What platform is Moz using for this forum?
-
Just wondering if Moz can share which platform they're using for this forum? I really enjoy using it and would love to build something similar on our company's website, since it would definitely help our community initiatives and SEO.
Cheers!

Hi Christy,
Thanks for getting back to me. I do like the sorting functions and the capability to mark things as answered/unanswered are great too. I also really like the gamification with the points.
We're working on improving our forum right now, and currently just using a WP one but it's organized in a format that is sorted by boards, as opposed to all the threads in one and filtering after (which I like about Moz's!) Hoping to switch over to something more similar to what you guys have going on.
Thanks!

Hi David,
Actually, this forum was built from scratch, in-house.
We are really glad you enjoy using it! I'd love to know what you features you must appreciate, which ones you could do without, and what you'd like to see added to make using the forum a much better experience for everyone.
Also, I am curious what forum platform solutions you've already looked into for your own forum, and how they compare. Would you mind sharing? (No pressure, of course.)
Great question, thanks!
Christy

Is The Moz Community Rankings broken?
Not as active as I would have liked recently but still visit and login, answering a question now and again, yet I can see my profile is still listed as unranked. until recently I was somewhere around 45-49 and have been for many years - the criteria appears to be what it has for the last ten years or so. I see people with lower moz points outranking members with far more points. I can even see one with 0 points now appearing in the top 50 so my question is - is the moz community rankings broken or have I missed something? I know once before I pointed it out and it had to be fixed...input from all welcome 🙂

What is a good forum or resource to contact fellow SEO professionals for SEO partnership opportunities i.e. link trades?
While Moz is an excellent resource, i get the impression that it is for community-based SEO questions that can serve as a knowledge database. I am looking for a forum or resource where I can contact other SEO workers to explore link exchange opportunities. For example, i want to reach out to those who do SEO for audio/visual, technology, and event-planning companies so i can offer them links in exchange for some recommended links to my site. Before anyone dogs on link trading as being spammy and not best practice, it would only be done in a useful, relevant, and non-spammy fashion with other high authority sites. Thanks! Ryan

Appropriate use of the NoIndex tag
If you have multiple domains with the same content and you link them together but hide the title/metas in the noindex tag, does this pass on link value while dodging the duplicate content issues? Â Look at teh source code of some of these domains:Â Â chambrelatwilliamsburg.com, thekenwoodoflakeview.com, thehallmarkofcrevecoeur.com, thedevonshireoflisle.com and theheritage-raleigh.com I had never seen this before and I was wondering if it is an "o.k." tactic to employ and if there is any value in linking this way (are the links passing any value)? Â Any thoughts?

Doing SEO when using location is not an option
When doing SEO for a company that does not have a specific location (they are an online-only retailer), and doesn't want their manufacturing location given, what is some advice on other great SEO tactics that will help counter the disadvantages of not using anything location-related (Google Places, directory submissions, etc). Obviously backlinking and on-page optimization, but in regards to the fact that Google is becoming more and more encouraging of sites that are location-optimized and listed in many records such as Places, Yelp, directories, etc., does anyone have any advice?

Missing SEO Moz Blog Post
I cannot find the blog post that I read earlier this month. I thought I had bookmark it, have checked my browser history and the link seems to be broken. The blog was 'Search Engine Marketing Tactics and Strategies'. Can anybody please provide the link? Thank you.

How cool is this Q&A Forum!
I love it, it's brilliant. You get to peruse through the questions to see real world examples of SEO issues, and help with things you do know the answers to, as well as learn loads from seeing others answers on things you don't know the answers to... I'm getting addicted to coming on here! The instant-ness of it all makes it much better than any other SEO forum out there in my opinion.
