Crawl Diagnostics saids a page is linking but I can't find the link on the page.
-
Hi
I have just got my first Crawl Diagnostics report and I have a questions.
It saids that this page: http://goo.gl/8py9wj links to http://goo.gl/Uc7qKq which is a 404. I can't recognize the URL on the page which is a 404 and when searching in the code I can't find the %7Blink%7D in the URL which gives the problems.
I hope you can help me to understand what triggers it

It's probably possible to block these url's from indexing using a regular expression in your robots.txt - however keep in mind that if bots encounter these links users will encounter them as well which leads to a degraded user experience.
If I was in your situation I would try to solve the problem at the root - avoiding that these strange links are created in the first place.
rgds,
Dirk

Thank you Dirk! I will look closer to this.
But what would you do to make Google stop indexing these pages? Hope you can help
-
Hi,
Can't find the link on the page you give as an example - but on other pages you have in the source a link of type
<a <span="" class="html-attribute-name">href</a><a <span="" class="html-attribute-name">="{link}"></a><a <span="" class="html-attribute-name">href="http://www.....dk/video-virtuelt-cockpit-i-ny-audi-a4/"</a>
<a <span="" class="html-attribute-name">Sourcepage: www......dk/bilmaerker/chevrolet/page/2/
In the browser the {link} is encoded as %7Blink%7D
Hope this helps,
Dirk</a>

My historic ranking report won't download
I try to download a historic ranking report and it only comes up with "in progress". I left the window open all day, but no ranking report is generated or sent. How can we download this report? Many thanks, Pete

How can I remove on-page reports from the Summary page?
Hi, I'd like to remove some on-page reports from the Summary page. I've already stopped them from running weekly. Is there a way to remove them completely?

Why does Crawl Diagnostics report this as duplicate content?
Hi guys, we've been addressing a duplicate content problem on our site over the past few weeks. Lately, we've implemented rel canonical tags in various parts of our ecommerce store, over time, and observing the effects by both tracking changes in SEOMoz and Websmater tools. Although our duplicate content errors are definitely decreasing, I can't help but wonder why some URLs are still being flagged with duplicate content by our SEOmoz crawler. Here's an example, taken directly from our Crawl Diagnostics Report: URL with 4 Duplicate Content errors:
Moz Pro | | yacpro13
/safety-lights.html Duplicate content URLs:
/safety-lights.html ?cat=78&price=-100
/safety-lights.html?cat=78&dir=desc&order=position /safety-lights.html?cat=78 /safety-lights.html?manufacturer=514 What I don't understand, is all of the URLS with URL parameters have a rel canonical tag pointing to the 'real' URL
/safety-lights.html So why is SEOMoz crawler still flagging this as duplicate content?0 -
How effective is Crawl DIagnostics in determining crawlibility?
Is Seomoz crawl diagnostics useful for determining what pages Google has a hard time indexing. One of the problems with my site is that it uses JS and Flash and I know Google isnt too keen on that. Can Crawl Diagnostics accurately tell me if there is too much of something and therefore Google is having a hard time crawling? I want to be able to know if JS or Flash is hurting any of my pages in any way. I provide good content and I want to make sure Google can pick it up.....Is this too much to ask? Is there anything out there for this?

Can someone explain to me why OSE shows two different numbers for Linking Root Domains in the header and in the results area?
See Photo Below. 271 in the header, 500 plus in the results section. I just want an accurate number to chart my progress from here on out. Majestic numbers seem inflated too much. Google Webmaster Tools too. g58HX.png

Issue in number of pages crawled
i wanted to figure out how our friend Roger Bot works. On the first crawl of one of my large sites, the number of pages crawled stopped at 10000 (due to the restriction on the pro account). However after a few weeks, the number of pages crawled went down to about 5500. This number seemed to be a more accurate count of the pages on our site. Today, it seems that Roger Bot has completed another crawl and the number is up to 10000 again. I know there has been no downtime on our site, and the items that we fixed on our site did not reduce or increase the number of pages we had. Just making sure there are no known issues with Roger Bot before I look deeper into our site to see if there is an issue. Thanks!

How do I find the most linked to page of a site?
I'm looking at a site for a potential link and am trying to find the most linked to page. The SEOmoz toolbar tells me the root domain (DA) is linked to by 660 root domains but the main URL (PA) is linked to by 38 root domains. I used open site explorer and got the same # of 38 root domains in the result. From the Top Pages tab, I clicked on the 2nd page down and the SEOmoz toolbar gives me 189 root domains linking to that page (PA). Then I ran a Linkscape report to see what that would say and I get 146 linking root domains. 1. Is this 2nd page down on OSE the most linked to page? 2. a. Is something off in these numbers?

b. How come OSE/Linkscape doesn't report the 660 root domains in the DA?0
