Can I just replay a backup within wordpress to regain my google ranking from yesterday?

Hi,
yesterday I had a wonderful ranking for the website I do SEO for.
The site is pretty still new (online since about one week). Around 11 am yesterday we ranked pretty good and challenged some local sites within the insurance business. Then I made a mistake and stuffed a part of a mail (full of keywords and comments) that was sent to me into an alt-tag of an image. Unfortunatelly it took me around 2 or 3 hours to notice.
Before fixing the issue I made some other SEO changes and the site dropped on different keywords on google. Now it practically disappeared from the results…
Does it make sense to just play back a backup from around 11 am yesterday or will google penalize so much going back and forth… (Meanwhile title-tag has been changed, an some alt-attributes, one of three H1s on the page to make it fit more to the title)

Ok - I was courageous and undid the changes from the last two days to a version where the ranking was pretty good.Within 1,5 hours the site ranked as good as before

sorry I did not get exactly what you mean by
"did you check if the cached time of the content that you have changed, " - can you please express it differently and tell me where I can check that?

well - in fact it is a relaunch of a site that was already online for about a year.
In the Crawling Statistics in Google Webmastertools I can see that the site was crawled on a daily basis since one week.Cheers Marc

I can only agree with Andy that it's highly unlikely that Google picked up your new content so fast, did you check if the cached time of the content that you have changed, has changed as well so that you know for sure it's based on on-site stuff that caused this?

Hi Marc,
If the site has only been live for about a week, I doubt very much anything you have done to the site has caused this. It is not uncommon for Google to rank a new site highly for a few days, then you drop into a bottomless pit again. This is only while Google is assessing the site. I would doubt that you could do anything to fix that in such a short space of time.

Strange google indexing behaviour
Hi all Looking for a second opinion on a strange issue with has occurred on my site. The site is a magento store and because I am using all the default merchant descriptions at the moment I have noindexed the product pages (there are 300k products, the plan is to rewrite the content as we go, starting with most popular sellers). The Gbot is blocked from the pages and all the products have header tag. We forgot to noindex the popular search terms page on the site and as a result google has indexed some search result pages - we may keep this open, not sure yet, We are seeing a very strange thing in the serps. Google has indexed the search result pages, as mentioned above, however, the description and title tag being used do not belong to that page, they belong to the product page the search result links to. If i do a search in google for the indexed pages i get the categories and lots of, what appears to be, product pages. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:arropa.co.uk/store&espv=2&biw=1536&bih=772&ei=LE5xVd3qA4HlUNnggKgH&start=250&sa=N One would assume that a page listed with the title of Ladies 1 Pair Young Trasparenze Mumbai Animal Print . and the description of Come on, program a little of your crazy side! Part of the edgy, sassy Young Trasparenze Medley, these soft touch, nontransparent stockings function a crazy, (along with the price) would be an entry for that individual product. However, clicking on that product opens up a search results page (very slowly as the site is processing an update still - it is not for public use thus far) which can be seen here http://arropa.co.uk/store/catalogsearch/result/?q=+ladies+1+pair+young+trasparenze+mumbai+animal+print+tights+75+off+military+l+ yes, the search result page is for that particular item but nowhere on the page is the title, description and price, nor has it ever been. Am a little puzzled about this and what it would do re duplicate content as im using the manufacturer data at present. Ideally i would like to keep the search results pages open. Any thoughts would be most welcome. Couple of things to note. Im aware the site is too slow for general public use. It will be fully cached once running, as i say, it has 300k+ products so isn't small. Also, am aware that there are no images. They exist but we are moving the images around, hence being down. Can't figure why ranking dropped after SEO improved.
I took a website that never had any keyword research performed, meta data filled in or anything strategic regarding getting ranked on the search engines. We rebuilt the website from an old Dreamweaver install using Wordpress, did keyword research, optimized one page per keyword term, filled in all the appropriate meta data and alt tags. The site has dropped in rankings and I've been working for the past 3 months to attempt to raise it up. Can you see what I am doing wrong? Main page deindexed by google.
3 days ago our main page('/') has stopped appear in google results. Rest of pages works fine. Even our main page from canadian version of site with similar content works fine. Some times canadian page appears for key word where we had our com version before. But I think this is just result of disappearing com version. Any suggestion were to look? Messages box in google webmastertools is empty. Could this be the question too long page title? PS: Does any way exist to check if we were punished by Google and reason of this? For Bing and Yahoo everything works fine. PPS: We have just found that "cache:our_site.com" and "info:our_site.com" returns in google our_site.ca. So this should be reason of problem. So now we are looking how to fix this.

How can I stop google reading a certain section of text with my H1 tag?
Hey Mozzers, I'm wondering if anybody knows of a way that I can stop google reading a certain part of text within my H1 texts? My issue is that I have individual office pages on my site, but many offices are based in the same city; such as 'London'. I want to keep London within the H1 tag for user experience but I do not want it to be picked up by the search engines and start a canonical issue. I've seen some people say to use document.write or use an image. Does anybody know of a correct way of doing this? Many Thanks.

Google Page Rank of my site has dropped from 4/10 to 3/10
Google Page rank of my website has been dropped after Panda Update. Can anyone help me out to tell me the possible reasons about the same. We have tried to make our website more lively and user friendly. We have indulged some graphics to make it more attractive. But it seems it backfired us. my site is http://www.myrealdata.com as well as Google page ranking of my Quickbooks hosting page has been dropped as well. It would be great if someone can help me out with expert suggestions.
