Why will my site not rank for this keyword?
-
My site http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/ performs quite well for most of my keywords and gets ok traffic.
But for "electric radiators" it just isn't ranking? I was thinking about redoing the landing page for it?
Can anyone offer some insight as to what else I could do?
Here is the current electric radiators page
http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/index.php/electric-radiators-2/
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura
When I checked (and I've just checked again), the real time results show that the title tag is showing the company name. If you, or another person have made these changes, they haven't been saved and effected the change.
I've attached a screenshot of keyword analysis for that page - only showing critical and high factors. You can see that it references the Title Tag in two areas as being unticked.
The number 2 in your url will be fine and shouldn't cause you any issues at all. As a starting point, your title tag and your images titles and alt tags should resolve it. You can then work at marketing that page etc.
I would really recommend the moz toolbar, I don;t think I could live without it to be honest! When you know what you are looking for, it tells you exactly what you need to know in an instant.

Thanks Jo - I've done most of those as well as increased keyword density.
I didn't create the site originally but I noticed that the link that is indexed in Google is this one http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/index.php/electric-radiators/
Where the one that should be coming up is http://www.electric-heatingcompany.co.uk/index.php/electric-radiators-2/
Is it the 2 in the URL that is affecting the site position? If I change the permalinks I'll have to set up redirects? would that be better? I don't have access to Ht access at this point also.

Hi Jo do you know of any faster ways for getting quality back links?
-
Hi Laura
I just took a quick look at the page and did some analysis with the SeoMoz toolbar - you can download that as a chrome extension and its brilliant for a quick healthcheck on your individual pages.
The first thing I noticed was that you have the Title tag <title>as your business name - The Electric Heating company. I would start with immediately changing that to Include your keyword at the beginning.</p> <p style="color: #5e5e5e; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;">I only checked a few of your pages, but all were named with your business. A classic no-no as Google definitely uses the title tag to find out what your page(s) are about.</p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">Another thing, you have a couple of images on there named radiator3 and radiator4...consider renaming those images and adding alt tags to include 'electric radiators for conservatories and EHC Electric Radiators.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">I also noticed you have a wordpress site. I'd really recommending adding the Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin. That trains you how to optimise your pages and I have had great success with that.</span></p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">Hope that helps - that will definitely help you get ranked for the term. </span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">Thanks</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: #5e5e5e;">Jo</span></p></title>

Webmaster Rankings vs. Moz Rankings
Hello all. For quite some time, both Moz & Ahrefs have indicated to me that I am in first position for several keywords. However, when I go into my Google Webmaster Tools, it says that I am in 7th or 8th position. Any idea why there is such a discrepancy?

Keyword ranking stuck in neutral... Suggestions needed
Hi everyone. I wanted to make a post in hopes of getting some opinions on my next course of action when it comes to SEO. I have worked for my current company for 3 years and raised their keyword ranking from 39% to 55% (according to MOZ's keyword tracker). I did this mostly through improving on-page SEO for each keyword. I think the on-page SEO is as good as it can get? Just so you guys know there are 101 keywords they want to rank for nationally. We currently rank for 56. My current company has really starting to ask me more about the percentage we are at and they of course want it to grow (or show consistent growth) as time passes. Since May 2014 it seems to have fluctuated each week from 50% to 58%. Some other info: We are well known in our industry We post on social media almost every day We are at event trade shows We are a global company We have tons of ads in industry magazines etc. We have industry news sites write about us and link to us We are consistent with press releases (a few a month) With that being said, where should I go from here to get those number to grow? As I mentioned, my company is starting to look at these numbers more.

Is the Adwords keywords planner accurate ?
Hey guyz,
Keyword Research | | atakala
As you guyz do, I base all my seo effort into the keywords' traffic and quality which I can get from Adwords Keywords Planner.
But this post has confused my mind .
It' says the average searches doesn't exactly the average searches.
And everything is okay here now I can say that of course it's not %100 accurate.
But the shocking part is he gives an example of how a big gap there is between real searches number and adwords keywords planner tools give us . What do you think guyz?
Can it be true ?
(And also last time I asked a question, Randy has replied me, If possible please Randy do it again :D.)

Branded vs Generic keywords - is Google treating their rank equaly!?
Several times I have noticed that website receiving sort of a rankings drop penalty for certain wrongly built on-page strategies that involves keyword stuffing, wrong keyword density(too much) etc. The question is - how you guys think - is branded keywords receiving the same treatment from Google then generic ones? And here is why - for one popular brand I see that they ranking for their brand keyword very high(1th) but keyword density is awful - more then 10%. So, my guess is - if this keyword density you would apply for generic keyword you will end up nowhere to be found for it! Is that could be truth? Any experiments info about that? thanks and regards, Jungles

No idea where to start with keywords
I have a friend who owns an IT business in Pennsylvania. I have been on the adwords tool begging for keywords that people are searching for and I am getting no search results at all. I have tried all types of combinations- IT consultant Pennsylvania IT consultant PA network solutions pennsylvania computer tech pennsylvania ...and many variations thereof. Does this mean that maybe just no one looks for this type of business on google? What would you guys do in this situation? Thanks!

Long Tail Keyword Research
Hi, I have read lots of articles on long tail keyword research and all of it seems to apply to models and makes, i.e. "Canon power shot digital _camera _2MP" However, I work in the interior design industry, which doesn't have models and makes, if you see what I mean. Does anyone have any advice on how to do long tail keyword research for this sector or similar? Thanks for your help. Mik

Keyword research is tough isn’t it ?
I am only just realising that the Google Keyword Tool I use is aimed at Adwords customers and where competition is stated as low, they mean competition for adverts. When I have a ridiculously low amount of links and an equally low Domain Authority finding keywords is not easy. I presume there is some correlation between the SEOMOZ Keyword Difficulty score and the amount of Adwords traffic, but even very low Adwords Traffic Search Terms still seem to be moderately competitive. I guess its a case of plugging away with the Keyword Difficulty tool.
