Publisher Markup Testing
-
Does anyone know how to test publisher markup with the new Google structured data testing tool?
-
The good news is you're not crazy - I've tested a few sites I know for sure have rel=publisher implemented correctly and it's not showing the publisher markup in the tool. I imagine it's a bug in the tool (it's a notoriously buggy tool). The bad news is there's not much to be done but wait for the tool to be updated. In the meantime, you can spot-check your markup by googling your brand regularly - sooner or later you should see the publisher markup be added to your brand SERP. You can also check your Google+ page to make sure you get the little check mark that says "verified site." Sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but I don't think there is one!

Hi, unfortunately this is not possible yet in the new SDTT. I really hope Google will give us something to test these kind of strucuterd data , but for now you have to trust yourself.
if you do it like this way: http://www.vervesearch.com/blog/how-to-implement-the-relpublisher-google-authorship-mark-up/
you'll be fine!Grtz, Leonie

A/B testing entire website VS Seo issues
I'm familar with A/B testing variations of a page but I'd like to A/B test a new designs version of a e-commerce site. I´m wondering about the best way to test with SEO concerns... this is what I´ve in mind right now, any suggestion? Use parameters to make version B different from A version. Redirect 50% of the users with 302 ( or javascript would be a better way?) Use noindex in the B pages. Use rel=canonical in the B pages pointing to A version. In the end use 301 redirect to all B pages to A urls. PS: We can´t use subdomain and i don´t wanna use robots.txt file to protect the new design from competitors. I´d love any suggestions and tips about it - thanks folks 🙂

Is it appropriate to use review markup for testimonials without numerical rankings
If a site has written testimonials from past clients, what is/is there an appropriate way to mark these up in schema since they don't have a specific numerical rating attached to them?

Duplicate content due to credit card testing
I recently launched a site - http://www.footballtriviaquestions.co.uk and the site uses Paypal. In order to test the PayPal functionality I set up a zapto.org domain via a permanent IP service that points directly to the computer I've written the website on. It appears that Google has now indexed the zapto.org website. Will this cause problems to my main website, as the zapto.org website will pretty much contain content that is an exact duplicate of what is held on the main website. I've looked in Google webmaster tools for the main website and it doesn't mention any duplicate content, but I'm currently not in the top 50 ranking for "football trivia questions' on Google despite SEOMoz ranking my home page with an A rating. The page does rank at position 16 in Yahoo and Bing. This seems odd to me, although I do have very few back links pointing to my site. If the duplicate content is likely to be causing me problems what would be the best way to knock the zapto.org results out of Google

Authorship and Publisher on WordPress
I successfully enabled rel=publisher on our WordPress blog, and as a test I also enabled rel=authorship for a set of blog posts. (Tested both in Google's Rich Snippets Tester.) However, on the individual blog posts the publisher credit disappears. Is there a way to enable both to appear on blog posts?

Will password protecting my test sub-domain help keep the SEs from indexing it?
Hi, all. I'm working in an unfamiliar area here, so I hope someone can tell me if I'm out in left field. I am building a sub-domain called http://test.mysite.com, so that I can upload a client's still-under-construction site while working on it. When completed, it'll go up on his server, replacing his old site. Obviously, I want to ensure that it doesn't get indexed while it's on my test platform. A friend suggested that I password it with htaccess and htpasswd, since we can never be certain the SEs will obey site directives. My question is, what do you think would be the best (and hopefully, simplest) way to accomplish this? I'm no code-monkey, so "simple" is a big plus! Doc By the way, the platform will be Wordpress CMS.
