.com site referral traffic to ccTLDs
-
We have 7 international domains set up along with our main .com site. All of the ccTLds are showing their main referral traffic as coming from the .com site in GA, and most of those being from mobile. Each site is set up correctly with geo-targeting and hreflang tags. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi there Jarred,
The first thing I would do is set up Google Search Console accounts for each of the ccTLDs you have to see if Google is sending all traffic to your .com or if this is just a Google Analytics tracking problem.
The second thing I would do is crawl the international sites with Screaming Frog. It's possible that you copied over the pages between ccTLDs and kept internal links to the .com version on other ccTLD sites.
Last, I'd check which pages are typically the referral source in GA. Then we can troubleshoot from there.
Hope this helps! I realize we've taken a bit to get back to you, so let us know if you fixed the problem on your own in the mean time. We're interested to hear how it worked out.
Thanks!
Kristina

Are you using a unique GA Tracking ID per domain - It's the UA- number?

High bounce rates consistent with a login that takes you to a 3rd party site?
My firm has a credit union client whose bounce rates skyrocketed after implementing an online banking portal. Logging in to the online banking portal takes you to a 3rd party site. Would arriving at the site and immediately logging in be considered a bounce? And if so, would a high bounce rate actually correlate with a warm reception to their online banking tool?

Bing Webmaster Tools data discrepency on traffic
Hi, For a given time period in Bing Webmaster Tools it says that combined clicks from Bing and Yahoo organic search are about 4,700 total, for the same time period in Google Analytics, combining sessions for Bing and Yahoo Organic comes out to about 8,900 total. Has anyone else experienced this discrepancy? Is this common? How can I get 8900 visits from 4700 clicks?

SEOing a Site Before it is ready?
Hi Guys I have a site currently being built that is 45 days away. I am wondering whether it is possible to have a dummy website (with same domain name) in play and starting the SEO effort so that these 45 days are not wasted from an SEO point of view. Is this something you have seen done effectively, or is it a no no. Kind Regards, Justin

Google traffic plummeted on Sunday - what can I do?
On Sunday, my google traffic plummeted. I was getting 320 hits a day from Google on my best days - my site is just about to turn 3 months old so I was thrilled with that. On Sunday it was 110 and I think it is getting worse. Edit: Yep, yesterday was 65. Google Webmasters shows the drop today. One day, my impressions were 5,500 and the next just 1,000. Yikes. My traffic is so depressing now after so much hard work. Is this Google Panda? What can I do? I have no idea why this happened. I am getting several quality backlinks a week, sometimes a day.
