H2 Tags- Can you have more than 1 H2 tag

Hi All,
Screaming frog has identified that we have a few H2 tags on our pages , although we only have 1 H1 tag. We have numerous H3,H4's etc.
I am wondering, is it good SEO to have only 1 H2 tag like with H1 tag or can you have more ?

If you think of H tags as part of an outline, it makes sense to have just one H1 but more than one H2, H3, etc.
The H1 should be your most important, broadest subject for the page, and then H2s, 3s, etc would relate to more specific aspects of that.

Yes, it's good to only have one H1 tag. However, will you get penalized for having more than one? No, just use them sparingly (according to Matt Cutts here).

You may use more than one of ANY Hx tag (even 1), there has been some argument about risking penalties for using more then one H1, but with the way HTML5 sites are going it is starting to wain towards more people doing it.. Before this debate, I don't recall much conflict about using H2 tags more then once. I would just be careful about it and use them appropriately.

Why is our noindex tag not working?
Hi, I have the following page where we've implemented a no index tag. But when we run this page in screaming frog or this tool here to verify the noidex is present and functioning, it shows that it's not. But if you view the source of the page, the code is present in the head tag. And unfortunately we've seen instances where Google is indexing pages we've noindexed. Are pages with a canonical tag indexed?
Hello here, here are my questions for you related to the canonical tag: 1. If I put online a new webpage with a canonical tag pointing to a different page, will this new page be indexed by Google and will I be able to find it in the index? 2. Can penalties be passed via 301 redirect?
I have a well established domain that's been hit with some penalties. It hasn't been nuked off the map, just downgraded, especially on short-tail, one word type queries. I'm planning on redirecting this domain to another well established domain. The domains already have a history of lots of interlinking and are very similar from a subject matter standpoint. I feel that the penalized domain has been hit with an "over-optimization" of link anchor text penalty (I'm hoping it's algorithmic, but it could be manual). My question is if anyone has ever heard of a penalty like this being transferred to another domain through a 301 redirect. My hope is that the penalty just puts a cap on how much juice the redirect can pass, rather than transferring the penalty to the other domain itself. Any thoughts on this?
