Not seeing index update for one individual campaign

Hi,

I'd been looking forward to seeing the latest index update for a Moz campaign set up in September, but it doesn't seem to be coming through. I'm still seeing that the next update is due on 14th Dec..

All of my other campaigns were updated on time, so I was wondering if it's normal to see different behaviour for relatively new sites/campaigns, or if it suggests that there's a problem somewhere (other than my impatience)?

Hi Joe

The index updates are manually processed and are not on an automated schedule. We have a release currently in progress which you will see the updates immediately directly in OSE at moz.com/researchtools/ose and within a day the data is imported into campaigns.

New backlinks not getting index

Hi.
I have been creating backlinks for my website since 2 months. The backlinks are from different linking domains. The issue is that moz is not showing me all the backlinks that i have created. It is displaying only 10% of all the backlinks of my domain bestessaywritingservice.org homepage. Is there any way to tell moz about all the backlinks i'm building?

How can I get links indexed in Just Discovered Links, or Open site Explorer? (Because it aint Bit.ly or Feedly!)

Dear Moz & Forum, I've been on a bit of a merry-go-round with one of my clients. He knows enough about SEO to ask questions, and one thing he likes is to see the links that we are building inside Open Site Explorer. Now, of course we know that it takes a while for links to show, but that was ok, because we could just plug the links that we've built into a bit.ly link and then they'd show under Just Discovered Links in Open Site Explorer, and then boom, we're happy. It stopped working some time ago, and after the support team were a little unstuck I sent a hopeful tweet to @randfish. Here is the response: https://twitter.com/randfish/status/788412272129347584 The advice to use Bit.Ly was removed swiftly after this! Oops! The current Guidance is here: https://moz.com/help/guides/research-tools/open-site-explorer/justdiscovered It says: Want to see your new link in the Just-Discovered Links tab? An easy way to start seeing your link in the Just-Discovered section is to have it shared on Twitter and available on Feedly link. Feedly stopped supporting their own link shortner a few years ago. Also, when you share a link from Feedly on twitter it is just the same as sharing a normal tweet, because it shares the standard URL for the site not a link to view on Feedly. Or, maybe these two statements are independant of one another and they should both be done separately? I've done that too! I've also added the feed to recommended feeds inside fresh web explorer and that didn't work either! So, Moz and Help team please help me! How can I get links I've built for clients into Just Discovered Links? Thank you!

Mozscape Index?

Hi, As we know Moz has updated its index on october 15, 2015. One of my websites, for which Moz marked 28 new links as "Just-Discovered" few days before index update, still have same DA/PA after index was updated. Since the site does not have a lot of links detected by Moz, these 28 new links have significant influence in the total number of links. Most of those backlinks come from websites with high DA/PA and some of those websites are really huge in the industry. Majority of backlinks are from content, dofollow, etc...so these backlinks should have influence in DA/PA of my website. I do not understand why the DA / PA remained the same? Some technical issue on Moz side..or....? Thanks...

What's the Story on Mozscape Updates?

Hey gang, As you may be aware, we were considerably late with our last index release. You have my sincere apologies for that and the apologies of the entire team. In the interest of transparency, I want to try to explain what's been going on. Since stepping down as CEO, I've been asked to take on a few roles in the company. One of those is product architect (basically the product owner) of our Big Data team, who produces the Mozscape link index. For several years, that team has been almost exclusively focused on getting us closer to a near real-time indexing system that does not have scalability issues. Mozscape is currently smaller than our major competitors, and we're also often slower. Our metrics (PA, DA, MozRank, MozTrust, Spam Score, Social Data, etc) have been the unique value we provide, but it's not enough. We need to be competitive on size and freshness. Building a raw link index (without processed metrics like PA/DA et al) is hard, but it's possible. Building a link index with those metrics is really tricky, and requires computer science knowledge and skills far beyond the scope of my understanding. That's what our team's been working on, and they've made some progress, but it's been slow, hampered by unknown unknowns, and materially hurt by a lack of experienced talent we can hire to help (we've had open job posts for years now). In the meantime, our historic Mozscape index structure keeps encountering challenges - this latest round is still somewhat unexplained (we believe there's hardware issues compounded by how the system is architected to handle large domains, but there may be other issues). The team's struggled to split time between keeping the old Mozscape running and hunkering down to finish the new system. I'm trying to help them balance things as best I can, and we're going to be putting effort toward making sure we get index releases out on time. However, to do that, we'll need to scale down size, and then rebuild back up. We think we can do this while also improving the prioritization of which links we crawl (e.g. deeper on important domains that link out, less so on deep pages that don't link anywhere) so the index overall improves. However, I don't want to minimize the risks - we may have some slow updates, some smaller indices, and some less-than-ideal data in the next one or two indices while we work to remedy this issue. I HOPE we don't, and that things actually get better immediately, but we can't promise that until the work gets finished. TL;DR - Mozscape V2 is in development and will let us as big and faster as any link index. In the meantime, current Mozscape's having issues & we're making smaller indices in an attempt to diagnose and repair. How long does it take for moz to index new domain?

Hi, Two months ago we changed our site www.jicht.nl to jicht.nl. Everthing is redirected properly but the page authority remains 1. How long does is take rogerbot to index the site without www? Google rankings are also dropping so there might be a bigger issue. Thanx

Updating OSE data

Hello Moz, I was wondering if anyone knows how Moz goes about updating their OSE data? I've been doing some link building that past couple of weeks, and I notice that the number of "just discovered" links will update every time I gain a new link, however, the "Linking domains" number doesn't (or maybe, rarely) update. I've checked through the "Linking domains" list to see if the link is there, but none of the links I've just recently obtained have shown up under that metric. Does anyone have any insight on this or is anyone experiencing the same issue? Thanks for reading!
