effect due to the worse competition. Thanks in advance for your help!

Local Real Estate Site vs Larger National Sites
Hello all, I am a local realtor that created my website with an idx feed. I am on page one but at the bottom. Question is how can a local real estate website rank better in the SERPS than the larger national brands? Any tips out there from those who have worked with real estate websites and seo? I'm trying to out rank the larger sites for my main keywords. Thanks all.

Page quantity vs no crawl errors.
Which one is better: Have a ton of pages but accept crawl errors or; Have a lot less pages with no crawl errors. Let's say I have a product catalogue with 10 regular pages and 500 product pages (same page with content and title defined by url parameter like 'id'). It seems that even with a different product name, product description, price, color etc, I get dupplicate content crawl errors. I also know I could use a link tag with cannonical rel attribute to fix the crawl errors but I would lose indexing on 499 pages. In this case is it better SEO wise to have: 510 pages with 499 dupplicate content crawl errors or; 11 pages with 0 crawl errors?
