No english Url = No sense symbols?
-
Hey there,
i have a greek content website and some of the urls are greek (I did this for better SEO score).
When i am using the analyze page issues and write down the greek url it doesnt find it (for example if i wrote down "www.euroulakia.com/πως-να-βγαλω-λεφτα" it displays me back "Sorry! We weren't able to find that page when we crawled your site")BUT when i just copy paste it from the url the moz finds it. However when i copy-paste the url changes the greek characters to no-sense symbols (for example the same above url becomes : http://www.euroulakia.com/πως-να-βγαλω-λεφτα)
As you can see the url is written with non-sense symbols..
My question is if google see this no-sense symbol as well instead of the greek characters?
I am using Joomla and i have:
Search Engine Friendly URLs and Unicode Aliases setting to yes.
Can anyone please help me with this because i have a feeling that something is wrong here.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Nothing is wrong. The non-ASCII url is translated to ASCII - the non-sense symbols you see are the translated symbols (you could test that yourself here:http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp.
As Moz works with the "translated" version - it will not find the original version - but it will find the ASCII version. Google is perfectly able to handle these "international url's"
That said, Moz is not really best in class for foreign languages with a lot of symbols and accents - these foreign characters render the page grade report virually useless (see also this quesion: http://moz.com/community/q/foreign-language-character-sets-in-page-grade-reports
rgds,
Dirk

Recovering rankings after a botched url change
Hi there, I have for a long time had a bicycle maintenance website at madegood.org. Over the years the film branch of this business has taken off and moved in a slightly different direction, so I thought in March I decided to move madegood.org to madegoobikes.com, and create a new website for my film business at madegood.com. I thought I did a good job of telling google about my change of domain, but my rankings completely died, so about a month I moved madegoodbikes.com back to madegood.org. So far I haven't seen any sign of a recovery in my rankings, I'm getting almost no visits. I've check all my top pages on OSE and everything seems to be in place. https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/pages?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.madegood.org%2F&no_redirects=0&sort=page_authority&filter=all&page=1 Is it normal to wait over a month for my rankings to recover, or is there anything else I should be doing? Any tips/ideas/advice whatsoever will of huge help!

Missing Meta Description in Pop Up Image Gallery URL
Hi there, Moz has reported that I have a lot of missing meta description in the Pop Up Image Gallery. There are over 150 of these that are missing. The issue is that in our CMS I cannot add meta description to images. I am also not entirely sure why the images I am loading up are generating their own URL like the one below. Possibly that is why Moz is saying it needs a meta description when it is only an image?. An example of the link that has missing meta description that I can't add would be something like this: http://www.domianhere.com/products/PopUpImageGallery/93/1?iframe=true When clicking these links it is purely an image with no text. So basically I am asking how do you add a meta description to a Pop Up image Gallery photo URL and/or possibly why would an image create a custom URL so I have to put in a Meta Description? Hopefully that makes sense, thank you in advance for your help - much appreciated!

Blog Page URLs Showing Duplicate Content
On the SEOMoz Crawl Diagnostics, we are receiving information that we have duplicate page content for the URL Blog pages. For Example: blog/page/33/ blog/page/34/ blog/page/35/ blog/page/36/ These are older post in our blog. Moz is saying that these are duplicate content. What is the best way to fix the URL structure of the pages?

Order of urls in SEOMoz crawl report
Is there any rhyme or reason to the order of urls in the SEOMoz crawl report, or are the urls just listed in random order?

Configure parameter effect in google wmt to reduce overly dynamic urls
We are looking at a weatherforecast site with realtime information that is updated every 5 minutes. For this website many urls have 6 parameters The SEOmoz campagne found duplicate information and overly dynamic urls. Then we went to google wmt section url parameters and configured parameters like day, month, year (effect: none). The next weekly SEOmoz campagne showed a big reduction in duplicates and small reduction overly dynamic urls. How can we reduce these 'errors' further?

URLs getting re-directed to double http:// URLs
The "Notices" section under "Crawl Diagnostics" shows that there are 435 issues on my website. I checked out a few URLs to verify this issue and found that most of these pages are working perfectly. For instance, the above mentioned report shows that http://policycomplaints.com/about redirects to http://http://policycomplaints.com/about/ . Then, http://policycomplaints.com/aegon-religare/mis-selling-of-policy-by-aegon-religare/ redirects to http://http://policycomplaints.com/aegon-religare/mis-selling-of-policy-by-aegon-religare/ . However, when I open these pages, they seem to be working perfectly. I didn't find them getting re-directed to somewhere else. So, as per the report, it seems that all of these 435 http://URLs are getting re-directed to http://http://URL versions which in reality is not true because all the http://URLs are working perfectly. So, is this a problem with SEOmoz software? If not, what is the reason for these issues and how can I adddress them. Do notify if any further information is required for the same. Thanks. bNiEm.png

Dynamic URL pages in Crawl Diagnostics
The crawl diagnostic has found errors for pages that do not exist within the site. These pages do not appear in the SERPs and are seemingly dynamic URL pages. Most of the URLs that appear are formatted http://mysite.com/keyword,%20_keyword_,%20key_word_/ which appear as dynamic URLs for potential search phrases within the site. The other popular variety among these pages have a URL format of http://mysite.com/tag/keyword/filename.xml?sort=filter which are only generated by a filter utility on the site. These pages comprise about 90% of 401 errors, duplicate page content/title, overly-dynamic URL, missing meta decription tag, etc. Many of the same pages appear for multiple errors/warnings/notices categories. So, why are these pages being received into the crawl test? and how to I stop it to gauge for a better analysis of my site via SEOmoz?
