Could I optimize my homepage anymore ?
-
Hi everyone,
My website is http://brownquarterhorse.com I was wondering if it would be possible to optimize my homepage anymore. I just feel like it's lacking SEO. The page grader has rated it an 'A', but im not sure if the page grader is a good reflection ?

Tons of great answers in here!
I also recommend checking out Rand's latest blog post, which addresses this questions of "so my site's optimized, what do I do now?"

Hi there.
Also look at optimizing loading times. It tells me about 4 seconds with no throttling to onload event and more than 14 seconds(!) till full page load. I assume that on mobile devices that time will be at least double. No bueno for users.

Hi
There are three key parts to it generally. This is very general so ask for detail on any part. The first is technical seo, making sure your site can be found by search engines like google. Ria has mentioned that. To that end the below technical site audit guide from moz is a gem. Lets you tick off where you are at. A website checklist! Two items I would immediately look at are "mobile optimization" & "home page loading speed".
https://moz.com/blog/technical-site-audit-for-2015
The second and third parts flow together in some ways - backlinks and content creation. There is a lot of information out there about content so you will find plenty of info. On backlinks - another great link. https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo/growing-popularity-and-links
If you feel comfortable with your site after reading both links, you have all covered - you are well on your way to optimizing your ranking.
Hope that assists. Ask away for any clarification.

Hi Benjamin
Try to think of it more from a user perspective, having just visited your page my main concern would be I have no idea what the website is about. It should be immediately clear to the user within a few seconds what your website is about and what you would like them to do. Might be worth revisiting this
Regards

Hi Ria,
Thanks for responding,I have made sure that my titles are all relevant, made sure no links are broken, made sure there is no keyword stuffing happening.
I also have set all my alt- text for images and made sure there is no duplicated content. Apart from that I'm really not sure what else i could do to make it more optimized. I just feel like it is lacking SEO

I would suggest performing a full audit report of your homepage to find all the little bits you may have missed, if you're really unsure. What have you done so far to optimise the homepage?

Ranking subpage for main keyword instead of homepage – somehow I feel like our homepage is penalized
Hello guys, I hope this question isn't too broad – but I run out of ideas and I feel like there is some technical issue with our site which sees us penalized: Search: German Google

Website: www.elementspure-hotel.de
Keyword: Hotel Bremen Right now we're ranking between 40 and 50 with the subpage /zimmer. a lot of sites with lesser DA scores and a lot more SEO Issues are ranked higher. The homepage is optimized for hotel bremen, yet /zimmer page ranks first, which I just don't understand
(Page Authority is much higher, Keyword density)
– I've run the site through a lot of tools and there aren't any severe issues Search Console doesn't say anything in regards to errors My suggestions which I can't confirm:
– There are some redirection issues (http/https/www/nonww/)
– Backlink issues (a lot of backlinks are from www.elements-pure.de)
– Over optimization penalties? Tank you! Magnus0 -
How can a keyword placed on a page with the Moz page optimization score of 100 be ranked #51+?
Hi, Please help me figure out why this is happening and what goes wrong. This is the example of the poor ranked keyword - 'viking cooktop repair' with page optimization score of 100 (http://www.yourappliancerepairla.com/blog/viking-cooktop-repair/) Yet it's ranking is #51+. I've got many like these: Page Optimization Score for 'kitchenaid oven repair' is 100 (http://www.yourappliancerepairla.com/blog/kitchenaid-oven-repair/) yet its ranking is #51+ And so on. According to Google Search Console, I have 266 of links to my site with variety of root domains. While building backlinks, I paid attention to relevancy and DA.What else do I have to do to get those keywords ranked higher? And why don't they rank well if the pages are 100% optimized, not keywords stuffed and I have quality backlinks? What am I missing out on? Please help!

Page Over-optimized?
I read over this post on the blog tonight: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/lessons-learned-by-an-over-optimizer-14730 & it's got me concerned that I might be having a similar issue on our site? Back in March & April of last year, we ranked fairly well for a number of long tail keywords, here is one in particular 'Mio Drink' for this page: http://www.discountqueens.com/free-mio-drink-from-kraft-facebook-offer The page is still indexed, but appears back on page #3 for the search term. During this time we had made a number of different updates to our site & I can't seem to put an exact finger on what might have caused the problem? Can anyone see any issues that might have caused this to drop? Thanks, BJ

Duplicate Homepage In Google
Hi Just found through my SEO dashboard, Google has two versions of the same homepage, the root page, plus the index.html page, causing duplicate content from both the pages. what is the best option to ensure google only have 1 version of the homepage listed?
Technical SEO | | rfksolutionsltd0 -
I have a site that has both http:// and https:// versions indexed, e.g. https://www.homepage.com/ and http://www.homepage.com/. How do I de-index the https// versions without losing the link juice that is going to the https://homepage.com/ pages?
I can't 301 https// to http:// since there are some form pages that need to be https:// The site has 20,000 + pages so individually 301ing each page would be a nightmare. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Optimal / Best Practice Title tag
Hi Guys, Am I write in saying google will take / create many variable from your title tag? Graphic, Web Design and Online Marketing in Ireland | Company Name results: Graphic Design, Web design, Web design in Ireland, Online Marketing in Ireland, Online Marketing, Graphic and Web Design, etc etc. (plus lots of long tail there as well). Would this be considered the optimal way as 'Design' is the common denominator for Graphic & Web. Then Ireland can be common to every other keyword such as Graphic design, Web design, Online Marketing. (in ireland) The reason why I ask is: lately I've notice title tags being stuffed with keywords and don't actually read correctly in the SERP My suggested way could have more benefits plus it reads well. Your thoughts, thanks.
