Difference between Google Plus Page and Google Business Page
-
Hi,
Just wondering the differences between a Google Plus Page, and a Google Business page please? Should I have both? Also, will reviews for the business automatically show on both pages.. as Im starting to guess this is not the case?
Thank you for the time to respond.

Great to hear!

Thanks Cole.
Just spoke to Google Support, .. think in my complete confusing and ignorance I actually know more about it than what they did!
Anyhow, it seems I really had two pages doing the same thing.. just created via different Google Services that kinda work together.
So now just the one page to focus on. Phew!
Cheers for the replies.

Yes and Yes. Lol. I agree it can be quite confusing.
Glad I could help!

cole, awesome thank you.
I actually dont think Google could make it any more confusing... so is Google Places also now called Google Business? http://www.google.com/business/ and sometimes Google Local?
-
They don't do the same thing. Google Places is for maps listings (often referred to as local listings). Google Plus is a social platform.
If you have reviews on your old Google Plus page, I would see about possibly moving them over. Why? So they show up under your Places account to be rated (get 5 reviews and you become rated). Getting rated gets you the stars which means you're awesome, right?
I would reach out to Google via "Contact Us." It may take several days for Google to get back with you. I'm not 100% sure if reviews are transferrable. If not, then ask what Google recommends.
I hope this helps.

Hi Cole,
Thanks for the info. Im still unclear why there are the two types of pages? Do they not kinda do the same thing?
I already had a Google Plus page for my business, and then yesterday created the Google Business page (so the other way around from what you mentioned). Will my reviews come over from the PLUS page to the BUSINESS page automatically? Where should I ask users to post new reviews to?
Thanks, all a bit confusing at the mo...

Don't forget about publisher and author. hint hint

You'll create a Google Places (Business) page. It will automatically creates a Google Plus page.
Update both fully with information. Now reviews will by synced to both (send them to Google Plus to leave reviews).
For duplicates, manage other Google Plus pages -> settings -> delete page. Keep the Google Plus page that is linked to Google Places.
I hope this helps!

Does having a Google My Business website help my local seo?
Everybody says it's important to put as much information as you can into your Google My Business listing. I'm wondering if it helps to take Google up on it's offer to give you a free website in addition to the website I already have of my own.

Delete Google Business Listing
Hi there, I'm trying to delete a Google business address but need to know that this will not effect the other apps linked to my google business profile (analytics for example). Do these work independently? I dont really want to delete the profile but the company I work for feel the review section will be detrimental. Thanks!

How can I improve my rank on Google Local?
I am bringing this topic up again. Last year, I suddenly stopped ranking for Google Local search results. I tried backing away and hoping it would correct itself, but it has not. When I do a search for myself, I rarely show up in the results anymore, and this image shows AFTER I've zoomed WAY in just to find myself. I think it has something to do with many fishing charters having the same address. I read the Moz article about which signals are most important, but to be quite honest, I don't think any of these competitors really bother with SEO or even have filled out their Google My Business in its entirety. They all have way less reviews than I do as well. I really try to do everything right, but it doesn't seem to help. Is there something small ad obvious that I am missing. Any ideas on what to do?

Business name change - Impact on reviews?
Hi I have a client who has created multiple GMB listings for his business using the same address, post code and phone number and I am trying to sort it all out. 2 of the listings have 1 review and 1 of them has 13 reviews. Obviously i want to keep the listing that has 13 reviews and delete the other 2. Keeping the listing with 13 reviews means I will have to update the business name in Google my business because it was originally entered wrongly. Will the profile need to be verified again? Will my client be able to keep those reviews or will they be deleted? Thanks

Rich snippet not enabled, on aggregated review pages
We have a website where you can book on restaurants, and afterwards you can review the restaurant you visited. So we have this page: https://www.r2n.dk/restauranter/restaurant-bonjour-vietnam (We have one for each restaurant). English version https://www.r2n.dk/en/restauranter/restaurant-bonjour-vietnam The page is marked up in microData, and when I test the site in google structured data it shows no errors https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.r2n.dk%2Frestauranter%2Frestaurant-bonjour-vietnam . But the page does not show up on google with a rich snippet (The review stars). I am thinking it might be one of the following things. Either it is because there is multiple "Restaurants" on the page, where the others appear in recommended restaurants, where we also marked them up as much as possible. Or else it could be because the reviews are hidden behind the "Anmeldelser"(Reviews) button, where they are retrieved via a ajax request, but if this was the case I don't get why this other site where the reviews does not appear is working fine: https://www.just-eat.dk/restaurants-bonjourvietnam Also it is a week since we finaly correctly implemented the structured data on the page, so I don't know if I should wait a longer time(Though the page has been cached by google multiple times since we updated the code)

Fixing Google Review (it's technical, not about an unhappy client)
We have six 5 star reviews for our Tampa office...but for some reason, our rating is a 4.8. Why is that? And, more importantly, how do I get it fixed? https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=kemp+ruge+green+tampa+twiggs&lrd=0x88c2c48aec26ee65:0xaa2e3a3569ca3602,1 Thanks, Ruben

Google plus review - how to ask
I found a way (finally!) to find out which of my customers who have a gmail account have also a Google plus account. That helps a lot. We use to send handout reviews or video instructions about how to create a Google plus account...and it didn't go to well. Now that we know they have a G+ account , all we have to do is ask for a review; how to do this?

What are the latest strategies so that the review will stay there? have them log in, search for the business name and write the review? give them the direct link? is the searcher's path important? should we look for users who are engaged more in their circles? Thanks!0
