Multiview - Are they worth or can I do it myself?
-
Hi,
I'm new to the Moz Community here although I have visited this site quite a few times. Recently my company has been contacted by MultiView for a B2B marketing strategy to get our business in front of targeted and potential customers - based on behavior of website visitors - basically behavior based marketing and inbound lead summary. Are you all familiar with what Multiview does? If not, I can explain some more. But, I have a couple questions:
-
Are they actually what they claim to be? Are they a trustworthy company?
-
Is there a way I can do everything they are telling me with the getting particular ads in front of people based on behaviors (similar to AdWords, but this seems more in depth) and detailed info for the visitors to my site (actually see who they are)? I realize this may take more work on my part than having them do it. But, is there a way I can collect this info myself and do all this work myself?
Behavior based campaigns and this sort of thing are new to me, as I haven't worked with this before for my company. So, any and all info is appreciated!
Thanks!

Thank you for the answers! Answered my questions very well and I'll be moving on from Multiview. It sounded a little odd to me to track it down to the exact company who is visiting a site, but I just wanted to cover my bases and make sure I wasn't missing something.

That's highly unlikely. Sure you can capture an ip and see who it belongs to but that's a real stretch. If someone is at their desk behind the corporate firewall and you get the ip belonging to a company you have no way of knowing who in that company was on your site.
Why is that valuable anyway? If they are interested they will contact you. Your efforts would be better spent closing them while they are on your site with good copy. Move on from these guys with their promises or I fear you will regret it.
Best.

So there are probably two ways, they can get this information:
-
The legal way: grabbing IPs from log files and then cross-referencing them with geolocation and then providing some contact information for that company. This is hit or miss depending on if they're coming from a business or if the business's IP info actually matches where they are.
-
The illegal way: hacking into someone's browser cookies, who's visiting your site, and figuring out direct information from that.

Thank you all for the responses! They are very helpful. We won't be using Multiview :).
One thing they mentioned they could do, is get the exact contact info for businesses who are visiting our site. Is this something that can actually be done? I know a little about remarketing, but I didn't exactly see how I could view the specific contact details of site visitors.
Thanks!

I sent that exact ripoff report url to a long-time client earlier today when they asked me about Multiview. I recommended that they not be a publisher for them.

Nice find EGOL.
I have a general rule if they are cold calling me, I won't do business with them. There are tons of these scams out there using spyfu to generate leads among other methods. On the other hand Moz has a list of recommended service providers yo can check out:

As for Multiview Run Away!

It is very easy to get information about Multiview....

I discovered that many other people share my opinion.

Hi! It would be great if you could explain more about what MultiView does. While it might be hit or miss on if people have heard of their services and/or have used them, our community can probably answer more about if you can replicate (easily) what they do on your own.

Community Discussion - How can we apply the skills we have as marketers in new, creative ways?
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful week! This week's discussion question comes from Tuesday's (December 😎 blog post by John-Henry Scherck, The Step-by-Step Guide to Turning Link Prospectors into Lead Generators. From the post: "Digital marketing is a pretty introverted industry. This tends to make us a bit hesitant to embrace sales and outbound selling. There’s no beating around the bush: Sales can be difficult, scary, uncomfortable, and awkward — but if you want to grow your client base, it may require getting out of your comfort zone." John-Henry shows us the opportunity for people who are good at link prospecting to apply those skills to lead generation, improving business opportunities by creatively using the skills they already have. SEOs and marketers wear many hats, and have a diverse skill set at their disposal—how else can we apply the skills we already have in creative ways?

KEYWORDS: How can I find keywords to target now that the majority of searches have been hidden from keyword planner?
Hello Community, I am not an expert and I need some advice. So thank you for your time 🙂 I read that Google is not showing the same amount of search volume data it was showing before (like up until 2-3 weeks ago, after the NSA scandal) and that now it's changed the way we should look at which keyword groups to target since we dont know anymore how many people actually searched for these terms. Say I want to start a new site around the topic "french chocolate" (just joking, but say I want to). How do I find out today which is the most searched term in that keyword group/cluster? I mean this in terms of volume of searches. Please help, I need some guidance on how to approach my content developmente strategy from now on, I always heavily relied on keywords and that got me awesome results in less than a year! Thank you again for your time Best

Are qr codes still worth the effort.
I Have a client who is interested in qr codes. Not by my suggestion. I haven't heard much about them lately and was wonder if anyone thinks its worth the time. If you think they are, then where is "the" place to get them at a reasonable cost?

Can any one recommend some good up to date resources?
HI everyone,
Industry News | | AMA-DataSet
I'm quite new to SEOmoz and to the SEO industry.
I like to think that I have a basic knowledge of SEO now after a few weeks of reading article, books, watching videos etc. but I'm struggling with the practical application. Not to long ago to found out that "keyword" weren't reference to meta keywords as some of these articles had said, this turned my understanding upside down for some time until I did more research on keywords. Iv also found that some parts of the SEOmoz "beginner's guide" are outdated, which Iv read from cover to cover. But this got me a little concerned, how do I know any of the information iv spent my time learning is correct and not outdated? So I was hoping does anyone know of any recent up to date resources/guides/case studies/ practical application case studies I can have a look at? Thank you in advance0 -
Does Google still have a standard search result? How can I get it?
I have heard a lot from the experts that there are no "Standard" Google search results anymore. They said that most of the SERP's of Google that show up are customized/tailored for each individuals even if they are not logged-in using their Google Custom Search. My questions are, Is there still a way to retrieve the standard Google search result? How? Are these scripts will be helpful when searching on Google? *webhp?

What are some good organizations an SEO company can join that are strong trust signals?
We are working on a website redesign, and want to prominently include some trust signals that help people feel comfortable with us. We're including logos of a few places we've guest posted, and also the BBB and local chamber of commerce. Do you have any other ideas on logos we can include that are good trust signals? Any associations or organizations we could join? We are a trustworthy company, we just want a way to communicate that visually, and it seems organization seals and logos are the way to go. Thanks!
