How do I go about fixing my High Priority issues that SEO moz says I have on a PHP site?
-
I am been trying to deal with this problem for some time now. I have talked to several IT people and SEO moz. None seem to know how to fix these issues on the type of site our company is.
Our biggest issue with is Duplicate Page Content. We also have some title issues. Our site is built with PHP coding and variable, meaning the site is not a typical static website. We have a handful of pages that are dynamic depending on what the users chooses to see and do.
So, my problem is I can't just go to a specific page and put the canonical or the redirect. It isn't multiple pages for our category pages, for example, it is just one that builds the page depending on the search.
Please help!

Hi Josh!
Thanks for reaching out! My name is Erin, and I'm on the Help Team here at Moz. It looks like you've been working with David and Michael on this, and I'm really glad to see that you've brought this question to our awesome community! While we're able to tell you how our site detects duplicate content, advising you on how to implement strategy on your site is a little out of our realm of expertise. I'd have to be a web dev or a consultant to point you in the right direction, and the truth is I was a history major.
Sorry we don't have more resources for you on this one! It's my hope that someone here in the community has some insights for you. I'll leave this question as "unanswered" in hopes that someone has some advice.
Good luck, and have a wonderful weekend!
Erin

How do can the crawler not access my robots.txt file but have 0 crawler issues?
So I'm getting this errorOur crawler was not able to access the robots.txt file on your site. This often occurs because of a server error from the robots.txt. Although this may have been caused by a temporary outage, we recommend making sure your robots.txt file is accessible and that your network and server are working correctly. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster.https://www.evernote.com/l/ADOmJ5AG3A1OPZZ2wr_ETiU2dDrejywnZ8kHowever, Moz is saying I have 0 Crawler issues. Have I hit an edge case? What can I do to rectify this situation? I'm looking at my robots.txt file here: http://www.dateideas.net/robots.txt however, I don't see anything that woudl specifically get in the way.I'm trying to build a helpful resource from this domain, and getting zero organic traffic, and I have a sinking suspicion this might be the main culprit.I appreciate your help! Thanks! 🙂

Moz is reporting weird email address URLs as 'Meta refresh' errors? Anything to worry about?
Under site crawl, Moz is reporting weird email address URLs as 'Meta refresh' errors. The URLs are: http://support@ihasco.co.uk and http://enquiries@ihasco.co.uk Once clicked, they redirect to our homepage. Anyone else ever had this? Is it anything to worry about? I don't think it is, but would be good to get some reassurance.

Why there is a big gap between MOZ and Google Analytics Keyword Ranking for my website?
Hello everyone, I've just started a SEO project and I'm very new in the field. Well, I tried to select the most interesting Keywords for my website. When I checked out what the current ranking for each one was, I noticed that between Google and MOZ, figures are totally different. For example, for the word "channel manager": on Google Analytics: #2 on MOZ: not in the top 50 I know that for Google Analytics, these numbers are average (12 months). But it cannot explain such a huge gap. Do you have an explanation for that? And also does that mean that I can't trust Google (really?). Because I also did some analysis with Google figures: Monthly searches, Competition... Thanks for you help! Happy Christmas, Floriane.

Unusual "internal links" causing SEO issues?
Hi all, I'm working on an ecommerce site which has been around for almost 20 years. Over the years it has started to suffer in Google's search results and the decision was recently made to completely overhaul the site. We're now very happy with the website's design, and care was taken to maintain page rank via 301s, etc. However, the site has just fallen off the bottom of Google's first search result page (for the first time in years) for our main keyword. I signed up here in the hope of using Moz's SEO tools to help us return to our former glory, but I'm seeing some confusing results: I've run a crawl test on our site, as well as on our two biggest competitors. One thing that really stood out was that we have over 1000 "internal links" to our homepage, whereas our competitors both have around 20-30 (both of which appear at the top of the first SR page). Since the rest of the "on-page SEO" looks OK, I suspect that this could be causing our problems, but I don't understand where this "internal links" number is coming from. Links to our competitor's homepage appear in the navigation bar on every single one of their product pages (which they have about 500 of), yet your report only claims that they have 30 links. The only link to the homepage appears in the site's main navigation bar (which obviously appears on every product page - exactly as it does on our competitors' sites). Additionally, almost every other page on our site apparently has 0 "internal links" and 0 page authority. Is this a problem with Moz's crawl test tool, or is our site actually at fault? The above has been asked directly to Moz staff, but I haven't had a reply. I'd hugely appreciate any words of wisdom from the community. Many thanks in advance. Nick

Keyword research in Moz - Am I missing something?…
I'm fairly new at SEO and am still trying out MOZ. I'm finding myself wishing that Moz had a broader set of tools for keyword research, but am wondering if maybe I'm just missing something. Am I correct in saying that there is no place within Moz that you can get keyword ideas, select/organize keywords, find new/related keywords? I've appreciated the keyword difficulty tool and have played around with Moz Analytics keyword tracking, but these don't help with the broader keyword research aspect. The various tutorials talk about using Google AdWords Keyword Planner and other tools to do that job. But with all that Moz can do, it just seems backwards to do lots of copying-pasting from other tools into Moz, or to have to rely on old excel spreadsheets to organize keywords. It seems that life would be much easier if Moz would be able to pull that kind of external research information in, like Raven does. That way you do most of your research within Moz – allowing you to organize/evaluate potential keywords BEFORE choosing the ones you would like to test for difficulty or track. That way you could simply select the desired keywords and add them to your tracked list. The way it is now, even the one research tool that Moz does have (keyword difficulty) does not allow for an easy way to track or manage a chosen set of keywords. For example, after doing some keyword difficulty analysis, I've chose 5 keywords. To add these 5 to the tracked keywords in a specific campaign I can't just select them and say "track keywords > in xxx campaign". From what I've understood, I must copy-and-paste them into the manage keyword section of the desired campaign. To me this all feels a bit awkward. But since I'm new at this, maybe I'm just missing something? Or maybe it's unrealistic to expect a single tool to address all my SEO needs?

Open Site Explorer Problems
I've been checking open site explorer for months now. It doesn't show any changes in the number of root domain links to any of my pages, even though webmaster tools shows a substantial increase in root domain links for each of these urls. Open Site Explorer doesn't seem to be updating. According to Moz, my site is regularly indexed by Moz. But the numbers don't change. I've tested this on a few other sites as well with the same results. How do I get OSE to update the numbers for a particular website?
