2 accounts or one

I have accidently made my clients website into 2 websites.
originally the site had a wordpress blog.... ie www.xxx.com/blog
I gave the blog a name and attached a domain to it by creating a addon domain. So the address is now www.yyy.com instead of /blog
The site is for an accommodation provider and the blog is more travel advice and location specific activites and places etc.
what i would like to know:
1. Am I better off reverting back to /blog?
2. Am I better off with 2 distinct websites?
3. How would I have a 2nd domain on the blog without chopping my website into 2?.
thanks!!!...

Thanks,
What I'm going to do is attach the domain to the blog, but the blog will just remain the same blog.

Your blog would be just a page on your site. I think with WordPress you don't have to necessarily install the blog on a subdomain, which is what you did originally. I would follow the instructions in the backend of your site on how to run the WordPress blog as a page on your domain instead of as a subdomain. Or, just create a blog page without using WordPress.

Ive deleted the addon domain..... which really is a subdomain....
so now I have a www.com/blog
I have a domain name.
How would I go about attaching a domain name to the blog?
-
I think they are different. But I am not sure why.....
here's the difference... its small so they are the same....

I have never heard of an addon domain, so I am assuming they are the same.
-
I put a wordpress site in the /blog folder.
I then created an addon domain that used this folder.... This was the advice of the hosting company....
Im not sure if its a subdomain
-
If you already have the subdomain created, redirect it to the main domain/blog

Thanks for the responses. Id love to have the /blog but to attach a domain to it for marketing purposes without it being 2 accounts. I agree , its better to have one account.
How exactly do I attach the domain to the main blog?. ie xyz/blog so that it doesnt become 2 websites?
Do I park it? (bad for seo)
Addon domain (creates 2 accounts)
Can I put a new domain on a subdomain? without it being 2 accounts.???

Hi there! Yes, you are better off reverting back to /blog. This will result in a better user experience, consolidate the authority of your content into a single domain, and simplify site management.
-
It isn't unnatural to have a blog on a subdomain. Many sites use subdomains for blogs, support sections, FAQs. Even Google uses subdomains. GWT is google.com/webmasters, but adwords is on a subdomain, adwords.google.com.
I would move the blog back to the /blog address only because you want the quality content on the main domain. If you want to leave the subdomain there, I don't see any direct negative effects, but having it on the domain would be best practice.
-
I would combine them back into 1 website as it would really hack me off having to log into both to update.
The website I would image would be www.xyz.com and the blog would be www.xyz.com/blog. You could park the other domain if you have to and redirect it to www.xyz.com/blog

Blog Page Titles - Page 1, Page 2 etc.
Hi All, I have a couple of crawl errors coming up in MOZ that I am trying to fix. They are duplicate page title issues with my blog area. For example we have a URL of www.ourwebsite.com/blog/page/1 and as we have quite a few blog posts they get put onto another page, example www.ourwebsite.com/blog/page/2 both of these urls have the same heading, title, meta description etc. I was just wondering if this was an actual SEO problem or not and if there is a way to fix it. I am using Wordpress for reference but I can't see anywhere to access the settings of these pages. Thanks

Google lists eBay.au number one for vertical garden and their sellers are using my IMAGES
Is there anyway of getting Google to slap eBay with a loss of page rank ? eBay.au has number one position for vertical garden in google.com.au. (search 9000). Fair enough I suppose because they are delivering a huge range of vertical garden products BUT the sellers are using images for their products that are not showing their products. Most of the sellers are flogging China copies - and I mean these are really bad copies. But what angers me even more is some of their top sellers are using MY IMAGES. They have taken my images used on a UK website and have reused them in AUstralia. Sellers have even rebranded my images. GRRRRR Is there some international sin bin where I can name and shame? Does Google care about such matters?

domain.com/pl/ etc. Soon I plan redesign, new CMS and I plan to register 9 new ccTLDs. My question is: Can I 301 redirect domain.com/ru/ to domain.ru without having some bad effect on domain.com? I mean, the main domain, com is not going to be affected by permanent redirect of one url to completly new domain right?0 -
SEO problems from moving from several pages to one accordian
Ive read other posts that say using accordion is not detrimental to SEO, and for conversion optimization we want to take several of our existing pages and make them into one accordion. But what will this do to seo and duplicate content as I redirect the old pages to anchors in the accordion? I would think this would be a dup content problem as www.oldinfo1 www.oldinfo2 will now have their content on the same page but I will be redirecting them to www.newpage#oldinfo1 www.newpage#oldinfo2 Is there a way around duplicate content problems?

Nofollow links if you have more than one link on a page to the same destination.
Hi, I am wondering if someone can confirm that its best practice to have nofollow on secondary links on a page. For instance the contact page may have a link in the navigation and in the the blurb down the page have another link to the contact page saying contact us here etc.. So in this instance i would put a nofollow on the secondary link in the blurb would this be the best way to impliment this. Many thanks Chris

Multiple site in one? Recommendations?
I have 2 companies that essential do the same thing. They have different names and different domain names. One is a USA company and the other is a South American Company. My intnent was to create a single site with both english and spanish content and then create a english home page and a spanish homepage. I was hoping to direct the spanish domain name to the spanish homepage and the english to the english homepage. This way I will only have one site to maintain - one ecommerce site to maintain and can direct teh links to a single site - although they will essentially be kinda different. My question is... what are the pluses and minuses of doing this? Would I better creating 2 separate sites? is there going to be an issue with google maybe seeing duplicate content although the pages are seperate for each language? Any other considerations that I just wasnt smart enough to think of?
