Decide which keyword to check
-
Hi. I made 3 different keywordlists. based on the following rules:
list 1: top 50 of best ranking keywords of this campaign
list 2: Top 50 keywords with highest volume in adwords and related to the website
list 3: Top 50 last month used keywords by our clients from GWT
Now i want to make one top 50 list keywords i want to track and optimize the landingpages for it. What is the best way to choose from these three lists. There are a lot of overlaps (especialy in list 1 and 3.) so those keywords have preference. But how about keywords with high volume and high difficulty, related to the website, and low ranking?
i leave the conversion out of it for now, first goal is to get much traffic as possible.

Thanx Monica this will help a lot!
The ovelaps are going in and today w'ere looking at the high volume, low ranking keywords, and what's the best way to optimize the landingpages and get traffic!

I have a couple of thoughts on this:
First, I would definitely track any overlapping keywords. That means they are performing well in two categories, making them valuable.
Second, I would track the key terms with the highest search volume and competition. If you are already ranking well on terms that aren't bringing traffic or revenue, then they aren't converting terms for your client. I would look at the terms bringing traffic to your site and determine if they are ranking well. If not, then those are the words that need the targeting. I would double check the lists for redundant terms like "pink dog collar" and "pink dog collars".
"But how about keywords with high volume and high difficulty, related to the website, and low ranking?" These are the key terms that I would focus my attention on.

Include Location in Keywords?
I understand Google's local search automatically searches keywords with the location you are searching from. For example if I'm searching from Calgary and query "best shoe repair", Google knows I'm searching from Calgary and presents Calgary based results. I'm using Google's new Keyword Planner tool which allows for city based search results, meaning I don't have to include "Calgary" in the keywords I submit. The question I have is should I be attaching "Calgary" to my keywords for on-page optimization, and why or why not? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What does it mean when two keywords in Google's Keyword Research Tool have exactly the same amount of searches?
The two keywords are [publicity] and [product placement] (both in exact search - not broad) and have 22,200 searches each. Is it purely coincidental or are the two keywords kind of related in Google's eyes and that's why we're seeing the same amount of searches for each?

Am I Doomed with Low Volume Keywords?
I've been pursuing an internet startup for over a year now. We've figured a lot of things out along the way and even managed to start making some modest revenue ~$3,000/month. We're just now starting to dig into SEO and I'm realizing that most of our keywords aren't very high volume. The best have 1,000 local searches per month (exact match) with most being a couple hundred local searches. I'm worried that I've picked a market that's too small, but I don't have the SEO experience to know if this is normal or not. Most of my keywords are rated 'highly competitive' and also are stacked with CPC ads upon Google search. I'd love to know what others' experience with keyword volume is and if I'm just overreacting on limited knowledge. Thanks!

SerpIQ vs. Keyword Difficulty tool
http://imgur.com/6uidr Is this any good for keyword research? I see they use some weird metric and I'm not sure whether those are relevant at all, plus it's really hard to do a bulk research. Let me know what you think.
