Vanity URL for Google+ page
-
Hello there,
Our company has a Google + business page: https://plus.google.com/u/0/107077834998367309370/about
We are trying to change the URL to something more friendly such as https://plus.google.com/wallpapered (Wallpapered being the name of our company)
Can you please advise if we have set something up incorrectly?
Thanks

Hey there!
From what I can see, everything looks like it's set up correctly. Here are the instructions to create a G+ custom URL for a business. Let me know if you're still running into any troubles!

We have 196 followers and set up this page over a year ago. We have had 197,883 views to date. We also have a profile photo and have been quite active updating content.

Hello,
You will just need to have a profile photo, at least 10 followers and an account that is at least 1 month old. Then Google will send you an email to confirm that you’ve got a custom URL for your Google Plus profile. You will also see a notification when you log in to your account.
In most cases, you will have to accept the URL they offer, however, some established accounts will have to option to request a different one.
Notice that you won’t be able to change your username once you set it. You only can change its format by going to Profile -> About -> Links and choose Edit, then you will see the option like below.
Hope this helps!

Is it possible to modify the default social sources in Google Analytics?
In the newest Google Analytics there's a section called 'Social' which tracks traffic from FB, Twitter and other social sites. For some reason it doesn't include Instagram (which is the one that matters to me, though I'm sure there are many others that it doesn't include either.) Is there a way to modify that and add Instagram as a social source?

Content Marketing - what to post on their facebook page
Hello, I'm doing content marketing for an article that is helpful in our industry. When I'm building a relationship with a website, on Facebook I first like their page. Then, I'm liking and sharing a couple of recent posts that stand out and are related to our site. Should I read their recent blog posts and comment on their facebook page thanking them that what I read was helpful while posting a link to their blog post? Or should I post something else on their facebook page? Or should I not post on someone else's facebook page? Thanks.

How do search engines understand what social pages are official pages of my brand? If my Facebook page name is not my brand name (even though there are links from website to page and vice-versa) will that confuse search engines?
My question is about social shares, and how search engines understand what profiles are linked to what businesses?

Guide on how to transition you Google places listing to Google plus Places
I was wondering if anyone had a guide on how to transition your existing Google Places listing to the Google Plus local. I have a Google plus places listing for my business already and don't want to loose my reviews on my Google Local listing.

Do keywords in a URL that's linkified provide anchor text benefits?
I'm curious about links that are just URLs (e.g. http://www.google.com/reader) or in a URL-like format (e.g. Google.com/Reader) vs links with plain-word anchor text (e.g. Google Reader). If a link that is just a URL (or a partial URL) has keywords in it, do those keywords provide anchor text relevance benefits? I'm particularly thinking about URL shorteners that provide customized links, and social media. Many web tools (twitter, blog comment systems) don't render HTML but will automatically link URLs. If http://boston.craigslist.org/jjj/ gets linked to through custom shortened URLs like http://bit.ly/Boston-Jobs, is it more likely to rank for the term "Boston Jobs" than if it received the same number of links using a non-custom shortened URL like http://bit.ly/ejq5uX9?

Google Plus 1 button appearance
Has anyone had issues with the creative control google is maintaining with the Plus 1 button. I have a client who is very strict on their design structure and wants to make the google button appear in style with their theme. Has anyone encountered this or knows a moderately easy solution besides hacking away? THanks!
