Hi,
I'm a newb and I'm trying to wrap my head around how this keyword thing works. Let's say I find these KWs as part of my research:
- Acupuncture
- Acupuncture Clinics
- Acupuncture Clinics in Gainesville
- Acupuncture Clinics in Gainesville Florida
Does optimizing for Acupuncture Clinics in Gainesville Florida optimize me for all the other terms as well? And furthermore, might I appear for searches like these too:
- Acupuncture Florida
- Acupuncture Gainesviile
- Acupuncture clinics Fl
Thanks a bunch!

Hello,
On top of just keywords I would highly recommend Moz Local.
If you use them you won't need to worry about location keywords. People will find you there.
Thanks,

Hey,
Thanks for posting your question. Yes if you optimize for "Acupuncture Clinics in Gainesville Florida", it will get you the traction on related searches that you mentioned but not very much on the keywords like "Acupuncture" & "Acupuncture Clinics".
The thing is, if you're targeting "Acupuncture Clinics in Gainesville Florida" kind of keywords, you will be going to adopt local SEO and your content/page optimization and link building will be totally based for that. Plus, the competition level will be totally different on generic keywords.
Hope this helps!

How many keywords do you recommend tracking?
I am working through thousands of organic keywords and would like to create a list of core keywords. I want the list to be small enough that we can really go after these keywords and track progress. I work for a B2B software company. I am thinking between 20-30 but I would love to hear any tips, opinions and recommendations! Thank you!

Keyword Plan Of Attack
We have looked up our direct competitor to see what keywords they rank #1 for (aside from their own company name). We have narrowed it down to 3 that we want to focus on. Our plan is to build internal landing pages, external landing pages and beef up our content. Is that a good strategy to start or are we missing something?

What keywords does the competition have?
I know this might be a long shot. I've been working on my google rankings and am first for a few keywords but still seeing quite low traffic. Is there a tool that allows me to see what keywords my competition is receiving high levels of traffic from? Thanks Dan

Why will my site not rank for this keyword?
My site http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/ performs quite well for most of my keywords and gets ok traffic. But for "electric radiators" it just isn't ranking? I was thinking about redoing the landing page for it? Can anyone offer some insight as to what else I could do? Here is the current electric radiators page http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/index.php/electric-radiators-2/ Thanks, Laura

Site Wide Keyword Extractor
I need a tool or a method that will let me know what a search engine thinks the overall theme of the site is about. Sort of like the keyword extractor, but on a site-wide basis. Does anyone have any sugestions?

How do you optimize for compound keywords
What is the best way to handle keywords like "switchplate covers"? The key word may be seen as either a 2 or 3 word phrase, depending how you handle the compound term: "switch plate" or "switchplate" In google KW it shows different results for switch plate vs switchplate as well as using cover vs covers. I've tried using all the variations in my descriptions, titles and H2s but I think this is diluting them all. Can anyone show me best practice guidelenes or examples of good solutions to these kinds of compound key words? Thanks Handcrafter

Top Ranking sites for specific keywords
Is there a way to put in a list of targeted keywords and see what the top 5 sites on Google are? There are several competitor tools in SEOmoz but I can't find anything that would allow you to do that. I have a list of 40 or so keywords that I would like to check what sites are in the top 3 positions on Google for each of the keywords. Thanks in advance
