Any one with experience with a specialist magneto dedicated hosting in UK/Ireland? Just getting a few quotes and looking for recommendations ( and any I should avoid)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I wanted to go with a managed dedicated server that's optimised for Magneto ( So I can concentrate on the website and not worry about the server being uptodate for PCI etc)

I do not, but I work with another package and one thing I would suggest is if you are targeting Ireland and getting enough traffic for a dedicated server you might want to look into running on AWS. They have a datacenter in Ireland and I am running some pretty large e-commerce sites on them +4m visitors a week in size.

Offer of Channel Partner to host a microsite - should I be doing this.

Hi All. I work for a regional IT services business and we supply various IT solutions. One of our channel distributors is running a campaign with a large global vendor (you will know them) where they have built a solution microsite at https://vendorname-solution.com for themselves and then created a copy of this site for ten end partners, including my business. They have done this by what looks like copying the entire site and creating a copy of the site at a subdomain for each of the ten partners at http://partner1/2/3 etc.vendorname-solution.com. So if we go ahead and agree to this approach I am potentially worried about the following and whether I should built out our own version instead. 1 - there is no https being offered so we will get penalised by Google ?
2 - we can't add any tracking to the subsite as it isn't under our control
3 - will Google see all these subdomain copies as duplicate content and penalise me (and the others)
4 - I am worried that anyone removing the subdomain from the URL will then land on the distributors microsite and not ours and the only way of trying to prevent this is to embed in an iframe but that doesn't sound a good idea to me. I don't get the feeling that the channel partner knows much about SEO so could do with some help trying to assess whether I should be concerned and politely politely turn down their offer to run this microsite for us ? Google only indexed 19/94 images

I'm using Yoast SEO and have images (attachments) excluded from sitemaps, which is the recommended method (but could this be wrong?). Most of my images are in my posts; here's the sitemap for posts: https://edwardsturm.com/post-sitemap.xml I also appear on p1 for some good keywords, and my site is getting organic traffic, so I'm not sure why the images aren't being indexed. Google local / Rich snippets in multiple locations

Hi All, Something i'm trying to understand about Google local but cant find precise info about what we are thinking of doing. We are located in City A, but also provide our services in almost every city in our country. We broker the service to branches that don't have their own local websites and want to take advantage of being listed in each city by marking up the address of each branch on each of our specific branch pages. All our pages are currently marked up using the physical company address. Would their be any issues marking up separate branch pages to the corresponding branch address, and then taking advantage of Local results in many areas around the country? In other words, Is it possible for a single website to mark up separate pages for different locations and take advantage of local results for each? Thanks in Advance Greg

Risk of hosting website on internal application server

This isn't really related to SEO, but it came up with a client.... We have a client that is hosting their website internally. That's not a problem except that the server it is hosted on is the same server where they host many secure applications with sensitive customer information. We recommended to the marketing vp to move the website to a different server that doesn't host secure apps so we don't have be concerned about any conflicts. Their IT folks pushed back. Question/Concern about URL structure

Hey! I have some doubts concerning structuring a websites URL’s and what would be the best practise for this case. The site has 4 (main) categories with a maximum of 4 products in each category. For example: domain -> category (natural-stones) -> product (flooring) Which I would give the follow url: www.companysite.com//natural-stones/flooring Nothing odd so far, but here is the tricky part: the category isn’t an actual page a user wouldn’t be able to visit. The category is just an item in the mainmenu. If a user hovers over the category in the main menu they will get a dropdown in which they can select a product. E.g. flooring, wall strips etc. My question is: Is the url structure as I suggested: www.companysite.com//natural-stones/flooring the best practise. Even though the category isn’t an actually page. Or would it be better to structure the site: www.companysite.com/flooring My concern with this type of structure would be that the site would seem ‘flat’ with in-depth structure. Or would a third (and maybe best?) option be to create an actual page for the category itself. Thanks for taking the time to help me with my question/concern. There seem to be quite a few template, framework, and theme options for building a site optimized for search. I'm currently looking at Socrates and Genesis premium themes for Wordpress. Does anyone have experience or suggestions on these resources?

/$1 URL Showing Up

Whenever I crawl my site with any kind of bot or a sitemap generator over my site. it comes up with /$1 version of my URLs. For example: It gives me hdiconference.com & hdiconference.com/$1 and hdiconference.com/purchases & hdiconference.com/purchases/$1 Then I get warnings saying that it's duplicate content. Here's the problem: I can't find these /$1 URLs anywhere. Even when I type them in, I get a 404 error. I don't know what they are, where they came from, and I can't find them when I scour my code. So, I'm trying to figure out where the crawlers are picking this up. Where are these things? If sitemap generators and other site crawlers are seeing them, I have to assume that Googlebot is seeing them as well. Any help? My developers are at a loss as well.

Hosted in the Cloud, my URL is a .com how can I rank in UK SERPS?

Hi Mozzers, I have found an e-commerce SAS solution (USA based) that hosts its platform in the Cloud. Unfortunately my domain is a ,com but I wish to rank & sell within the UK. I realise I can select the UK parameters within GWT, but I am led to believe that this isnt hugely effective. Other than choosing another eCommerce platform, could anyone please assist me in identifying a solution? Thank you in advance.
