Exact Keyword is Used in Page Title & Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once
-
Hi Folks,
I have a page https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-training/itil-foundation-training/itil-foundation that grades with the 'On-Page Grader' as a B grade for the keyword 'itil foundation' but reports that there is no 'Exact Keyword is Used in Page Title' and 'Exact Keyword Used in Document Text at Least Once'.
The thing is, it actually is but because of IP (intellectual property) rights we have to include a '' () symbol when we mention the course title 'ITIL Foundation'.
Now I believe Google is smart enough to recognise that this symbol should not be included but it seems that for the specific criteria mentioned above, the MOZ bot isn't smart enough to recognise this, even though it recognises the keyword usage elsewhere.
So my question is this. Would this constitute an issue in terms of ranking?
Another question I have, is how significant are the gains with shorter URL's? For example, the URL to the page in question is:
https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-training/itil-foundation-training/itil-foundation
Would a URL such as below have a significant effect on SEO?:
https://purplegriffon.com/courses/itil-foundation
Thanks for your feedback.

On question 1, I'm surprised it's that specific that you can't include a space. I'm inclined to think Google knows the difference, but there isn't much out there. I did find this, but it's not definitive: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/registered-trademarks-and-other-symbols-in-the-title-tag/20463/. I may just try testing the impact of a mark (TM or R) next to the keyword. That would be useful to know.
On question 2, I did a little more research and found this question answered quite nicely a couple years ago by Moz member Edward R. Jenkins: http://moz.com/community/q/maximum-length-of-the-url-for-seo-75-115

Hi Joey,
Thanks for your feedback.
In terms of question 1, yes the registration mark must immediately precede the brand. For question 2, is there significant SEO benefit in doing so, forgetting for the time being user experience?
Thanks

Question 1: What would it hurt if you separate it yourself by putting a space between the word and the mark, like this? 'ITIL ' I have long done this to make sure keywords stand alone, particularly in titles. Is there a rule that the has to be right next to the keyword?
Question 2: The longer URL looks very spammy to me. I'd go with quality of quantity on this one, with quality being a better user experience with a shorter URL.

Just ran a crawl test of the website and this page http://www.livingphilosophy.org.uk/teaching-philosophy/index.htm came back with a page authority of 1. Dup titles based on capitaization
I am getting a lot of duplicate title errors when the only difference reported in SEOMoz's detail download shows that the capitalization in URL's from 2 referrer's is slightly different. But there's really only one page. See the example list of dups below: Title: <colgroup><col width="511"></colgroup>

| College Classroom Maps | URL: <colgroup><col width="566"></colgroup>
| http://www.wall-maps.com/Classroom/College-maps.htm | Dup'S URL from another page: <colgroup><col width="566"></colgroup>
| http://www.wall-maps.com/Classroom/College-Maps.htm | So you see the M in maps is capitalized in the A tag on the second referring page. I would be pretty shocked to learn that Google would consider this a duplicate title, but I am always learning new things. I do have canonical set up on my home page because this site can be accessed by www.wall-maps.com and wall-maps.com. So I don't think it's a lack of a canonical. Could this be a bug in SEOMoz's crawler or is it because IIS is not case sensitive and maybe Apache is?? Thanks in advance to whom ever can shed some light on this. Ted0 -
How does SEOmoz pull its duplicate page title and content information?
I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site. For example: http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool. http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist). ?? We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from. When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up. Thoughts? Thanks! Janelle

Using the On-Page optimization Report Card
I am curious if there is a way to get the on page optimization report card to not show a grade of "F" for a page that I'm not targeting a particular keyword for? For example my home page has a lot of grade "F's" for keywords that are targeted on different pages.

Title too long
When I look at the Crawl Results for Title Too Long, I receive several pages of results. If I want to print these results as a PDF, only the first page prints. When I go to the Next Page and attempt to create a PDF of the second page of results, the PDF only contains results from the first page - which I have already printed. When I ask for a CSV of the results, I receive ALL of the results but NOT the "over by x characters" that I see in the online results and in the PDF. The "over by x characters" would be very helpful! How can I get PDF printouts of ALL pages of the results, not just the first page? Thanks.

Duplicate page title
I own a store www.mzube.co.uk and the scam always says that I have duplicate page titles or duplicate page. What happens is thn I may have for example www.mzube.co.uk/allproducts/page1. And if I hve 20 pages all what will change from each page is the number at the end and all the rest of the page name will be the same but really the pages are if different products. So the scans think I have 20 pages the same but I havent Is this a concern as I don't think I can avoid this Hope you can answer

Multiple Anchor text Links to 1 Page
Hi, Currently we have this page on our site - http://www.highstreetvouchers.com/gift-vouchers/gift-vouchers-cards.jsp It contains both "Gift Vouchers " & "Gift Cards" content which are 2 keywords we are targeting for. Currently the top nav link anchor is "Gift Vouchers & Gift Cards" If we were to change the top nav to be "Gift Vouchers" & "Gift Cards" as different tabs, both linking to the same page, what might be the SEO consequences? thanks
