Top content keyword in WMT is crap
-
I've heard that a blog's has a deep relation with content keywords available in WMT, my WMT is showing top content keyword "PNG" and it's because of images available in my posts. also the images sizes like 150x150 is also in my content keyword.
Should I noindex my images? or is there any other solution to handle this issue?
-
That looks to be a good solution. Behind the scenes the plugin will be adding "
Options -Indexes
" to your .htaccess file, which you could do directly and skip the need for a plugin if you so wish.I am glad I was able to help you.

Ok done this via this wordpress plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-safely-disable-directory-browsing/
Thanks Alex and others.

Thanks Alex, you've understood my problem, what if I just noindex that directory in my robots.txt file? is it gonna work or not?

Hi there! Would you mind describing your problem in more detail, and what you are hoping to achieve by solving it so we can help? Thanks!

Your uploads directory is viewable. I would configure the hosting to disallow browsing directories.
Because WordPress creates a directory for each month you have two dozen pages being indexed by Google that show nothing but filenames ending with the .png extension. This is most likely where the keyword in Webmaster tools is coming from.

Hard to say. What is the business problem you're trying to solve?

Keywords are indexed on the home page
Hello everyone, For one of our websites, we have optimized for many keywords. However, it seems that every keyword is indexed on the home page, and thus not ranked properly. This occurs only on one of our many websites. I am wondering if anyone knows the cause of this issue, and how to solve it. Thank you.

Words order in keywords phrase
Hello, I read that Google can "read" in all directions a while ago. Does this mean that keyword quires "Santa Monica appliance repair" and "appliance repair Santa Monica" are the same? Would you track both of them, or tracking only one would be enough? Thank you!

Mobile site content and main site content
Help, pls! I have one main site and a mobile version of that site (m.domain.com). The main site has more pages, more content, different named urls. The main site has consistently done well in Google. The mobile site has not: the mobile site is buried. I am working on adding more content to the mobile site, but am concerned about duplicate content. Could someone pls tell me the best way to deal with these two versions of our site? I can't use rel=canonical because the urls do not correspond to the same names on the main site, or can I? Does this mean I need to change the url names, offer different content (abridged), etc? I really am at a loss as to how to interpret Google's rules for this. Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Any help or tips would GREATLY appreciated!!!!! Thanks!

Duplicate Content?
My site has been archiving our newsletters since 2001. It's been helpful because our site visitors can search a database for ideas from those newsletters. (There are hundreds of pages with similar titles: archive1-Jan2000, archive2-feb2000, archive3-mar2000, etc.) But, I see they are being marked as "similar content." Even though the actual page content is not the same. Could this adversely affect SEO? And if so, how can I correct it? Would a separate folder of archived pages with a "nofollow robot" solve this issue? And would my site visitors still be able to search within the site with a nofollow robot?

Term for how content or data is structured
There is a term for how data or content is structured and for the life of me I can't figure it out. The following is the best I know of how to explain it: magnolia is of Seattle. Seattle is of Washington. Washington is of the US. US is of North America. North America is of Earth. etc etc etc etc. Any help is much appreciated. I'm trying to use the term to communicate It's application to SEO in that Google analyze how information is structured to understand the breadth and depth of your sites content...

Ecommerce SEO with 130 keywords
Hello everyone, My name is Davys and I'm what you call a newbie...so the question may sound stupid....But where we go. In this campaign I will be targeting around 130 to 150 keywords to my store. So here is the technical question. What is the right way of indexing 150 keywords? Should I attempt to have all 150 going to www.mysite.com or should I break it down into smaller pages if I can put it that way. Like www.mysite.com/pages/bikiniwax for example. Even if I break it down, what is the right amount of keywords that I should SEO per page? Or do 150 pages? Please helppppppppppppppppppppp.... 🙂 Thanks a lot for your help.
