BOTW is (or was) one of the better directories to submit to, but it definitely won't make or break your SEO efforts.
Although a link is a link (and links are good right?), I would save your money and develop more content for your website.

To answer your question, YES, it has high trust and high authority so a link from that site would definitely help in terms of SEO.

One quick suggestion - really try not to link build with SEO value on your mind. Of course you want good links and to not get dinged, but if you're basing good links on solely the SEO value they are providing (which I am not saying you are), you're heading down a bad path if you start out on that foot.
All in all - the best way to link build is to ask the following questions:
- Does this link help my website?
- Is this link relevant to my website?
- Would I trust this site (that's linking to me) if I landed on it?
- Is the website or content in which I am being linked from topically relevant to my website?
- If you check metrics - does anything about the metrics (domain authority, page authority,Majestic, SEMRush traffic/ranking data, etc) make me feel uneasy?
That being said - Best of the Web is a good link, I have never had issues with it or heard of others having issues with that link. If you find value in it for your website, then go for it! Here is a quick glance at the metrics for OSE.

What is the best way to remove a link that redirects to a spammy site?
I've got a new client and I'm trying to clean up their backlinks. There are several links that all redirect to this spam site http://www.expert-lender.com. All of the websites appear to be real, i.e. http://www.sammorganhomes.com/ but the actual links i.e http://www.sammorganhomes.com/wp-fav/backup/supplement/semitruckleasing.html are in a sub-directory and redirect to the spam site. I don't know if these links were from the previous SEO company or if they paid someone to create these or if these sites have been hacked. Link Directories - Good or bad?
I've just done a search on open site explorer for a competitors site that has is ranked number one. Most of their highest authority backlinks are from link directories. I just read an article on here saying to stay away from directories that state things like 'seo friendly directory'. Many of my competitors links are from these kind of sites! Will it harm me to get links from such sites? It seems to be working for my competitors.... confused.com!
