Which of the following actions caused a drop in keyword ranking?

Hello,
About 2 months ago we build a specific page arround the keyword 'kerstkaarten' (christmas cards in Dutch). It moved up to the first page (7th position), but last week we fell back to a +50 position.
The changes we made during the last week where minimal, and I really don't have an idea what may have caused the sudden drop in ranking. Maybe you can help?Link: http://www.smartphoto.be/nl/belangrijke-momenten/kerst/kerstkaarten
Changes made:
-> I changed the keyword kerstkaarten on tim on the page to 'kerstkaartjes', because the Moz page grader said the keyword density was a bit too high.
-> We changed the top image on the page with a different promo. Title of the image changed from 'kerstkaarten-promo' to 'kerstkaarten-wenskaarten'
-> The date on a small legal text on the page changed
-> We got 2 backlinks from bloggers who've written an article about our christmas cards.
So no major changes in my opinion. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

All we can do here is guess, but my guess is that you had a temporary "honeymoon boost" when you first launched the site. Google will often rank a new page highly, see how users interact with it and then drop it down in the rankings after a few weeks.
I would imagine that that's a pretty competitive term, so to rank #7 for it would take a lot of authority!

Why would backlinks trump content and keywords / DA?
While analyzing competition, I frequently see backlinks being the biggest factor at deciding rank for keywords, while content and keyword page grading can say great things, it always comes down to backlinks it seems. Even our DA is better or equal, Why would this be?

Links to deep pages good for Homepage ranking?
Hello Moz community. My question today is: if I got great backlinks with anchor text "abc" coming to a deep resource page in my site, will these links help my homepage rank for keyword "xyz"? In other words, are all links (regarless of anchor text) coming to a site helpful for the homepage to rank for its main keyword? Thanks.

Does having our products on Amazon or EBay help with our SEO ranking?
We have an ecommerce web site, which ranks ok , but we are trying to build up our SEO scores. We're looking at links and were wondering if having our products listed on either Amazon or Ebay (or both) will actually help with ranking of our site? We sometimes have products listed on ebay with a reference to the higher price that the item is selling for on our main site. Thank you.

Multiple guest posts from one site have any effect on rankings?
I have started guest blogging and have sites asking me for more content. I understand that regular guest blogging is great for building authority as an author and has the potential to get more links through word of mouth and other sites linking to me. The more posts I do the more exposure I get. But if I have say 3 or 4 posts on an external site with each linking to my site (to a different url and with different anchor text) does that have any effect on rankings as all links come from the same domain? As I understand it links from different root domains are what matters. Presumably a site with links from 5 different sites with 10 links on each external domain totalling 50 links wouldn't rank as well as a site with links from 50 different domains (1 per domain)?

Bought links from sites with target keyword in their URL
One of my rivals in a competitive field (real estate) has done this deliberately and extensively -- it accounts for about 2/3 of his inbound links. Result: he's now #1. How strong a ranking factor is keywords in source URL - ie, how easy is it to beat with other ranking factors?

Google has a problem with this keyword
I've been trying to get one of my clients to rank in the first page for a word which I think has no serious competition at all. Every tool I tried so far including SEOMoz's on-page diagnostics tool seem to have no positive SEO results whatsoever. According to most tools out there our page is optimized for SEO more than every website who is ranked for this keyword. The competition also has less backlinks and social awareness. We even advertise on Google for this word. But Google says no...keeps dropping us in results. We have many FB and twitter followers to. But Google is committed to rank bad sites. Funny thing is that recently our site has received a PR6. No matter what we do Google is convinced to list pretty ugly looking sites for this specific keyword and I have ran out of options. This is really driving me crazy. The keyword we try to rank is "doktor" and we want to rank in google.com.tr. If you look the search results you will see a lot of youtube videos and some sites that don't even provide meaningful content. Please help.

Branded vs non branded keyword question
I have been doing a lot of research about my competitors on open site explorer and have come to see that most of them are getting a high percentage of links from branded anchor text. It is almost to the point where they are not even using any keyword terms as anchor text. I have a few questions: 1. why are they doing this 2.. how are they ranking for keyword terms when I cannot find any anchor text in their link profile that reflects their target keywords. 3. is it better for me to focus on building branded anchor text keywords than to do exact match keyword terms especially after the panda update 4. if it is better for me to focus on branded anchor text only, how do i rank for keyword terms?

Paid Directories and On-page Keyword SEO
I have a new website and I am getting ready to submit to a few paid directories to get my links started. I wanted to optimize my domain name/keywords for those directories and also for my on page SEO. My domain contains my keywords. For example "www.horsebuggy.net Questions: #1 Should I target the horsebuggy.net in my on-page SEO or just target horse buggy? #2 When I submit to a paid directory which should I choose for my company name. (I currently have a DBA for each term....for ex.. horse buggy and horsebuggy.net . Thank you, Boo
