Any idea why HubSpot (which uses the MOZ api) can find our backlinks but OSE can not?
-
Links are showing up in the HubSpot link tool within a couple of days. OSE has our site showing zero backlinks. ahrefs is finding them too but that makes more sense.
Does the API update more frequently than OSE? Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hi Erin,
Thanks so much for the response! Yeah, I am going to reach out to hubspot just out of curiosity.
I will check OSE again when the new index hits.
Have a great week!

Hi there. My name is Erin, and I'm on the Moz Help team. Thanks for reaching out with such a great question! You're totally correct about AHREFS. They pull there link data from different sources, so they're always going to show different information than OSE.
Hubspot does get at least some of their information for their Link Tool from our API, but I don't think we're their only source. I pinged a few team members to see if they had any ideas, but they closest thing we could find was this article. If they're showing a backlink that we aren't it's likely that they're using other sources. Sorry I can't shed more light on this! The truth is I'm not totally sure all the sources Hubspot uses. In regards to OSE I can tell you that we update our Mozscape Index about once a month. You can always check for our next update here. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, just email help@moz.com.
Cheers,
Erin

Yes, but my understanding is that HubSpot uses the MOZ api to crawl the web?
-
HubSpot and AHREFs likely have more resources dedicated to crawling the web for links. The more resources you have, the more of the web you crawl and the more links you find.

Moz got problem crawling SquareSpace websites?
Moz sent us an email about our website https://www.openhill.com that they failed to crawl. I checked the forums with the same issues with mine and it looks like that Moz has problems with websites from Squarespace. I wonder if you do have a workaround on this. Let me know if you have instructions for me to fix this kind of issue. Thanks!

API Access Change
I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that there was a certain number of API calls that USED to be included with my MOZ Pro level subscription and as I check it now, the API access is a separate subscription. Was there a recent change or has my memory finally started going?

Suggestion - Should OSE include "citation links" within its index?
This is really a suggestion (and debate to see if people agree with me), with regard to including "citation links" within Moz tools, by default, as just another type of link NOTE: when I am talking about "citation links" I am talking about a link that is not wrapped in a link tag and is therefore non clickable, eg moz.com Obviously Moz have released the mentions tool, which is great, and also FWE which is also great. However, it would seem to me that they are missing a trick in that "citation links" don't feature in the main link index at all. We know that Google as a minimum uses them as an indicator to crawl a page ( http://ignitevisibility.com/google-confirms-url-citations-can-help-pages-get-indexed/ ), and also that they don't pass page rank - HOWEVER, you would assume that google does use then as part of their alogrithm in some manner as they do nofollow links. It would seem to me that a "Citation Link" could (possibly) be deemed more important than a no follow link in Googles alogrithm, as a "no follow" link is a clear indication by the site owner that they don't fully trust the link, but a citation link would neither indicate trust or non trust. So - my request is to get "citation links" into the main link index (and the Just Discovered index for that matter). Would others agree??

Right now I am doing the above manually and was trying to hunt for a way for the table to update on a set date. any help / guidance appreciated
