Can I add multiple listings for my business for the different services I provide?
-
Hi there everyone. I'm a Moz Local user and I have a quick question.
I'm a music teacher. Can I add multiple listings for my business for the different services I provide? For example - Saxophone lessons, Piano lessons etc...?
That way I would have different listing profiles for each instrument - all pointing to a different landing page on my website? Or is this considered to be bad practice?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Jack!
Thanks for asking a good question. Local listings are all about physical location - not about services or instruments. Google's guidelines (https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en) do a good job of describing this. So, your local listings represent your physical location and not the variety of services you offer. Because Moz Local relies on Google and Facebook for valid data, we'll want to find just one listing per location you operate from for the business on these platforms. You can, however, use the business description field to talk about your services, the instruments you teach, etc. Hope this helps!

Thanks Benjamin. I assume so too
Just trying to know for certain, to make sure I'm not missing out on an opportunity/way of presenting my business in the best possible way.
Still be good if anyone has a strong line on this to hear...

I'm sorry i cant be a great help here, but something tells me Google prefers just a clean slate singular listing. I probably would not recommend it though as i could imagine it would create some sort of confusion and congestion.
I hope you can find a more detailed answer to your question.

Hi all, we recently started to claim Apple Maps listings on behalf of our agency's clients, is it possible to transfer ownership of an Apple Maps listing from one Apple ID account to another Apple ID account?
We'd like to claim and complete our clients' Apple Maps listings with our agency Apple ID, then once we're finished completing and verifying each listing, transfer to the client's Apple ID. Is it possible to transfer ownership of an Apple Maps listing from one Apple ID to another? Thanks

What do I need to do for SEO when moving a business out of state?
Hello! So I have a business that I run out of a single location for the last 3 years. I am unfortunately having to move here in the next few weeks My question is what do I need to do in order to have the best chance at SEO for the new location? When should I make the changes? Does it take a long time for me to stop showing up in the previous location? and is there something I need to do to remove those? Also, is there an app or a website where I can find and update all listings at once or at least a bulk of them? I know that there are some weird sites that have my business info in them that I did not put there. Obviously these would have the wrong address. Some do not have a contact info or a way for me to log into them. What would I do with these sites? Thank you!

Google Business Listing Verification for Unmarked Facilities
We have been trying for over a year to get Google My Business listing verification on our facilities, which are separate from our company HQ. We have 31 facilities around the world that do not have business signs on them. We have tried sending postcards and are told that no one is receiving them. The folks who receive the mail are guards and it's tricky to ensure they field them. This has been an ongoing challenge as Google says that the alternate method requires a business sign located next to the building number, which we don't have. What do you recommend we do to get listed in GMB?

Google Local Listing Visibility for Regional Queries
I manage a variety of small local programs that are located in areas that are more known by the region than they are by the town (the Adirondacks and the Catskills to be specific). In the past, the local algorithm understood that when the query was related to the region, it would show a variety of results from that region. It seems that for the Catskills they have changed the algorithm to pinpoint the center of the region and only show results that are in the near vacinity of that pinpoint, rather than a variety of results from the region. The Adirondacks however is still showing a variety of results. For those of you not familiar, the Adirondack are 9,375 square miles and the Catskills are 5,892 square miles and are both very rural mountain regions and popular travel destinations. Google clearly understands that these regions are geographically oriented and shows a local pack for relevant results such as "Catskills Resorts" or "Catskills Restaurants", but over the past few weeks, they have started only showing 2 results for the query Catskills resorts, both located near Shandaken, NY becasue that is where Google has deemed the marker for the Catskills is (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Catskill+Mountains/@42.009289,-74.3996212,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89dc665668f82f31:0x3b012376423b8efa!8m2!3d42.0092908!4d-74.3821116) In reality, there are hundreds of resorts within the Catskills. (Note there is a Catskill, NY within the Catskills, however Google is not even confusing this town with the region). Does anyone have ideas on how to get Google to understand that the Catskills are more than Shandaken, NY? I feel like we suddenly have no hope of ranking locally and most of the businesses I manage are located in very small towns that people are not specifically searching for.

How to add a branch location to Google+ Page
I have a verified local Google+ Page all set up for my local business and linked to my website.. it shows up nicely in local results for my city. Being ambitious I am expanding my presence into another city and would like my website to start showing up in local search for that area as well. What is the protocol for best results ? Start a new Google+ page or somehow add the branch onto the existing page (although there does not seem to be anywhere for this as the page is a local business and seems to lock it in with only a single address)..

Different Search Results Depending On Location
Hello all, I was talking to a client earlier this week and they were telling me that they were not ranking fora desired keyword term. When I, however, ran a Google search for the keyword term in question, the client's website was showing a ranking on my end. We are both located in California. I'm in Southern California and they're in Northern California, but I don't think that should make a significant difference should it? Anyway, I've never run into such a quandary before and am curious to know if any of you out there can help me better understand why we're receiving different search results. Any and all insights are welcomed and appreciated.

How can I add another Google Places listing to my existing business?
Hey there, Does anyone know how I can add another Google Places listing to the following account? The company now has two stores so I'd like to get both listed. https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/107389046695957843430/+FinsahomeCoUk/posts I've tried using https://www.google.com/local/manage but that only appears to let you add a minimum of 10 locations?
