Moosa is right I don't know if you want to make open site Explorer a better tool or a few who are looking for alternate tools?

I'll give you the usual suspects just in case Ahrefs, MajesticSEO, monitor backlinks ( quite inexpensive and kind of cool)

I use all of the above but Moz has something very special about it meaning it has the closest thing to what Google Webmaster tools has and that counts a lot.

so from what little you've written I'm going to guess you're looking for more backlink tools and I'm going to list some because that's what I think you want.

You could do a lot of things, so one of them is that you're able to check the top landing pages for a competitor to see what kind of content is doing well.
