Same Back Links To All 20 Pages On My Site?
-
Hi All
I have researched 20 plumber blogs and citation sources all have page rank 1-8 and good trust and domain age.
Would it be wise to have a backlink to each of my 20 web pages from these 20 different blogs?
plumber blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
plumbing blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
how to fix leaky tap blog a backlink to all 20 pages on my plumbing site
how to pick the best gas boiler blog a backlink to all my 20 pages on my plumbing site
and so on
as my website is united kingdom and serve UK only, should i not use USA blogs & citation sources as this might not help increase my organic rankings?
thanks

Hi there,
from what I understand of your premise, you are asking whether you should create multiple backlinks from the same sources to each of your 20 pages. There are 2 issues you have to contend with here:
- Backlink density and propogation
As far as acquiring links goes, the key factor here is not so much the number of links you acquire, but the quality they provide your site. After gaining a link to your domain from another domain, the value of future links to your domain from the same domain diminishes, making this an extremely poor expenditure of resources on your part. For example, Google wants to see multiple domains linking to individual pages on your site rather than the same sources connecting to your site over and over on different pages. This approach is just more natural in its appearance.
Here is an updated guide to general link-building. I think this would do you some good:

- Backlink locality
Since you operate a website purely in the U.K., links from outside your country will likely be less relevant geographically if they come from other countries, but the pages being linked may not matter. For example, blogs involving tips to fix a leaky faucet or a clogged drain are likely to be equally valid regardless of who writes them or from where. On the other hand, if your site is attempting to find customers for a plumbing client of yours, it doesn't make sense to get links from plumbing material manufacturers in Texas if you work in the U.K.
To illustrate this, here is a personal favorite of mine from Rand:

In short, stick to 1 link per domain to your site unless there is something extremely relevant to your site and you feel the extra effort of building that link is worth it. Links built from UK sources are likely to be more valuable to your overall, but you can also find relevant information and data from international sources depending on the topic (in this case, informational pieces, perhaps in regards to DIY plumbing projects).
Hope this helps and feel free to follow up with further questions,
Rob

Google My Business pages for New Construction Communities
I have a number of builders of new homes as clients. Typically, they build out a whole neighborhood at once and give the neighborhood a fancy name. We were planning to create Google My Business pages for these communities but then ran into some potential challenges. As new communities, they are sometimes not on Google's radar yet Some of them have model homes where you might take a tour with a realtor that serves the community exclusively but many don't. So here come the questions... Is there a way to make Google speed up its process of recognizing new addresses? I have to choose an address to associate with the GMB page, probably the address of model home. Is this going to create annoying problems for a buyer who someday buys that model home? Since some communities don't have a model home, I could arbitrarily assign an address of one of the neighborhood homes to the GMB page, but this leads to the same question about creating a GMB page that will exist after the builder has sold all the houses in the community. Will it be weird to have the GMB referring to someone's private residence down the road? My assumption is that claiming a GMB page would help with local ranking if someone searches for something like "new homes" in addition to providing easy driving directions to someone who has done a bit of research and Googles the name of the new home community while out driving and searching for homes. These seem to be the main benefits, but are the challenges associated with questions 1-3 even worth the trouble of trying to claim listings for these communities?

Should I "no follow" some of my references to suppliers on my contact page?
We have a new website where we are selling a gate brace and the contact page has a number of links to possible suppliers. 3 of the 4 have our product locally. There are also 2 image links that go to trade shows we have been at. Should I "no follow" these links? Or is it not a big deal? Brad

Removing a page in GSC - anyone done this?
I've deleted a bunch of pages, but they're still indexed by Google and showing up 404s. All links to these pages have been removed. Because they're showing a 404, our web dev team are saying that they can't implement a noindex tag, so I came across this - https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals Anyone tried this? Or got a better idea? We've also added all the pages to robots.txt but they still haven't been de-indexed. Cheers, Rhys

Why would a website link disappear from a Google Place listing?
Hi, a local non-profit recently re-branded their name from MacDonald Center to Maybelle Center. When they updated their business information their website link disappeared. They've updated from within and dashboard to no avail. We've requested edits/updates via Google Map maker but it says Denied. Here's a URL for the SERP result. Note the button for "website" would normally appear by the button for "directions" https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=maybelle center portland&oq=maybelle center portland&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i59j69i61.4316j0j7 Can someone please explain why this is happening and how we can fix it? They are a great community organization who's about to receive some media coverage and we'd really appreciate it if users hearing about the group be able to easily access their new website. They are aware of their duplicate listings but, typical of non-profits, have limited time and funds so are prioritizing to address more urgent issues first. However, I don't believe duplicate listings would cause such an issue but please let me know if I'm wrong here

Yext Listings: Why don't I see new inbound links?
The company I work for recently switched over to Yext to manage the local listings for our 275+ locations. Our listings have now been live with Yext for over 3 weeks and I'm wondering A. when should I expect to see new inbound links from these yext listings? and B. In what ways can I expedite the process? I've already re-crawled our site, but is there anything else I can do? This is my first experience with Yext so any thoughts or suggests about how to get the most out of the product would also be appreciated. Thanks,

Can we place a FB business page link instead of direct domain link in a Google My Business listing?
A client of ours asked if we could place link to their local Facebook page instead of a link to the direct domain in their Google My Business listing. Will Google allow this?

Creating a new Google local business page vs. adding additional locations to an existing Google business page?
We are a service company that both travels to customer locations and serves customers at our business location. The split is about 80/20 (travel vs. serve customers on location). We just opened up a new office in a city about 1 hour away from our main location. The question is, should we create a new business page and account on Google local or should we add the new location to our existing google local account? The new location has a separate website, phone number, email etc. My inclination is to create a new local business account/page on Google. Has anyone experimented with both solutions and tested which option creates more powerful local signals for ranking?

Unable to verify my google local listing page by phone verification.
Hi, I have created the Google local listing page for my business site. I want to verify it using the phone verification but there is only a option - "verify by postcard". Is there no option to verify it using a phone number? Help needed.
