Am I spamming my Keyword?
-
Hi All
I am trying to rank my site for many key phrases but the pretty much always contain the word "Sussex"
The biggy with a lot of competition is "Caterers Sussex" and similar variations
when I view source on their page I find that Gastro catering's code uses "sussex" 92 times in it code.
My site www.SussexChef.com uses the word "Sussex" 590 times, the competitors site mentions the word less in its code and is dominant for all my desirable key words.
Am I spamming my keyword by using Sussex too often when naming my image file? Is there anything in this or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks for your help
Ben

Hey
Thanks, that's a weight off my mind, some of my pages only have the word "Sussex" in the copy once or twice I was just trying to see why the other site has such an edge over mine and wondered if ti could be down to that.
Thanks for your insight

I suggest focusing less on Keyword Density (the amount of time that you use a keyword on a given page) and more on creating value-added content around your keyword - including synonyms and closely related keywords.
Do not worry about overuse of the word in your image file names. However, your image file names should represent what the image is. I.e. Sussex catering team, Sussex catering chef Joe Schmoe
Overusing a single keyword, or group of closely related keywords, could be viewed as keyword spamming. I would worry less about this in your image file names and worry more if the same keyword is used throughout your page copy. If you're reading your content and finding that you're using the word Sussex in ever sentence, that's going to be too much.
Create copy that is easy to read, quick to understand, and focused on your keyword terms.

How specific do I have to be when adding keyword to the meta title which I am trying to rank for?
I am looking for some clarity on what exactly you need to spell out for google in the exact match and what google understands in terms of using keywords in your meta title which I am trying to rank for. For example if my category page is for women's top, with both printed and solid color options, would it be ok to write- "Women's Tops: Printed & Solid Shirts & Tunics" and be able to rank for women's tops, women's printed tops, women's solid shirts etc. or would I have to be more specific and use women's as the keyword modifier before each term and write- "Women's Tops, Women's Printed & Solid Shirts, Women's Tunics"?

My Meta Description changes when i use different keyword in google search.
Hello everyone, I have a question for the community. I have a website with several articles and news that i manage. I set specific meta descriptions for every page but when i search in google it gives me back different meta descriptions depending on the keyword that i use to search. What i notice is that google looks in my page for the most relevant part of the text that combines with my keyword and gives me back that result. I thought that this only happen when i have an empty meta description. Anyone felt the same ? Best Ricardo www.meuportalfinanceiro.pt

Spammy link for each keyword
Some people believe that having a link for each keyword and a page of content for each keyword (300+ words) can help ranking for those keywords. However, the old approach of having "restaurant New York", "restaurant Buffalo", "restaurant Newark" approach has become seen as a terrible SEO practice. I don't know whether this was because it's spammy or because people usually combined it with thin content that was 95% duplicate. Which brings us to; http://hungryhouse.co.uk/ Why does such a major company have the following on the site (see the footer); Aberdeen Takeaway Birmingham Takeaway Brighton Takeaway Bristol Takeaway Cambridge Takeaway Canterbury Takeaway Cardiff Takeaway Coventry Takeaway Edinburgh Takeaway Glasgow Takeaway Leeds Takeaway Leicester Takeaway Liverpool Takeaway London Takeaway Manchester Takeaway Newcastle Takeaway Nottingham Takeaway Sheffield Takeaway Southampton Takeaway York Takeaway Indian Takeaway Chinese Takeaway Thai Takeaway Italian Takeaway Cantonese Takeaway Pizza Delivery Sushi Takeaway Kebab Takeaway Fish and Chips Sandwiches Do they know something I don't? </dd> <dt>Explanation</dt> <dd>It's a best practice in SEO to target each keyword with a single page on your site (sometimes two if you've already achieved high rankings and are seeking a second, indented listing). To prevent engines from potentially seeing a signal that this page is not the intended ranking target and creating additional competition for your page, we suggest staying away from linking internally to another page with the target keyword(s) as the exact anchor text. Keyword use in Title tag?
To improve SEO on a particular keyword, should you use that same keyword in the title tag of multiple pages within your site? Will that help or would it actually hurt by causing pages within your site to complete against each other for that keyword? Does it make a difference if that keyword is truly used on all those different pages?
