How do I add meta descriptions to Archives in Wordpress?

My most recent crawl returned a number of 'missing meta description' errors, and when I checked individual URLs, it turned out they were Wordpress Archived pages - for individual months and days (e.g. http:// .../2011/01).
What's the best way to go about adding descriptions to these pages, if at all? Or should I have these pages not be indexed?
I am using the All in One SEO plugin, so maybe there is an easy fix through this plugin, or it may be the cause of these errors?
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!
**EDIT
After looking it up further, I have decided to use noindex for Archives, which should solve my problem right? Or is there a benefit to having those archived pages?

there should always be one way search bots can crawl your site to get to the content - even the deepest content. If you've got that in place, any other path can be noindexed, or index/followed.

Wordpress Pods and Wordpress SEO by Yoast
Hi I am optimising a new site that has been built in Wordpress using Pods. The Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin is not recognising any content on the site - has anyone any ideas on how to get around this - does it matter - is it the plugin that is at fault rahter than the set up of the site?

Missing meta descriptions from Google SERPs
Hullo all, I run an e-commerce website and hence have a lot of product category/sub-category pages to handle. Despite giving each of these category pages meta descriptions, in the Google SERPs, a lot of these descriptions don't show up fully. Rather, only half the text that I'd inputed as my meta desc. shows up; the other half has generic stuff from that page given. I've attached a screen shot to give you an example of what comes up in the SERPs. Could you please tell me what exactly is the problem? Is it a coding issue? Or has Google not crawled that page? How to rewrite WordPress permalinks for reverse proxy?
Our main site, www.domain.com, is on an IIS 6 server. When we started our blog, we wanted to put it in a subdirectory (domain.com/blog), but we couldn't because our IT people refused to support it. Instead, we built it on a third-party Apache server and configured it to open under blog.domain.com. However, I came across this SEOmoz post about the glories of reverse proxies, so I've persuaded our IT people to take a swing at it. We got it to work on a staging server, but the permalinks won't change (still appear as blog.domain.com/slug). The IT guys say it's due to a configuration problem with WordPress. Can somebody out there point me in the right direction as far as working out the URL issues with this?

Multiple title and description change is considered spam?
I'm changing title and description several times throught 1-2 months... will Google penalize me? I'm worried that testing several title and description ideas would affect the site rankings on google. Anyone had a problem with that... or can i continue testing as many titles and descriptions as i want?
