#1 on Bing, nowhere on Google. Should be at least top 3\. Any ideas?

I have a page that "should" be top 3 on Google - it's optimised (A on the Moz Pro page grader), it's the most relevant result (it's for an e-book, and the page is the publisher's page for the e-book). Other pages on the site for other books are top of the Google SERPs, and this page itself is top in Bing for the search phrase.
The page is https://camphorpress.com/books/formosan-odyssey/ and the keyphrase I want to rank for is "formosan odyssey" (with or without the quotes). Does anyone have any insight as to why it's not ranking in Google? Over-optimised? Duplicate content?

It's the only page on that site with a review - I wonder if that might have something to do with it? I'll ask them to resize and smush the images but as you say, it's ranking for other keyword combinations, so that's likely not the root cause. It's a strange one.

Strange case - you do rank for the full title (Formosan Odyssey: Taiwan, Past and Present - position 3) - and number 1 for the first phrase of your description. Google works in mysterious ways...
Two remarks on the page - the image of the cover is incredibly heavy (https://camphorpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Formosan-Odyssey-cover.jpg) - you might to optimise that & there is an issue with the review markup (check https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ - reviewed item is missing)
However - the heavy covers equally apply to the other pages on your site, and I imagine the review markup problem as well so it's not an explanation of why this specific page doesn't rank for the book title.

The page has been live for a year. It is indexed by Google, as evidenced by this search: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:camphorpress.com+formosan+odyssey
No issues in Webmaster Tools either, that I can see.

Would love to hear people's thoughts on this. Have seen it before but never looked much deeper because it was so much more important for us to rank our client on Google.

I think, its not ranking for over optimised. I tested a project. Which project for Google and Bing. I saw When I optimized any link without google rules, my keyword ranked on bing but i didn`t find my keyword in top 10 page of google. Thats called over optimize.
Why i didn`t say anything about duplicate content, Cause i have a affiliate website of amazon. But its completely duplicate content i posted. But some link ranked on google.
Beside, Google didn't rank when i submited in some spam directory or spam directory network. So If you want to rank on google, You need to optimise content. Social Signal is the best way for getting rank on google. Also Valuable directory submission can help you for getting rank.
I saw you submitted your link in lots of site. Thats why PA increased but not ranked on googl. But You social signal is very low. Increase social signal, i think your page will rank on google. and remove bad link by Webmaster tool.

How long ago did you create the page? I can see a Twitter feed on page 2 referring to you. Perhaps the actual page has not been indexed as yet? Have you checked in webmasters?

How long does Google/Bing take to index
Hello we have 2-3 new pages being submitted every night to google/bing via our sitemap. Two issues I am noticing. Wondering if anyone else has same issues. a) 22 URL submitted via sitemap but only 1 indexed in two weeks. there are no errors showing b) If i submit manually using "Fetch As Google" and request indexing - the page gets indexed right way but after a day it seems to be unindexed - it will show up when i search (site:domain.com) but then disappear from the results doing the same search a few days later. Is this normal or do i have a problem that needs addressing? thank you

Google Not Indexing Submitted Images
Hi Guys! My question isn't too dissimilar to one asked a couple of years ago, regarding Google and image indexing, but having put my web address into a Google image search, I get a return of 15 images, so something isn't right. 5 months ago I submitted our 'new' site to Google webmaster. We have just moved it onto a Shopify platform. They (Shopify) are good at providing places to add titles and Alt tags and likewise we fill them in (so that box ticked!) However I have noticed over the last couple of months that despite 161 images being submitted, only 51 have been indexed. Furthermore and as I said earlier, when you put our site, site:http://www.hartnackandco.com into Google images, it only returns a total of 15 images. Any suggestions and help would be wonderful! Any ideas why this site is being penalized?
http://www.my-french-house.com/ has been online since around 2004 and has nearly always been in the top 10 serps for terms like 'property for sale in france'. However, over the last 12 months we've been hit really hard by Google and have fallen dramatically in rank. Can anyone give any insight into what may have happened? As an aside, we've had no message in the Google Webmaster Console and have not contacted Google about the apparent penalty / penalization. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Jim

Dev Site Was Indexed By Google
Two of our dev sites(subdomains) were indexed by Google. They have since been made private once we found the problem. Should we take another step to remove the subdomain through robots.txt or just let it ride out? From what I understand, to remove the subdomain from Google we would verify the subdomain on GWT, then give the subdomain it's own robots.txt and disallow everything. Any advice is welcome, I just wanted to discuss this before making a decision.

Google not indexing my website
Hi guys, We have this website http://www.m-health-expo.nl/ but it is not indexed by google. In webmaster tools google says that it can not fetch the site due to the robots.txt but i do not see any faults in it. http://www.m-health-expo.nl/robots.txt Do you see something strange, it really bothers me.

2 websites 1 Google account?
quick question, I have set up my second website purely for seasonal stock so getting it online early ready for when the time is right. But i only have a single web master tools & ad words account, would there be any problem with the single accounts having the details for both websites? or would it be wise to have separate accounts for each site?

Sudden drop in Google with our top performing keywords
Hi, I'm writing about the sudden drop in our keyword rankings from our site www.activitybreaks.com. Our keywords that have significantly seen a drop have been activity holidays was 8th now 16th Adventure holidays was 15th now 71st We have been listed on the first page for a number of keywords but these has suddenly dropped in the last couple of days. We did receive a notice on the 19th May from Google stating that they detected unnatural links. So we spent a couple of weeks getting the links removed and have re-submitted the site on 11th June. When I go into Google webmaster there is no reply from Google as yet and the links are still showing even though we know they have been removed. We also noticed in the last couple of days that we had a duplicate home page but this has now since been removed. Should we re-submit our site to Google for reconsideration or wait to they get back to us. Is there anything else we can be doing to fix this situation. Let me know if you have any ideas! Why is google ignoring my sitelinks demotions?
I'm referring to the sitelinks that appear in the SERPs when searching for my brand name. 6 subpages come up- some found in my main navigation, some not. 3 of the 6 sitelinks have been demoted in Webmaster Tools under "Site Configuration > Sitelinks." I realize that they say in their instructions: "Google doesn't guarantee that demoted URLs will never appear as a sitelink, but we do consider a demotion a strong hint that we'll try to honor when generating sitelinks." I am just surprised they would ignore 3 of the demotions and for so long. The pages that are demoted do not have very many internal links pointing to them (unlike other pages of my site that are targeted specifically). Also, the site has tens of thousands of pages to choose from. Why are they ignoring my request? What else can I do to fix this?
