Duplicate Title Tag
-
We are getting a Duplicate Title Tag error on our pages but we have different titles and the differences are being seen by Google. We are using the code <%@ Page Title="School Lunch Software Pricing || EZ School Apps"%> Any ideas?
-
*now fixed
-
Thanks for the help with this. A code change was done recently that impacted the page title. The issue is not fixed and the next crawl should work correctly.
-
No, that shouldn't be an issue. I ran the crawl with a different tool (Microsoft IIS SEO Toolkit) and found the same duplicate title issues.
If you check your HTML output, you will see that the title only includes the "EZ School Apps" part. I Private Messaged you a list of the duplicate titles I found.
Is it possible that code is no longer in production? or the Page title variable is accidentally set again before being printed?
-
We are using an ASP.net directive to dynamically create the Title. Google is picking this up on their crawler and this was not flagged as an issue in the past with Moz. Is it possible that the moz crawler scan for dynamic title pages is no longer working?
-
Are you using any javascript framework on the site that renders the title dynamically?

Can Title Tag be seen in the page source, but not seen by search engines?
This is a follow up question derived from a previous question I posted - http://moz.com/community/q/does-title-tag-location-in-a-page-s-source-code-matter There have been several reputable crawl tools used on our (including Moz) site that state we are missing title tags on may pages. One such page is http://www.paintball-online.com/Paintball-Guns-And-Markers-0Y.aspx I can see the title tag on line 238 of the page source. I find it unlikely that there is an issue with the crawl tools. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Nick

Duplicate Page Title for a Large Listing Website
My company has a popular website that has over 4,000 crawl errors showing in Moz, most of them coming up as Duplicate Page Title. These duplicate page titles are coming from pages with the title being the keyword, then location, such as: "main keyword" North Carolina

"main keyword" Texas ... and so forth. These pages are ranked and get a lot of traffic. I was wondering what the best solution is for resolving these types of crawl errors without it effecting our rankings. Thanks!0 -
After I 301 redirect duplicate pages to my rel=canonical page, do I need to add any tags or code to the non canonical pages?
I have many duplicate pages. Some pages have 2-3 duplicates. Most of which have Uppercase and Lowercase paths (generated by Microsoft IIS). Does this implementation of 301 and rel=canonical suffice? Or is there more I could do to optimize the passing of duplicate page link juice to the canonical. THANK YOU!

Duplicate Page Title for multilingual wordpress site
Hello all, I have received my first crawl reports and I find a lot of errors of duplicate page title. In the wordpress site I use the qtranslate plugin in order to have the site in 2 languages. I also use the Yoast SEO plugin in order to put titles, description and keywords to each web page. By looking deeply in the duplicate page title errors I think I found that the problem is that every web page takes the same SEO Title for each language. But I am not 100% sure. I tried to use some shortcodes of the qtranslate plugin like the following ABOUT [:en]About in order to indicate and give different titles per language for one web page but that doesn't seem to work. Does anybody here has experienced the same problem as me? Do you have any suggestions about how to ressolve the problem of the duplicate page title? I can give you the URL of the website if you need it to have a look. Thank you in advanced for your help. I really appreciate that. Regards, Lenia

SEO Mox reporting all pages & titles as duplicate, but this is not the case.
HI, I am confused . This week SEOMoz is reporting that all my pages and pages titles are duplicate. This is not the case. I have added geo meta tags to each page - could this be causing the duplicate page content condition? I have no theory about the title duplicate condition. I have uploaded pdfs of these seomoz reports here: http://www.2shared.com/document/JAgS2Ni9/Issue_-Duplicate_Page_Content.html http://www.2shared.com/document/gyXcMsoP/Issue-Duplicate_Page_Title-.html Help please. thanks.

Duplicate Page Titles and Content
I have a site that has a lot of contact modules. So basically each section/page has a contact person and when you click the contact button it brings up a new window with form to submit and then ends with a thank you page. All of the contact and thank you pages are showing up as duplicate page titles and content. Is this something that needs to be fixed even if I am not using them to target keywords?

Optimum title and description meta tag length
Hi all, I have read that a title tag and description tag length of 69 and 156 characters respectively, should be used as this is all that Google will show in the search results, but that search engine robots will read longer titles and descriptions and additional characters will have an effect on ranking algorithms. However, is there any SEO benefit in making title and description tags longer to include more keywords to aid ranking, even though the latter part won't be visible in the results. I have read elsewhere on this forum that there may be concerns with regards to keyword dilution, but what about keyword reinforcement, i.e. by a repetition of the main keyword at the end of the title/description (I mean in a readable manner here, not 'stuffed')? Thanks in advance, Gareth
