Is it really worth it to invest on Facebook Ads?
-
Hi Guys,
I've been wondering if it is really worth it to invest in facebook ads, there have been mixed reviews lately from the positive: http://techcrunch.com/2010/10/02/facebook-bigger-google/ to the more negative: http://www.seobook.com/facebook-vs-google-no-contest/
The industry I am trying to optimize for is gadget related, I've been running some adwords on it but I would want to venture on the social bandwagon which is facebook.
Any Ideas? Suggestions? Reactions? Experiences you can share so I can come up with a better decision?
Thanks A Bunch!

There were several sessions at SMX West 2011 on Facebook, and also some at SES NY (happening this week) regarding facebook advertising that might offer some insights as to how to advertise effectively.Outspoken Media and Bruce Clay, among others, are covering the conference and their blog posts can give an overview of some of those sessions. Also, check out aimClear for some of their posts on how to use Facebook demographic targeting.

facebook ads dont always work. Thats what I have found out with my experiment. facebook ads are not meant for revenue (atleast as the 1st target). If you want to promote something thats engagng, you would have a good chance of success, but on the other hand, if you are trying to drive ecommerce through facebook ads, it may not work that well.

Alfredo Palconit Jr! hahahaha Kamusta kapatid!
Thanks for the great info, seems like FB is still trying to fix their algorithm, and not even those 100+ former Google Employees are adept at solving the problem.
I just found out that most of the time non-relevant ads are showing up, in seemingly weird profiles and I thought that 500 million users can't go wrong!
Anyway Maraming Salamat! (Thank you very much) for the input.

Top of funnel google ads campaign not hardly converting, why?
Hi, I really hope someone can help me with this. I'm running two search ad campaigns and a google shopping campaign in google ads. The search campaigns are targeting top-of-funnel keywords as the business doesn't have universally known collections which everyone would search for so they are just unique to my business. So the campaigns are driving traffic but really converting whereas google shopping is converting because searchers are looking for particular products so they're lower down the funnel closer to aking a purchase decision. I feel I've optimised the campaign well and for the most part, most keywords have 7/10 quality score. The landing page seems fine. However, our offering wasn't as strong as competitors so we've offered a discount the same as them to compete. Since I started google ads we have nearly doubled our monthly revenue and the product types targeted in campaigns have increased in quantity sold so it seems it's having an effect but the campaigns aren't showing a good performance. Does anyone have any suggestions or input that could help me? I looked at first interaction attribution model and even there it's not performing well which makes this even more difficult to resolve. I'm thinking I should enable USER id feature in Google analytics so i can track signed in users across devices which may then help attribute sales to paid search channel as I saw in search console that the keyword that generates the most traffic to the site is our brand name and we're not a well-known brand so makes me think they may be starting their buyer's journey on a work computer on their mobile and finishing on their computer at home as an example. However, I don't believe this will be the main cause or solution as I would only have data for signed in users which still won't give me the full picture. Also if the campaign is optimised effectively but conversions are minimal could not having many conversions affect quality score? If someone can help or provide me with a different perspective it would be much appreciated. Please let me know if I need to clarify or explain further. I hope I've made myself clear. Thanks, T

How much website would be worth for SEO?
I have a website that I'm considering selling. It gives no profit, but I think it has decent SEO value. Link explorer report: domain authority = 69, linking domains: 9.8k, inbound links: 44.2m, ranking keywords: 294. Is that any good? Website is about web design, so keywords are also related to it. Would it be useful for SEO links building for other people? I did sell similar website once, but it was about 7-8 years ago and I've sold it for very high 5 digit amount. However things have changed since then in SEO world, so I don't know if today similar website would be worth much. There is so much information out there that contradicts each other, so I think I'd rather ask professionals here.

Negative keywords on AdWords account, but mispelling in customer query still triggers ad. Possible to avoid?
Ok, So this really p*#%d me off the other day. I've built an extremely comprehensive list of Negative keywords for our trade bookbinding pages on Ad words. Amongst 100's of others, I've also included every City, Town, Village, and County in the UK so our Ads don't get triggered by local search intent. However, we're still getting clicks from searches like this one: **'binding services n worcestr' ** Question: If Google won't assume this is a misspelling of one of our Neg KW, how I can I possibly protect the account from this type of search? Is this something we just have to accept having KW's on broad match mod/ phrase match?

Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database. I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation. Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?

Will Google penalize a text ad if the display URL goes nowhere?
Today I had a colleague ask me if Google Adwords will penalize text ads that have display URLs that land on 404 pages. I fully understand the policy that the domains in display URLs and destination URLs have to match up or Google will disapprove the text ad. However if the display url contains the proper domain (and a target keyword phrase for a file folder) will Google penalize the text ad quality score if the display URL lands on a 404? I had trouble finding specific evidence for this.

Adding Coremetrics Tags with Google Adwords
Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to add Coremetrics tracking tags in Google Adwords while the auto tagging functionnality is on. The point of doing this is to be able to track in both Analytics systems the performance of the PPC campaigns while still having Adwords to use Google Analytics conversion data. Thanks, Guillaume

Adding nyc to a keyword in Google Adwords
Hello. If I have a keyword in Google Adwords that is using phrase match ("keyword"), could it be useful to add the keyword phrase "keyword nyc"? Even if I did not add the second keyword phrase, my ad would be triggered if someone searched for "keyword nyc." So would it be redundant to add the second keyword phrase? Thank you!
