Sorry but this has probably been discussed earlier, but things change all the time.
Gonna start blogging about my webside.
Where should I place my blog to get most SEO benefits for my main page?
mysite.xx/blog
blog.mysite.xx (on a server with diffrent ip)
An external TDL. -

Agreed with previous responses. domain.xx/blog is the way to go. It doesn't necessarily benefit your home page, but it is the least time-consuming to rank and only takes a small percentage of your "link juice" (the same as any other link coming off your home page.
Given blogs are dynamic content and therefore are less impactful than static content on a site, I would place it in a way you think your incoming traffic would find it most easily. This, again, is why we suggest a domain.xx/blog layout, as this allows your incoming traffic to locate it within 1 click.

You should place it like www.yoursite.com/blog .
The reason is if you place it on a sub-domain, search engine treats it an entirely different site. SO you have to build the sub-domain reputation through back-links. Which is time consuming and need a lot of hard work.

The first one, www.mysite.com/blog - is the way to go. Many articles on it, but in short maximizes backlink juice...

Is this good Blog SEO Exposure Practice?
When I create a new blog post for my site www.piolettilaw.com/blog in an effort to make sure it is seen by the most people the quickest I do the following: (1) link it to my google+ account https://plus.google.com/b/115145499443620475217/+PiolettiPiolettiAttorneysatLawEureka/posts (2) I then link it in virtually the same way on facebook (3) I ping it my blog directory piolettilaw.com/blog using ping-o-matic Is that a pretty good gameplan to follow when making new blog posts? Which is better for seo purposes? site/blog or site/community?
Hi Guys I was wondering if you could help on this one. Google Blogger Vs. Sub Domain Blog - Authority building.
We are looking into offering blogs for our customers on their current sites that we have built & host for them. My developers have given me 2 options. 1. Sub domain with a hosted blog. 2. A Google Blogger blog with our customers sub-domain pointed to it. In my opinion I feel that a blog hosted on the sub domain is a better option as it is more authority then a Google Blogger blog. What does everyone think? Having a blog hosted on the subdomain would help with authority building vs. a Google Blogger site? Thanks for any help!

Handling duplicate content in Blogs
Many wordpress themes like mine have a homepage where the last 3 to 4 posts are displayed on the frontpage. Each post also has its own url where the post are shown seperately. How do I avoid beeing seen as duplicate content by Google?

Blog SEO Strategy
The current SEO strategy for my company blog is to include a percentage of short tail keywords in each blog post, and not to link to the main site because they are concerned with diluting the blog. I would like to change the strategy and instead use the blog to promote long tail keywords by having each entry focus on around a different long tail keyword. I would also like to use the short-tail keywords for internal linking to strengthen our important pages with keyword rich anchor text (no more than 1 link per 100 words). I would love the advice of the SEOMoz community about which strategy is more effective (or if there is something else entirely we should be doing). Thanks!

Old articles in a blog
Hi, I would like to know your opinion about old article obsolete in a blog. Do you think it's preferable to totally delete them from Wordpress CMS?
