Author Bio
-
Hi
In my quest to develop a strategy to enhance "brand exposure" I'm considering guest blogging on sites with very good authority. However my question is;
1. Can I post my article and place my "author bio" (which includes my company linked name and social platforms) at the bottom of an article?
2. Should author bios links be no follow?
3. Or, does Google allow page rank to pass for this.
We have some fantastic articles that are based on projects we've carried out, and would like to share these with readers on Dezeen, Contemporist and the rest of the interior design world.
Your help is always very much appreciated!
Regards
Gary

Thanks again Patrick.
I thought this was a good summing up by Neil Patel.

Hi there
1. That's fine.
2. Ask yourself this - is the link from a relevant site and potentially sending targeted traffic that will benefit from the content on your site? If no, then you shouldn't a. want the link and b. you wouldn't want that nofollowed. In my opinion (and based on Google advice) I would nofollow this link. Reason being, you're not doing this for linkbuilding purposes, you're doing this because you are trying to reach a targeted audience group.
3. Nofollow links do not pass ranking value, but they do provide value if they are relevant to your site and pass along a targeted audience that will find value in your site.
I would also note that you should repurpose content for the sites you are writing for. Different sites have different audiences, so you should make sure that your content "speaks" to them and is not just a carbon copy of content on your site. If that's the case and you are just copying content, use canonical tags. Another thing I like to do, is at the bottom post "This post was originally written for _____.com", again nofollowed.
Hope this all helps - good luck!

paid guest posts or purchasing backlink from Authority website is Black Hat SEO or safe?
Hi dear MOZ community members, I am a new blogger. I need some suggestions while link building for the blog: duplicate bills. If I buy backlinks from authority websites through guest posts then is this safe for my website or is it black hat SEO and could lead to penalization by Google? Kindly guide me.

Link juice - What could be the reason for our bad internal page Page Authority
So OK we have a domain authority currently of 41, we are well established but unfortunately we don't have any pages with PA. I have a fair idea of why this is the case but want to get some other opinions before I form my strategy. 1.It appears our internal link structure is not great and is not very organised 2. It appears we have 58 links going externally on some pages. Some of these external links are social media icons in the footer which are followed. Is there any other factors I should be aware of when building PA on some of my inner pages. Any Thoughts would be appreciated.

Why is my domain authority 1?
Hello all, I have my own MMA news website which I started almost two years ago. After getting a Seomoz account I noticed that my domain authority for this website (www.mmaplanet.nl) is 1! All my other websites have 'normal' domain authority. Does someone know what might be the problem here? Thanks in advance!

What do you consider a low authority link directory
Dear All, I would like to weed out the low authority link directories that harm my site. Can someone explain me how you determine a low authority link directory? Do you look at "page auth." and "domain auth"? And do you consider all the links pointing to your site with a "page auth." and "domain auth" lower then - let's say 40 - as a low authority link directory? Thank you for your answers in advance! Regards, Thomas

Why are good authority links to my site not showing?
Hi, about a month ago, I obtained a couple of good authority external links into my client's site. One of these is from a local government site, ie a .gov.uk website, which has a Domain Authority of 99 according to OSE and a page authority of 67. However, these links are not showing up in SEOmoz or OSE and the domain authority of my client's site has not changed. Why do the links not show? Surely a period of 5 weeks is long enough for these links to be indexed?

Forums to increase the Link Authority
I have a small question. What do you think if we use the Forums on a natural way, to place important post with a link to our website on that, it's a good source or not, to use like a piece of link building strategy, to increase the authority of domains, and hiring backlinks from more than 15 types of websites, like blogs,forums,press,guestposts,directories,etc...??? Write your idea here if you have experience on that.
