Can increase in crawl errors in GWT) be caused by input fields and jquery?
-
Dear Mozzerz
We took over www.urgiganten.dk not long ago and last week we opened up for indexation, after having taken the old website down for a couple of months. One week after opening for indexation we saw a huge increase in crawl errors.Google is discovering some weird links to e.g http://www.urgiganten.dk/30-garmin-urremme/ which returns a 404. In GWT we are told that we are linking to this url from http://www.urgiganten.dk/garmin-urremme. But nowhere on http://www.urgiganten.dk/garmin-urremme will you find this link. However you will find the following script in the source code, which is the only code part that contains "/30-garmin-urremme/":Can it be true that google take the id and adds it to our tld to form a url? We have seen quite a lot of these errors not only on Urgiganten.dk but also some of our other websites!

Dear Martihn
Is there any fix to this? it is hard not to have scripts and input fields that contain these sort of things!
-
Would be possible, I've also seen them mark custom pageviews that are hidden in the code an not an actual link make it a 404 in Google Webmaster Tools. As long as you don't have thousands in GWT I wouldn't care to much about it.

And you should not mind all the empty categories. We have just lunched the categories for now to keep track of the indexation process and catch errors, such as this, before they explode.

What Can I Do To Improve The SEO of My Site?
We have a website that is ranking okay but we can't seem to get past #6 or #7 for a specific national keyword, "self storage software". We are working on a more effective back-linking strategy right now, but we really are having a hard time identifying steps to take besides that. If anyone can help me out and give me some suggestions I would be very appreciative. Maybe even seeing a competitive analysis from someone else would help catch something that I am not seeing. Website is www.storageunitsoftware.com Thanks in advance.

Spike in server errors
Hi, we've recently changed shopping cart platforms. In doing so a lot of our URL's changed, but I 301'ed all of the significant landing pages (as determined by G Analytics) prior to the switch. However, WMT is warning me about this spike in server errors now with all the pages that no longer exist. However they are only crawling them because they used to exist/are linked from pages that used to exist. and no longer actually exist. Is this something I should worry about? Or let it run its course?

Crawling issues in google
Hi everyone, I think i have crawling issues with one of my sites. It has vanished form Google rankings it used to rank for all services i offered now it doesn't anymore ever since September 29th. I have resubmitted to Google 2 times and they came back with the same answer: " We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the web spam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. There's no need to file a reconsideration request for your site, because any ranking issues you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the webspam team. Of course, there may be other issues with your site that affect your site's ranking. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year, and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. As our algorithms change and as the web (including your site) changes, some fluctuation in ranking can happen as we make updates to present the best results to our users. If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system, or server architecture. For example, a site may not rank well if your server stops serving pages to Googlebot, or if you've changed the URLs for a large portion of your site's pages. This article has a list of other potential reasons your site may not be doing well in search. " How i detected that it may be a crawling issue is that 2 weeks ago i changed metas - metas are very slow in getting updated and for some of my pages never did update Do you know any good tools to check for bad code that could slow down the crawling. I really don't know where to look other than issues for crawling. I validated the website with w3c validator and ran xenu and cleaned these up but my website is still down. Any ideas are appreciated.
