#1 on Bing, nowhere on Google. Should be at least top 3\. Any ideas?

I have a page that "should" be top 3 on Google - it's optimised (A on the Moz Pro page grader), it's the most relevant result (it's for an e-book, and the page is the publisher's page for the e-book). Other pages on the site for other books are top of the Google SERPs, and this page itself is top in Bing for the search phrase.
The page is https://camphorpress.com/books/formosan-odyssey/ and the keyphrase I want to rank for is "formosan odyssey" (with or without the quotes). Does anyone have any insight as to why it's not ranking in Google? Over-optimised? Duplicate content?

It's the only page on that site with a review - I wonder if that might have something to do with it? I'll ask them to resize and smush the images but as you say, it's ranking for other keyword combinations, so that's likely not the root cause. It's a strange one.

Strange case - you do rank for the full title (Formosan Odyssey: Taiwan, Past and Present - position 3) - and number 1 for the first phrase of your description. Google works in mysterious ways...
Two remarks on the page - the image of the cover is incredibly heavy (https://camphorpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Formosan-Odyssey-cover.jpg) - you might to optimise that & there is an issue with the review markup (check https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ - reviewed item is missing)
However - the heavy covers equally apply to the other pages on your site, and I imagine the review markup problem as well so it's not an explanation of why this specific page doesn't rank for the book title.

The page has been live for a year. It is indexed by Google, as evidenced by this search: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:camphorpress.com+formosan+odyssey
No issues in Webmaster Tools either, that I can see.

Would love to hear people's thoughts on this. Have seen it before but never looked much deeper because it was so much more important for us to rank our client on Google.

I think, its not ranking for over optimised. I tested a project. Which project for Google and Bing. I saw When I optimized any link without google rules, my keyword ranked on bing but i didn`t find my keyword in top 10 page of google. Thats called over optimize.
Why i didn`t say anything about duplicate content, Cause i have a affiliate website of amazon. But its completely duplicate content i posted. But some link ranked on google.
Beside, Google didn't rank when i submited in some spam directory or spam directory network. So If you want to rank on google, You need to optimise content. Social Signal is the best way for getting rank on google. Also Valuable directory submission can help you for getting rank.
I saw you submitted your link in lots of site. Thats why PA increased but not ranked on googl. But You social signal is very low. Increase social signal, i think your page will rank on google. and remove bad link by Webmaster tool.

How long ago did you create the page? I can see a Twitter feed on page 2 referring to you. Perhaps the actual page has not been indexed as yet? Have you checked in webmasters?

Keyword rankings for new website good in Yahoo and Bing but no movement in Google?
Hello, This past September I launched a new redesigned website for a client. His old website was a static html site that was many years old and the new website was created using WordPress. With the new design we made sure to use all the proper techniques for SEO. (h1 tages, image names, quality links, page titles, etc.) Plus, all the content is new content written for this site. I've actually launched new sites many times and after a few months usually start seeing keyword ranking improvements from the major search engines. With this particular website I'm seeing improvements in Yahoo and Bing but no movement in Google. I've used Google Webmaster Tools and made sure my sitemap is being submitted, etc. It all seems good, but I can't understand why Yahoo and Bing are working but nothing from Google. My page grades are all A's and B's and Moz isn't showing any big issues. Maybe I need to give it more time? This client is a lawyer and has many websites out there so maybe he's being penalized somewhere I don't know? As I mentioned, I've been doing SEO for about 8 years and have never had this much trouble with Google. I was wondering if you can look at the site and see if there are any glaring issues I'm missing. Google Penalty Investigation
Hi All, I've recently had a google penalty, and have spent a long while working through tying up any loose ends with my site (I'm building a new one, so you'll still see some probs on my current one). My search referrals do slowly seem to be recovering, but only for variations of terms that are similar to 'bike repair'. Now, my site does primarily offer bike repair advice, so that's a good thing, but I'm not yet ranking for any of my specific keywords. One example is that I used to rank quite high for the term 'schrader valve'. Is this a signal of anything in particular? Or can I not read anything specific into this? Thanks!

Google Places, Google Plus, Oh my!
Ok - So I am in the position to try and clean up the current Google places nightmare for a company. Right now there is about 3 or 4 different google places listings for them that they have no control over. So here is what I did: 1. I took control of them all by verifying via phone and confirmed all of them. 2. I suspended all the listings but 1 3. I edited the one listing to be accurate and complete.

Then I waited, and waited... A month later, the old listings are still up and none of the changes to the one listing have been made. Today it gets a bit more complicated. Today I created a Google+ page for the business which seems like it may end up adding yet ANOTHER Google Places listing, is that correct? They are sending a post card to verify, but I have the page all set up ready to go and plan on tying it to the website. Having a discussion on if we should include our domain at the end of each site page. Re read over the following pages and question remove the brand to keep under 70 characters? or Shorten the page Title before the brand? Let the title exceed 70 characters? What is your thoughts?

How to block google robots from a subdomain
I have a subdomain that lets me preview the changes I put on my site. The live site URL is www.site.com, working preview version is www.site.edit.com The contents on both are almost identical I want to block the preview version (www.site.edit.com) from Google Robots, so that they don't penalize me for duplicated content. Is it the right way to do it: User-Agent: * Disallow: .edit.com/*

How to improve my google backlinks
Hi i have just checked my google back links for my site www.in2town.co.uk and it has said that i have only five, not sure where these are from as the tool i was using did not tell me. But i have looked at my compeditors and they have a few hundred and some have thousands so i am just wondering what i need to do to compete and get more backlinks.
