How to get a plain text instead of csv output for backlink analyzer?
-
The link analyzer looks really great, I'm using it now to do some reverse engineering and it is seemingly able to give me far more than just the 1k limit we can get from yahoo site. But it spits out the results to a csv file which just has everything bunched up into a bunch of gibberish.
Is there a way to get a plain text file so its readable/usable? Or how to convert or view the csv file properly?
Thanks

Thanks I will give that a try.But it seems silly it is designed like this, very user unfriendly to have to jump thru so many hoops to get a plain list of the target urls that I want.

What about removing the unneeded columns while you have it in the spreadsheet, then save as html? You can then open that up in the browser and everything is hyperlinked. Or dump it into Word then save that as html.
This will be about the only time in my life I ever recommend using Word to save as html, but it should do for your purposes here.

Thanks, yes I am able to view them in a better format now that I'm not trying to load them into a plain notepad file. My related question now is, how are we supposed to get a plain list of all these urls in a practical manner? I mean it's great to have all the pr, anchor text, etc etc etc all listed next to each one, but frankly I just want a plain list of JUST the urls for me to be able to actually use. I've tried a link extractor and didnt work and no way I'm copy pasting thousands of urls
Ideas? How do you gets get a practical working list without all the extras?

hey justin -
try importing it into microsoft excel or google docs spreadsheet, that should make it quite a bit more readable. if that doesn't work you may be able to export it from one of those 2 programs in a more readable format. :>)
thanksdan

I knew better, but did it anyway. Should I keep these backlinks?
Out of desperation (lack of time and knowing we were way behind competitors on backlinks) - I went to Fivvr and ordered 50 "high quality" backlinks. I know there are no shortcuts, but this weak little voice push through and said, "Just maybe...it's so cheap, what's the harm?" Well, I should have listened to the rationale voice which is typically so much more assertive! What to do now? *Note - I haven't had time to review them all, but at 1st glance, it appears they are off-topic, spammy blog comments 😞 - snapshot of links: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9d23c93o1ryrhv1/Screenshot 2016-09-21 11.49.26.png?dl=0 Check each page to see if the rank suggested is correct and leave links with legit high page rank? They are all garbage, try to remove them immediately - is this even possible? Watch to see if rank is positively or negatively affected, then go about taking them down if needed? Other suggestions? (Besides don't do that again, stupid.)

Backlinks from Open Site Explorer not updated
Hi folks! I was checking the backlink profile for my website - wishpicker.com - we got linked to by a large number of prominent websites in the last couple of months. For some reason, this does not seem to show up when I do a backlink search on OSE. Is there something that I need to do here/ fix? Thanks in advance!

How to get Google to re-recognize a backlink that used to go to a 404?
I recently rebuilt my website last year, the address is enjoyparkcity.com. I used to have a great link from cnbc.com at http://www.cnbc.com/id/34977253/page/5, but when I rebuilt my website, that landing page url no longer existed (http://www.enjoyparkcity.com/search_featured.html). I recently rebuilt a page to catch that link again, and it works fine. Is there a way for Google to re-recognize it? I think its a normal do=follow link so Im guessing it should be valuable? Hoping it could help my rankings? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Gaining a backlink from Webopedia?
We have a client that wants to gain a back link from Webopedia. We have found a very relevent definition entry and there is an additional resources section that contains links to their competitors. Webopedia is owned/operated by Quinn St. and I have reached out to them to see if this is a posibility, but haven't heard back. Any experience in trying to acquire a link from this property? Thanks!

Best way to index backlinks
We have created many high authority back links for our clients and after several months we have noticed 10% or so have actually been indexed (via multiple sources). I am trying to find a way to easily get these backlinks indexed. There is a bunch of software out there, some create RSS feeds and others social bookmark these pages. Any suggestions?
