Deleting hidden H6 headers
-
Dear Moz members,
In our webshop we have hidden H6 headers for example: http://www.rijwielcashencarry.nl/bovag-fietsreparatie and then the diagnoses chrome://seoquake/content/modules/diagnosis/diagnosis.html?id=1.
How can we delete the h6 headers because i dont see them in the editor. It looks like they are somewhere in the source code. But where?
Greeting,
A SEO Noob

Hi there!
I took a look at the source code for the page you provided and the hidden H6 headers you are referring to is a CSS class named 'H6' and not actually a proper H6 tag being used. The diagnosis must be picking them up and telling you that they are H6 header tags.
Hope this clears things up

Thank you Martijn, I wil do that.

Hi, you probably would be better off on a web development forum. My guess is that you're using a CMS and the web development community usually knows a bit more on that topic.

Hi Iybi,
Thanks for your respond. My excuses if this ain't the right forum, i am just starting with this. I am optimizing the pages and came into this problem.
Greetings

Why do you want to delete them? Not sure how this is a Moz related questions to be honest. Might be better for a web dev forum.

Changing commenting platforms...will deleting old comments hurt SEO?
Hi everyone, We've decided to move away from Disqus and use Facebook comments on one of our blogs. Our users prefer it, and we saw traffic increase when we did it on another site. My question is, will removing old comments (we have hundreds of them per post) hurt my seo? I've scoured the internet for an answer but can't find anything up to date. Old best practices said to keep old comments. What do you think? Thanks!

Delete or not delete outdated content
Hi there!
On-Page Optimization | | Enrico_Cassinelli
We run a website about a region in Italy, the Langhe area, where we write about wine and food, local culture, and we give touristic informations. The website also sports a nice events calendar: in 4 years we (and our users) loaded more than 5700 events. Now, we're starting to have some troubles managing this database. The database related to events is huge both in file size and number of rows. There are a lot of images that eat up disk space, and also it's becoming difficult to manage all the data in our backend. Also, a lot of users are entering the website by landing on outdated events. I was wondering if it could be a good idea to delete events older than 6 months: the idea was to keep only the most important and yearly recurring events (which we can update each year with fresh information), and trash everything else. This of course means that 404 errors will increase, and also that our content will gettin thinner, but at the same time we'll have a more manageable database, and the content will be more relevant and "clean". What do you think? thank you 🙂 Best0 -
E-commerce can we delete all products that have never sold for 10 years?
Hello, We're switching from a mediocre cart to Volusion.com, which I love. We've been in business for 10 years and have 8500 products. At least 75% of the products have never sold once. How do we know how many of those we can delete when switching carts? We only want to switch over the products we have to. Thanks! Bob

Is this hidden content?
Hi all, I was wondering if the homepage of www.dirtylooks.com has hidden content in a search engines eyes. There is some text which appears underneath a tile called "hair tools" that has to be scrolled in order to be viewed by a visitor. As this isn't the typical white on white or off page by CSS hidden content are we in danger of being penalised?

SEO HTML: Header tags
A few of quick SEO questions regarding header tags: More than one tag per page. If there is more than one tag on a page: are both taken into consideration and what if they contain the same keyword? Eg on the page: http://en.emilea.be/childrens-clothes/molo/boys/cardigans-and-sweaters/ MoloBoysCardigans & sweaters ... Molo childrens clothes Is the 2nd considered when indexing the page? Since both tags contain the same keyword (but in different context) is this a SEO plus or minus? Nested tags inside header tags. I presume the nested tags are omitted, but if there is no white space between the tags are these concatenated? <span tag='molo'>Molo<span tag='boys'>Boys<span tag='cardigans-and-sweaters'>Cardigans & sweaters</span tag='cardigans-and-sweaters'></span tag='boys'></span tag='molo'> How is the above header processed? MoloBoysCardigans & sweaters

or
2) Molo Boys Cardigans & sweaters Order of header tags.
How important is the order of header tags and how do they influence the following content. F.ex. if the top part of the page contains multiple tags and the middle part contains 1-2 tags. Does this affect the importance of the tags and would it be better to use tags above? Thanks in advance.0 -

I just transfered my free wordpress.com blog to my main business site and I did not know if I should delete my old blog or is it a big issue to have the same content on both sites. I will be adding to my biz site from now on.

Reducing the site's header to get more content Above the Fold
The user bizzer posted the following question on the post (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/guide-to-ads😞 "I've got my above the fold area very light on advertising since Panda. But reading #4 about the "template" makes me wonder if I should go further and reduce the height of my header area and maybe even remove one of my two sidebars, so as to increase the content-to-template ratio above the fold. Make sense?" What do you think?
